@@brizybell With The Sims 4, yeah you can use your expansion packs with the Steam version even if you only own them on the EA launcher. It doesn't work with older EA games but Valve made a deal with EA and Ubi Soft for newer games DLC. If you load up the free Steam version all your packs should be there even if owned outside Steam.
I've seen a lot of people confused about the "Hallowed Grounds" thing. I think it's because it's a spooky pack so people are expecting spooky or weird stuff to happen due to that lot type. But Hallowed Grounds literally means "holy ground" or "holy place". So the effect isn't going to be spooky. Most likely it'll do something like stop ghosts from spawning as much or boost posative moodlets. Or if EA was the tiniest bit ambitious, it might make occult sims uncomfortable (similar to an evil sim being around a good sim). But it's not going to cause spooky or weird gameplay, it's a "holy" lot type.
@@occono3543 thanks it’s been a long time since I tried using my steam versions with my ea versions I’m glad to see they will all work together I appreciate the info!
All I thought was "so it IS possible to make functional events" and now Im mad :,D glad I never bought the marriage pack. they can have my money (during a good sale) after fixing it in a way its as reliable as funerals. and its not just one perspective. lilsimsie was also surprised how well funerals work
@@rrruby1377I only bought get wed (on sale of course) after they added the option to turn the glitched weddings off, I liked the world and stuff in this pack but I liked BG not as glichy weddings more xD
I actually loooved the rebirth concept. I played with a sim and she was killed in a fire, and after playing with her as a ghost i made her re born into a different household as a toddler, but her mother from the previous life crossed paths with her and they got a description of oddly familiar connection. And it was so sweet, that she would recognize the soul of her daughter in another life.
Yeah I think it would make more sense if you could only be reborn as a literal baby, and literally it’s randomly assigned to a female sim of age, so the next time that sim has a baby that baby is the reborn spirit.
I saw someone mention the possibility of having soulmates like continue to be reborn and finding each other in each life and I LOVED that. even cooler if you make one of them a vampire who then has to find their love over and over again.
It would be cool if they also can't become an occult and when they die they just die and they move up the medium skill really REALLY slow and at max they can become a ghost but not other occults and it disables in cas if your an occult of course.
Satch being so gagged by the funerals working is like that part in Diary of a Wimpy Kid where Greg's dad has such low expectations of Rodrick that when he told him to get rid of his dirty underwear by the time he gets home and Rodrick actually did it, he was really happy lol
I am appalled you actually think getting together was a good expansion. There was ONE freaking new mechanic. It is a hell of a new mechanic, but that's it. There is not much beyond that. I, that came from sims 1 era, think the only pack that would be worthy of older generations is seasons. And that's it. All others seem like 1 good older generation pack split into 3 to 5 paid dlc.
@@ArgusLart That one mechanic is, as you say, a hell of a mechanic that continued to integrate well with new mechanics going forward. It also comes a couple new lot types and a skill you can freelance on. Combine that with Windenburg probably being the biggest world until Henford released and it still holds up as one of the better packs.
I can't wait to put 8 Sims with the "chased by death" trait in a room full of dangerous objects. May the Hunger Games begin. Edit: don't let a "chased by death" sim relax in a Sauna. I don't know if it's a glitch, but your sim won't be able to enjoy sauna for more than a few minutes without dying.
it honestly sounds really fun to play with, like having a sickly child thats accident prone growing into a hyper-cautious and paranoid adult. It reminds me of Klaus from umbrella academy
Having a lawyer conduct professional conversations that could be subject to attorney-client privilege in the middle of a public town square where people are expected to gather is HILARIOUSLY BAD.
Same. I think it fits the chaotic personality/vibe of the series. Or at least the vibes of the previous Sims games (bc we all know TS4 completely lacks that old Sims charm)
Honestly, I never thought a *SIMS PACK* would get me emotional. I'm Romanian and have been playing the Sims since the 1st game came out (I'm 37 lol). Back then, in my small town, few people had PCs and there was no such thing as gaming stores. We would just pass along the same cracked CD with the key poorly scribbled in black marker, on the top. To go from not being able to buy the game, because it was for the rich, developed nations, to having a full pack inspired by Romania, and to have it be so damn good really got me in the feels 😭 On another note @10:25 I think they have the seasons thing like that because of the lakes - there are a lot of actions requiring you to get in the lake and when the temperature is too low, the Sim will get the prompt that it's too cold to swim. So some of the festivals, for ex, would not make sense in the winter. I think it ended up being a concession, so you can actually use the full gameplay year-long. My dad lives in Sibiu, the city the town square is inspired by, and I can confirm the winters are ROUGH down there, but we can't have it all, I guess :))
I mean, it's the sims, so it's not like good when compared to other game standards. But to be comparatively good is still something to be excited about. (It's satch's channel, I feel like this comment ks expected.) The part I really liked is how they worked to get romanian creators to do the builds. That's a great touch and I hope they do the same for other countries like it would have been nice if for rent dod that.
I totally understand you. I'm from Thailand, and the "For Rent" pack had me in tears. Btw, Romania is on my bucket list now. This map is so beautiful it's inspired me to visit one day 🫶🫶🫶
The reward for collecting 25 souls in a week seems so like real life it's funny, like you work your arse off and then your boss is like plz accept this voucher for 10$ 😂
You can unlock outfits with cheats I do it to get the get to work hospital gowns available in CAs to assign to every sims outfit category in an asylum challenge
Satch & LGR all the way. Unfortunately EA pumped out so much "meh" Sims 4 pack that he literally couldn't take it anymore, so he now only makes reviews for Expansion Packs.
With Kate Emerald's build, one of the devs ruined it by dragging in walls to resize it. That's why it looks like that and why the toddler room and downstairs bathroom are not playable. Which goes to show that even in a fantastic pack, there are still corners being cut and inconsideration for the consumer and quality because they know the simmer will just fix it for them. This is obviously a passion pack and still someone altered and couldn't be bothered to test the function of a build, carefully made by a creator/fan, after they made a mess of it.
@@urkrush99 Nah, they're just doing their job. Most creators make a lot of really fun content that you can watch, just take all of their new pack reviews with a grain of salt. They're just doing their job!
People still believe the earth is flat despite being shown what it actually looks like. People don't believe in god yet still witness miracles People can be confronted with the truth, yet turn a blind eye People are told & shown ghost stories on tv - whether you want to believe it's real or fake is up to you. I think it's natural. If a sim is a skeptic and they're confronted against that belief they lose the trait in exchange for "believer" - this sim love studying the occult, wants to join a cult & love being in a cult. Having occults flat out removed would be silly.
not seeing ANY occults is a little overkill. for ghosts it would work, but for other occults there could be an exclusive “ask about costume” interaction when they’re transformed and also have them not be as afraid of the werewolf mode and stuff like that.
For funerals. My sim was dressed appropriately in a long black gothic dress (the image of a grieving widow) I then set my outfit category to basic black. She changed into the maid outfit complete with knee high stockings and everyone else wore cocktail attire. Not hating on it though I got a good laugh
THANK YOU for mentioning how incomplete the Bb is, because everyone else I’ve watched is kind of pretending it’s not and it’s driving me CRAZY. I’d rather have less variety on styles on a pack but have a COMPLETE SET of items rather than having two or three styles that are incomplete and that you can’t build a complete house out of. There’s no matching toilet to the sink, shower and tub! No greenhouse door. No matching gates to all of the fences, ditto for the columns and the ONE spandrel.
@ yep. And people tell us not to complain because nobody has a fully matching house - I know that! least on the sims I could try to pretend that I do and that everything matches like it should! But no, the wood swatches never match and the packs never come with complete sets 😂 this shouldn’t be a conversation , it’s a freaking game that can be designed to match, and whoever wants to pick different swatches and styles to imitate real life can do that anyway. People are so annoying 😂
I was able to hold a funeral for a dog - they let you pick a pet as the dearly departed and put their picture in the memorial frame and stuff. You can also invite other animals to attend the funeral, which is pretty sweet when you have them all gathered around to send off their friend!
They should have made lucky and unlucky instead of chased by death and skeptical. Lucky sims could have had better success rates, feel confident often, wake up on the right side of the bed, and had like a "beginners luck" think where they get a boost when they've just started skills. Unlucky sims could have a higher chance for failure and set fires more often when cooking, have the wall bed (I forgot what it's called) break on them more often, etc. They could also wake up on the wrong side of the bed and be scared to try new things for fear of things going wrong. But an unlucky sim can only die of old age because the grim reaper laughs at their misfortunes, just like in the sims 3
I like the rebirth thing. Some people do believe in reincarnation, so the fact that they added it is pretty nice. I already have a lot of story ideas with it. (Like maybe a vampire who see the reincarnation of their first love or something. I wonder if there'll be a special moodlet/sentiment.) Plus, as a family player who like to play with households for multiple generations, I do get attached to some of the sims I make so the rebirth addition is probably something I will use a lot.
I love it... because I can't stand spending hours just getting into the game, building skills, carreer focused, and die randomly to a cooking accident.
7:46 I am of the opinion that when creating an expansion pack they should assume that the player only has basegame at first. This means in their chosen aesthetic there should be a bed (in single, double, loft, toddler, infant, and box baby), dresser, nightstand, toilet, bathtub and/or shower, bathroom sink, kitchen sink, counters, island, kitchen shelves, refrigerator, stove, dinning room table, desk, dinning room chairs, tv, computer functioning object (could be a typewriter or something else that functions as a computer), and a least one of each type of light (floor, wall, and ceiling). There should be at least one new double door, one new single door, and a minimum total of three new doors so that there is a new one for each height. There should a new fence with a matching gate. There should be a new foundation, new walls (with matching platform for at least one), new floors, new terrain, new plants in each category. Likewise there should be a new outfit for each age size (preferable each age group, but I am most concerned with sizes). This outfit can be one piece or two piece. And there should be something that makes sense for each clothing category. This means formal and party can be the same and so fan hot and swimwear, but formal and swimwear cannot be the same (unless we have a Sulani like world then maybe). Sleepwear and athletic might be the same, but they aren’t going to be the same as outerwear for cold weather (again, except maybe in a Sulani type situation). At least one new pair of shoes for every age size, one new hat, one new set of nails (finger and toe), and one new set of jewelry would be nice. And all of this should have something both feminine and masculine, though if something works for both that is okay. Every age should have new hairstyles for feminine and masculine. Once they finish with basics things that work with other packs are fine such as partial styles that compliment things from other packs and things with added functionality if other packs are owned (a well that you can draw water with if you have the eco lifestyle pack, I think, and that turns into a wishing well if you have romantic garden, for example). Maybe I went overboard her, so I will say the thought that really is behind this post: Why didn’t this pack have a new toilet?
I totally agree that they should assume players only have basegame when determining what goes in a pack. I honestly don't care if they recycle features from one pack to another *as long as those features make sense for the pack.* When I was brainstorming what I would want/expect in a romance pack, I thought of nectar-making, but that was already in another pack. As a person who doesn't have every pack though, I wouldn't have minded the overlap. But I feel like they would maybe have more robust packs if they weren't trying so hard not to overlap. If I just started playing The Sims 4 this year and only had the money for one pack, I want that one pack to feel like a whole experience.
You went VERY overboard. Think of a Sims2 collection, or a Sims3 set (like in the store) These have: dining chair, barstool, armchair, loveseat, sofa, dining table, coffee table, end table, counters, desk, bar, single&double bed, dresser, armoire, bookcase, rug, lamps (tabletop, floor, wall, ceiling), toybox, wall hanging, door, archway, single&double window, fence&gate, column, mirror... Only two Sims2 EPs had a bathroom set, and one of these was explicitly called "Kitchen and Bath stuff pack"...
@@MurasakiNoKamiIt's more of game design issue that game allows you to sell pretty much any item dirrectly. You can have 100 orcidee each worth 500$ and game is like "yea, yea take this sum of $500.000" and you only need to drag it to icon in your inventory, in real world scenario you actually have to put effort in selling products because not everyone can have interest in your product. the Sims 3 and to extent Sims 2 has similar problem.
19:01 Actually with the grief system depending on if you actually get your sims to work through it or not they can change personalities! I don’t have growing together so I know it wasn’t part of that. I had it offer to change my gloomy sim into a cheerful one cuz she worked through it and my cheerful sim into a mean one
Warning about Growing Together: they add in a new mechanic with it called burnout (nobody really talks about it in their reviews, dunno why), and the whole point of it is to punish you if you decide to work hard at work, do the same activity over and over again and other stuff. Once you burn out, you can't get promoted, your skill gain is basically null and other annoying things. You CANNOT turn this off in the settings.
@@A1DollarTaco its honestly annoying, takes longer to get promoted now but i guess it reminds me of do other things besides working until my sim reaches the top. It always feels like a race to the top and this feature forces me to practice other skills too
@seadragonpirate8195 I'd be fine with it if we could actually turn it off in the settings. It's so annoying when I'm doing something like painting and all of a sudden they're getting burnt out. Like what? I just wanna make money 🙃 yes I know there's other ways but let's be honest here painting will always be a 10/10 for money 😂
It’s so pretty and cool ! I made my sim a part time taro card reader .. imagine if this tent could be used kinda like the selling table when you travel to different places ? Or just had more use than being decoration.. it’s such a lovely looking item they could of done so much with it
I hated how overhyped the ea creators reviews were cause I have seasons and i am so upset with how each new world doesn't have all 4 seasons like?? I spent money on this pack lmao
I love the ability to make graveyards! The first thing I built was a Church of the Dear Leader with some Jim Pickens cc (if you know, you know), and it's a gigantic church with graveyard 😂
The way my whole family said "Whaaaat?!" when you gave it a 9/10 for gameplay. For pretty much every category, we were like, "That's not a great score, but it's high for Satch." And then that one. And you wholeheartedly recommending it at the end? I was excited about this pack, but nervous about buying it because I didn't want to be let down. I feel so much better about it now. I love lilsimsie, but I know her reviews are always going to be very positive. When I'm thinking about spending my money on a pack, I want to know it's going to be good enough to not piss me off as a late adopter of any version past TS2. I have way too many kids to feed to spend money on a pack that sucks.
Sad thing about them disabling certain weathers in certain worlds completely is that we won't get to enjoy the full spectrum of seasons if it's our homeworld. I kinda wish they left such options to the players because you know... We pour our money to these packs to build our desired places.
I Like find it weird that for the gay community they dress us up like we have fancy pants Not sure I'm allowed to say this but,..... we are just gay and we dress in our own individual styles and not like little Mr. fancy pants all the time
It’s like their default style for anything remotely queer is loud and flamboyant, like no… not every gay man wears skirts or floofy bell bottom pants. It just seems stereotypical at this point, for example they’ve always made sure male sims had effeminate clothes and other styles but hardly ever good masculine options. I’m bi, and I just wear jeans and t shirts, I wear normal suits at events like funerals lol
@@NaishiYT And it affects LGBT and straight. I'm the latter and I'm always on the hunt for good looking masculine clothes for my Sims, but alas, I have to use CC instead.
Also with the rebirth functionality you can have special interactions and stuff with the people you knew in your previous life. Like familiar faces sentiment and deep connections when you meet them again
22:29 ..with a popup here and a popup there - here's a popup there's a popup everywhere a popup popup.. Also, I am VERY disappointed to hear that as per we have been LIED TO! - No reading of the will (as in trailer) - No actual tarot card reading (as in trailer) How difficult would it have been to do it? Have it as a sitting down option, "Offer to read Tarot Cards" to a Sim, if Sim says yes then set cards out, and show us (the player) what the cards are on the screen. (ok a popup lol) ..Then have the game give option to "tell bad fortune" or "tell good fortune" from the cards, with 2 opposite possibilities from each card. Otherwise what the heck is the point? Why the F show these things if it was all just a lie? Oh wait I know....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Thanks for this comment. 💜 I'm now extra happy I didn't buy this pack. I have not bought anything in 1.5 years (and before that took a 4-year hiatus from supporting this cash-grabby monster) but was considering buying this pack because of the tarot cards and other things that interest me. Figured this pack might give the CPR the simmer in me needs (the game hasn't been touched all year.) Seeing now that they have once again used deceptive marketing, I'll pass.
I've noticed that EAxis creates packs based on the assumption that everyone who buys that pack owns all the packs AND kits. If you own the pack and just base game, you truly can't make a coherent build that really makes sense. Just like they did with that castle kit, the assume people who will buy that kit, owns enough packs to make it make sense. So sad really.
It's sucks, but it's true. I've been playing since the beginning... so I accumulated most of the packs over time. I can't imagine being greeted with all this dlc if I started playing today. Ea basically gave us a boring game and has been slowly drip feeding us content to fulfill the void of how empty the base game felt. There are still things even 10 years that we're missing that would be nice to have. Rebirth/reincarnation is not a US thing (I'm in Canada) it is a global spiritual belief system. The Will comes in the mail that you have to wait for it to arrive then you can read it wherever, so I hope you get to experience that part soon. Sometimes bucket list include things to do that takes you of your comfort zone, my daughters in real life wanted to fly out of a plane in Australia and so they did just that, it was scary but they did it anyway. You can have pets/horse funerals you have to set it up like a sims using your pets...
Yeah, I thought it was weird he immediately speculated it was an "American thing". The idea of reincarnation is pretty universal and I'm a little surprised he seemed to have never heard of it.
@@equestrianmidnight5619as a Brit yeah this shocks me 😅 my husband and a few family members believe in this and a few people I’ve come across in life.. heck I’m a Catholic (not a follower of the religion but just believe in god) and even I believe in recantation lol

Yes ! And also the eyelash remover .. like if they are giving us their own eyelashes now why do we need that default block that is meant to be an eyelash 😅
I think the snow thing was either laziness or poor design decisions, rather than running out of development time. Considering a modder came in and added snow within the first 1-2 days of release.
So, as someone who prefers realistic gameplay, I actually still really enjoyed this pack. Having funerals was honestly so great for my realistic generational gameplay, and bucket lists gave me a whole new way to emotionally invest in my elder generation of my family before I let them die of old age and move to the next generation. Funerals and memorials are so great for anyone like me who gets very attached to their sims and plays with them longterm.
honestly I really think they missed the opportunity to put more "elder-style" clothing in this pack. I don't even know what to give my elder sims anymore, because most of the clothing is made to fit sims that are teenagers or young adults. GIVE ME MORE OLD PEOPLE CLOTHES PLS
Yeah, I thought it was weird he immediately speculated it was an "American thing". The idea of reincarnation is pretty universal and I'm a little surprised he seemed to have never heard of it. And this has happened before. I like his videos, but sometimes I get the feeling the man himself is a bit under-educated, heh.
Yeah I’m British myself and defo know of it and even believe in it as does my husband and some of my family and friends 😅 don’t know were he got that it was American … maybe it’s because we’re the typical British mentality of not really talking about that stuff much as much as our American cousins do ? Could be wrong tho but I am shocked he’s never heard of it
Sometimes when I watch your vids... I feel so old, lol! I'm not yet 40!!! The lawyer thing used to be thing. They'd set up and give advice. It was a way for them to fish for work. Similar to tax season where tax advisers will have places in public locations to make them more accessible for people. Also the 20 Simolean treat is a sitcom thing. It's a gag. Guess its not as amusing to those not in the know, whoops! PS. Thanks for letting me know about instant Gaming! I know it was a sponsor thing, but WOW the sales are awesome!
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but the sim guru's confirmed that the seasons won't change in the world because they 'designed it that way to make the world feel more otherworldly' or something along the lines of that
I heard that too and that he was harassed into deactivating his *X* account. I honestly think they didn’t have time or it was too much work to work it in but Satch has a point that their selling point for season was that it wouldn’t have a world because it was gonna affect all the other packs. 🤷🏻♀️
@Kalolelo oh yeah, I definitely agree. Even if they wanted it to seem 'otherworldly' I still think they could have put the effort in to have the more normal neighbourhoods have the weather
It doesn't even feel like a permanent autumn to me. The normal part of the world looks more summer or spring. It's way too bright and green. It just looks like they didn't put any consideration into that part. I don't agree with death threats over it though.
I personally like the flamboyant male CAS given the style of this pack is meant to be over the top gothic/halloween vibes. I do think in general they need to make more average/everyday clothes for men as not everyone dresses feminine or like that. I hope in the next pack or kit or whatever they release next they put an emphasise on casual clothes and comfort. Give us sweatshirts, t-shirts, jackets that are just wearable and low effort. Even with women's CAS I feel like it's never low maintenance it always looks like we're getting ready to serve C U Next Tuesday. It's not as bad as the male CAS but I thought I would mention it. Just more low maintenance clothes all around would be great.
I couldn't agree more! You can't even find a simple, basic hoodie in one solid color like black or gray, but you can easily find dozens of see-through crop tops in all sorts of flashy colors. We definitely need more low-effort clothes!
@@thecommentingnoodle1086 Yeah because this Is supposed to simulate life how many people do you know with 75 percent of their wardrobe dedicated to flashy clothing?
@@Raphaeltheslayer Not many. And that's why we need more "bland" stuff in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of different styles of clothing and I'm all about representation in game. But most people I know wear quite basic clothes usually, at least in day to day life.
@ yeah I think the flashy stuff is good when your going to the club or a party or when your about to go to some witchy ritual but not on the daily that’s why cc regular clothes are so popular 😅
They need a kit - like say... "Mr. Average" …..with stuff normal guys wear - Include work related clothes that say a construction worker, call center worker, fast food worker would wear. Jeans, T shirts, hoodies, sweats, boxers, long sleeved t shirts. As for swatches as stated prev, grey, black, army green, navy, white, Walmart blue, red.....that is the typical colors offered for mass market mens clothing sold at Walmart etc. Smarter clothing is OK too, just not insane colors /styles that no average person would buy. As Satch says there is DEFINATELY a HUGE lack of regular stuff.
ROFLMAO "Getting railed by the grim reaper" 😂 Their CAS for this pack is definitely my all time favorite because I absolutely love macabre and gothic/alternative styles. I love that they did add pieces that could easily be used for a more casual/professional look and not strictly on the gothic side. Again the male stuff is lacking but it's not the absolute worst, in my opinion even though they do recycle a lot of meshes from other content that is already in the game. Their build/buy isn't necessarily one of my favorites but I still love it overall. The build content specifically needed just a little more when it comes to wallpapers, exterior, landscaping and flooring content. They are definitely mix matching the build/buy with intention for you to get other packs to get a more cohesive theme and matching theme. The gameplay for this pack actually seems like it'll take some time to get done and completed and some of it continues when you're alive or after death, like the bucket list. I hate that I will most likely get back into playing the game again because of this pack LOL. I want to leave EA and their bs behind but then they pull this crap LOL.
I didn't even notice yet that there wasn't snow in Ravenwood what the hell... I mean... listen.. in the last few years we haven't had much snow here (in real Romania lol), it's true - climate change is real guys, no more dreamy snow days all over the busy cities - it's now reserved only for the mountains... it definitely still is at Bran Castle tho'! No excuses there 😆
We kinda had just like 2 weeks of good snow in my city last year, un;ike previous years, but the mountains are always snowy and the country side of ravenwood is definitely based on our mountain areas.
For me it was OKAY, it’s definitely better the previous packs but that’s like comparing something average to something awful. I think it also depends on if you’re interested in this kind of pack, the grim reaper job got boring after a while.
Pretty much all the active / semi active careers are boring after the 1st playthrough + they don't pay much compared to staying at home and crafting creative works or other at home money making skill sets. Writing & media production are so damn awesome for passive income... I had 1 super sim spam I maxed out all the skills with + /w max needs spam books out... I was earning almost 100k in a day. Video game game streaming is also broken as hell when you don't have needs. The most op way to make money is by relationship / gold digging other sims and abandon them once they join your house hold. Careers are too much work especially when you factor in building all the skills / go to uni for the increase bonus / get fame for extra fast career progression > then spam all the carreers to max.
@@desiree2086 Yeah I agree, I really don't think its 40 dollars worth of content. Maybe 25-30 tops. Yet again, a sims 4 packs most defining qualities was its CAS and build buy items. The gameplay gets boring and stale after a while, and you spend more time building and decorating more than anything else. I also agree with satch that the tarot card thing should have been more fleshed out, i thought at least it would be a profession or something. Giving you a moodlet wasn't really interesting to me.
@@honinakecheta601yeah I got mine preordered (never usually do this but this pack seemed my vibe and it was) on cdkeys for £23 and THAT felt like a fair price .. anything more wouldn’t of been worth it for me
I wanted that adorable tarot booth to be functional so badly. Could have been such a perfect space to do readings, maybe even professionally. Would’ve loved a tarot/diviner career. I’m happy with the tarot stuff they included though.
I was really hoping we'd get some kind of new eyelashes that would suit more goth or alt looks, but nope seems like they already forgot they introduced those
Instead of having the seperate masculine and feminine CAS items, maybe they should just make proper versions of every outfit for both body types and you can choose between. Like now of course you can wear either but most outfits look weird and the textures are all stretched out when you try to use it on the opposite body type. Then they can make all the dresses and feminine clothes to be available for either, instead of randomly throwing a dress in for masculine bodies. And of course add more masculine fashion for both body types. I'd love more masculine clothes for my feminine bodied sims too. But yeah we definitely need more casual masculine style clothing.
CAS in this pack is one of my favorites. Funerals... well, I have a very big legacy family and I was waiting for this pack to finally do a funeral for the father of the family... Two of his eldest sons did push-ups during his eulogy. I wasn't even surprised XD My Soul's Journey goals did form but they were totally random. Like the widow that doesn't have a job got a goal to quit her job, which she doesn't have. Or mend relationships with family which already has a very good dynamic.
The Hallowed ground trait in my game made the house lights flicker or go out, created cold spots in the house that my sims would react to, and sometimes these weird cracks would appear that you can get collectables out of. I saw one of the Guru's comment on X that this world is in an eternal autumnal state, like time has stopped. It's supposed to lend to the spooky vibe.
10:13 in my game hollowed grounds spawns netherworld rips on ground and floors, random power surges and outages which if you don’t notice the flickering lights could be confused with an eco living thing, a ghostly fog can spawn, sims get scared from lot trait and then it uses a lot of paranormal stuff pack floor puddles and sometimes the creepy doll or creepy tendrils spawn. I’ve also noticed paranoid trait gets suggested a lot for any sims living on hollowed grounds.
I Satch found you channel a few days ago, binged a few videos and was pleasantly surprised by you brutal honesty, humor and I your laughter! Thank you!
You know, as you were talking about the grief actions, I thought wow this could help people in real life to encourage citizens to seek out the help that is best for themselves...There are anger rooms out there to help people adjust to whatever anger rests within...I really do love this pack. Also you don't have to be goth to appreciate the macabre irl or sims life.
Very few people talk about how being reborn as an adult makes absolute no sense at all, this random ass adult face planted on my yard and I'm supposed to accept that they're my kid even if I'm also a young adult? What?
Fall is my favorite season so I love the idea of a permanent fall world just like how sulani id permanently summer and snowy escape has a permanent winter lot now we need a permanently spring world lol
Thank you so much for your honest review. I was sad to see LGR not doing reviews anymore so I'm glad to have found your channel. Have already subscribed and look forward to more content from you!
I have been waiting for this! It’s the only reason I have been keeping an eye on Life and Death YT content, because I feel I can get a true honest opinion on it all once it’s out thanks to you. You have helped me stay interested in the sims as I can make a true decision, instead of being duped to buy things that make me enjoy it less because I was expecting more.
I actually thought they did an amazing job with the bucket list items. If you write "the perfect goal" and look at the full list, there's SO MANY to choose from and they cover everything from really fun ones to more serious ones like an irl bucket list would. It also naturally populated for both of my simmies and they were relevant based on their traits and what i made them do often. My only issue with it is that after completing like 4-6 items (depending on what else contributes to it), it's fully done and there's no option to do more except as a ghost.
Thanks for the honest review!!! I thought it was really funny calling rebirth a Western thing when it's most prominent in like Hinduism and Buddhism though lol
I MADE A MISTAKE IN THE REVIEW!!!! YOU CAN HAVE FUNERALS FOR PETS. I APOLOGISE FOR THE MISTAKE.

Can you buy expansions here and have them work with your sims games you have bought from EA bc my expansions from steam don’t work with my EA games?

All I thought was "so it IS possible to make functional events" and now Im mad :,D glad I never bought the marriage pack. they can have my money (during a good sale) after fixing it in a way its as reliable as funerals. and its not just one perspective. lilsimsie was also surprised how well funerals work

What!? That's amazing
@@mxltinfinityxI absolutely love that idea!
Woah EA actually made something cool
Woulda been cool if skeptical sims were unable to see ghosts like how in sims 3 adults couldn’t see imaginary friends of their kids
There was a mod that made it so only certain sims could see ghosts... like wizards and sims with the medium skill so it is possible to make.
It would be cool if they also can't become an occult and when they die they just die and they move up the medium skill really REALLY slow and at max they can become a ghost but not other occults and it disables in cas if your an occult of course.

@@ArgusLart
That one mechanic is, as you say, a hell of a mechanic that continued to integrate well with new mechanics going forward. It also comes a couple new lot types and a skill you can freelance on. Combine that with Windenburg probably being the biggest world until Henford released and it still holds up as one of the better packs.
Honestly probably
I can't wait to put 8 Sims with the "chased by death" trait in a room full of dangerous objects. May the Hunger Games begin.
Edit: don't let a "chased by death" sim relax in a Sauna. I don't know if it's a glitch, but your sim won't be able to enjoy sauna for more than a few minutes without dying.
I plan to combine it with Cristal creations jewellery that makes so you can't die, Grim reaper toys and death flowers.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!!! 😂😂
To go from not being able to buy the game, because it was for the rich, developed nations, to having a full pack inspired by Romania, and to have it be so damn good really got me in the feels 😭
On another note @10:25 I think they have the seasons thing like that because of the lakes - there are a lot of actions requiring you to get in the lake and when the temperature is too low, the Sim will get the prompt that it's too cold to swim.
I’m so happy for you 😊 ❤

LGR has been good with sims games for years... Honest and not an EA fanboy. I think he's still cleaning up after the hurricanes.
this was me until he said "lesbians should stay in the closet"

Skeptical would be super fun if you couldn't see any of the occult when that sim is selected.
People still believe the earth is flat despite being shown what it actually looks like.
People don't believe in god yet still witness miracles
People can be confronted with the truth, yet turn a blind eye
People are told & shown ghost stories on tv - whether you want to believe it's real or fake is up to you.

Fr, not a matching chair loveseat couch set in sight 😢 I can't be a pretend interior decorator under these impossible constraints /hj

"my doggy death day" by EA
I miss those traits from 3
I actually like the chased by death challenge but I would love lucky and unlucky traits like in sims 3. Maybe someone can make a mod of it?
Sounds really better
I like the rebirth thing. Some people do believe in reincarnation, so the fact that they added it is pretty nice. I already have a lot of story ideas with it. (Like maybe a vampire who see the reincarnation of their first love or something. I wonder if there'll be a special moodlet/sentiment.) Plus, as a family player who like to play with households for multiple generations, I do get attached to some of the sims I make so the rebirth addition is probably something I will use a lot.
I love it... because I can't stand spending hours just getting into the game, building skills, carreer focused, and die randomly to a cooking accident.
I like that part too
Now that my trusted Karen has reviewed the pack, I might consider buying it 😂 Thanks, Sach! Never lose your essence ❤

@@b4rs629Yes, but do we have a lawyer career? 😉
Maybe I went overboard her, so I will say the thought that really is behind this post:
Why didn’t this pack have a new toilet?
I totally agree that they should assume players only have basegame when determining what goes in a pack. I honestly don't care if they recycle features from one pack to another *as long as those features make sense for the pack.* When I was brainstorming what I would want/expect in a romance pack, I thought of nectar-making, but that was already in another pack. As a person who doesn't have every pack though, I wouldn't have minded the overlap. But I feel like they would maybe have more robust packs if they weren't trying so hard not to overlap. If I just started playing The Sims 4 this year and only had the money for one pack, I want that one pack to feel like a whole experience.
for your toilet question there is a toilet in base game that matches all the new swatches from this pack so everyone, pack or not, has the toilet
You went VERY overboard. Think of a Sims2 collection, or a Sims3 set (like in the store)
These have: dining chair, barstool, armchair, loveseat, sofa, dining table, coffee table, end table, counters, desk, bar, single&double bed, dresser, armoire, bookcase, rug, lamps (tabletop, floor, wall, ceiling), toybox, wall hanging, door, archway, single&double window, fence&gate, column, mirror...
Only two Sims2 EPs had a bathroom set, and one of these was explicitly called "Kitchen and Bath stuff pack"...
@ Yes, well I would argue that a fault in older games does not make it not a fault in a newer game.

I think that's sweet, and I'm glad they included these
22:29 ..with a popup here and a popup there - here's a popup there's a popup everywhere a popup popup..
Also, I am VERY disappointed to hear that as per we have been LIED TO!
- No reading of the will (as in trailer)
- No actual tarot card reading (as in trailer)
How difficult would it have been to do it?
Figured this pack might give the CPR the simmer in me needs (the game hasn't been touched all year.)
Seeing now that they have once again used deceptive marketing, I'll pass.
But they need separated game packs to offer these features and they rack millions of dollars extra sales! More money is just more money. 😂
Like Drums, other instruments, create a band, touring, gigs, (the entertainment rabbit hole career is awful)
Expansions packs usually only add rabbit hole careers, some gameplay, & a wide variety of themes for build / cas
Gamepacks - in my opinion adds the most value to the game itself for the price
Stuff packs- Nice to haves, but generally not needed
Kits - niche vibes & aesthethics, depends on your style and type of simmer you're
Paranormal / Goth essentials
Vampires, werewolves, magic, life & death, paranormal pack, crystal creations, spooky, goth galore, grunge revival, castle, story book
The eco / off the grid / country rancher / minimalist roleplay
Industrial kit / eco lifestyle / green house kit / tiny living / country / cottage living / blooming room / nifty knitting / laundry day / outdoor retreat / island / seasons /snowy escape / bust the dust / horse ranch
Relaxation / healthy living / self care
desert luxe / spa day / fitness pack (has great build items i love it)
"fun packs, excitement, luxory)
movie pack / bowling night / city living / get to work, get famous / luxory packs / moschino stuff / get famous / for rent / vintage glamour
Take a vacation (great for families
outdoor reteat / little campers / snow escape /
Family simmers
high school / uni / parenthood / growing together / kid packs / toddler packs / life & death (everything else is just icing on the cake)
Gold digger simmers collection
lovestruck / wedding stories / romantic gardens / simtimate collections / + clothing ktis or any pack that has a certain vibe for your sims
Home decorator - basically any pack with build mode items you'll probably want it all if you enjoy building things I guess
Get rich not so quick schemes packs
dine out / for rent / cats and dogs / retail< get to work
Traveler / adventure / story packs
Jungle adventure, strangerville, star wars
Except when it comes to gameplay. The cross pack compatibility is usually non-existant
My problem is every creator is using all the packs. Especially the castle kit. And I don’t buy that kit. I get it makes sense with this. But I won’t use it.
@@b4rs629 Thanks SOOO much for all the grouping of packs depending on what type of player you are!!! ♥. Really wish I would have seen something like this earlier. EA of course wants us to get EVERYTHING, but I hesitate to do so as I don't want to clog my game with crap I will never use/don't like. Wondering why I got cottage Living and Island Living...Love occult stuff and have all of first category except grunge , castle and nursery, vampires and werewolves. May get grunge and vampires. Others not of interest as am not a builder, family player or dog lover.
Have: Cats & Dogs (1st EP bought as have many cats IRL), Get Together (as i read reviews re the world and 100% true it is by far one of the VERY BEST worlds ever), City Living (Ditto to GT), Cottage Living (daughter suggested it - have not yet played in world or with animals), Eco Living (for the dumpster lol), Snowy Escape (absolutely love this pack! - world, CAS, build, gameplay all 100%), Island Living ( also not played much), Seasons (obviously - wish more worlds had SNOW as winter is my favorite season in game - wish we could make just winter longer), Horse Ranch (just bought in latest sale mainly due to watching Satch's funny lets play)
May Buy: Get To Work & Get Famous
Dont Ever Want: University, High School, Growing Together, For Rent, Love Struck. Mainly due to Reviews of Glitches - Hate Idea of Love Struck, Uni and High School. If I ever get any of these would be For Rent and Growing Together
Will definitely get Life & Death but am sad re many omissions especially SNOW. The afterlife has to have snow IMO.
I just resorted to pirating the sims 4 now. I'm not going to give each any money. Plus the pirating is less glitch because it doesn't need to be online.
Oh good. I was sad hearing re no reading of the will, no pet funerals. sadly IRL reading of the will does not always happen. Was looking fwd to it lol
@@GeekyC. i was gonna say, i'm british too and i'm really familiar with the idea of reincarnation? i know plenty of people who don't necessarily follow a particular religion that believe in being reincarnated too
Yeah, the sceptic wanting to meet a werewolf made perfect sense to me; they want something to challenge their scepticism.
I have been WAITING for this. Buckling up ready
They need to create the 4 column in Cas. I'm sick of having to use the mod that needs updating every time the game updates. 2 columns is useless.
?
Yes ! And also the eyelash remover .. like if they are giving us their own eyelashes now why do we need that default block that is meant to be an eyelash 😅
@@GeekyC. The eyelashes are sooooo bad :(
I think the snow thing was either laziness or poor design decisions, rather than running out of development time. Considering a modder came in and added snow within the first 1-2 days of release.
it was a design decision, probally because they do this already for worlds that they consider "Special" like occult worlds.
0:19 Bro, you just had to say it like that huh?? 😭
honestly I really think they missed the opportunity to put more "elder-style" clothing in this pack. I don't even know what to give my elder sims anymore, because most of the clothing is made to fit sims that are teenagers or young adults. GIVE ME MORE OLD PEOPLE CLOTHES PLS
You've never heard of reincarnation? It's certainly not an 'american thing'.
I'm often shocked by the things Satch has never heard of lol
Yeah, I thought it was weird he immediately speculated it was an "American thing". The idea of reincarnation is pretty universal and I'm a little surprised he seemed to have never heard of it. And this has happened before. I like his videos, but sometimes I get the feeling the man himself is a bit under-educated, heh.
Yeah I’m British myself and defo know of it and even believe in it as does my husband and some of my family and friends 😅 don’t know were he got that it was American … maybe it’s because we’re the typical British mentality of not really talking about that stuff much as much as our American cousins do ? Could be wrong tho but I am shocked he’s never heard of it
@@equestrianmidnight5619 i thought it was common knowledge that reincarnation is a common asian belief
Omg I‘ve been checking TH-cam waaay too often waiting for this 🙏🏻
I think the holiday cracker after working your arse off to meet your quota at work is pretty accurate 😅
I am really sad about this. I love the seasons... 😢
Sounds like an excuse to me.
I was literally checking your channel for days I love your reviews
I love how casually he said it.
The fact they added in a new set of appliances, but didn't didnt bother to add a new toilet design... guess I still got to use the vampire toilet.
@@b4rs629 yeah, maybe its time to buy Vampires lol
I have been checking TH-cam at least 5x day for the last 3 days ! Thanks for your brutally honest opinion! You're the one I trust!
In a recent stream lilsimsie could do funeral for her cat and horse so maybe it was just bugged for you.
Life and death actually made me come back to sims 4 after like 5 years and I'm shocked that I'm having so much fun.
This is an EXCELLENT pack review. Very salient and obviously a connoisseur's point of view. Nicely done!
"macab-ray" is killing me lmao
It’s better indeed but it still feels like an incomplete pack.
I have literally been waiting for your review and yours only
Thank you for always being the go to source for honesty Satch ❤
To be fair, i dont think any of the female cas could be considered "normal" clothing either
Yeah, i think the sims team just really likes playing dress up. 😅
Your amazing, I love how you give details information about the sims packs. Please never stop making video.
"Go look in fucking Zara" made me laugh so hard
I've been waiting for this!!!
0:55 Let just say, there are people who believe the Earth is flat. I don't think denial is too far fetched. Skeptic is just a form of denial.
I really like your reviews. No skewed reviews.
OMG I was checking your channel every day since it came out! So glad this video is out!
I BEEN WAITING, Glad you took time to play this pack fully! 👏🏾👏🏾 I appreciate your reviews.
Satch was so shocked that the event worked, he even literally spit out his words around the 18:13 mark.
The bar is in hell. When they offer two crumbs on a silver platter people eat it up. It's sad.
You turned into one of the few real pack reviewers I watch. I like watching people play the sims but to see if it’s worth the money I come to you
4:17 polish church vibes is such a good description I can't 😭😭😭
Very few people talk about how being reborn as an adult makes absolute no sense at all, this random ass adult face planted on my yard and I'm supposed to accept that they're my kid even if I'm also a young adult? What?
You know we’ve all been waiting for this one! Thanks as always for spending your money on these packs to let us know if we should save ours. ❤
Skeptical actually means "not easily convinced; having doubts or reservations" - so it doesn't mean that you don't believe at all.
Funeral clothing is probably gonna be released as a kit
You already know they like to milk us for all our money lmaoo
I have been waiting for this! It’s the only reason I have been keeping an eye on Life and Death YT content, because I feel I can get a true honest opinion on it all once it’s out thanks to you. You have helped me stay interested in the sims as I can make a true decision, instead of being duped to buy things that make me enjoy it less because I was expecting more.
the cooking mama mention xD hilarious satch
I actually thought they did an amazing job with the bucket list items. If you write "the perfect goal" and look at the full list, there's SO MANY to choose from and they cover everything from really fun ones to more serious ones like an irl bucket list would.
It also naturally populated for both of my simmies and they were relevant based on their traits and what i made them do often.
My only issue with it is that after completing like 4-6 items (depending on what else contributes to it), it's fully done and there's no option to do more except as a ghost.
I enjoyed this review, it was very thorough and honest, I appreciate it.
Finally. I’ve been waiting for your video.
OMG waited 2 days for this!
“From the rock bottom standards of the sims 4”. I LOVE YOU
I agree about the tarot cards. I was expecting more, and it was a big reason why I bought this pack.
"getting railed by the grim reaper" pls stop, I lost it :D
26:25 Omg did u see that sim spinning in Sadakos chair and throwing up? Im cryinggg
I just saw it and it's so funny that they referenced Scary Movie 3 in the sims, love that
Honestly really enjoying the CAS items! They go perfectly with Storybook nursery AND it’s perfect for my grimwitchy gothic family.
Thanks for the honest review!!! I thought it was really funny calling rebirth a Western thing when it's most prominent in like Hinduism and Buddhism though lol
