This is the game that made 12 year old me conquer my fear of zombies. There was just something about it that made me want more, even though I was actually terrified of any enemies I encountered for the first little while of playing. I'd hide on roofs and just take potshots, then I got real good at popping off headshots. Eventually I was running up and executing zambo's left and right. Ever since I've been a total zombie head.

There is technically a separate disk for the game.I don't really recommend playing Undead Nightmare on the GoTY standalone disk. A recent update that was made around 2016 has rendered the game pretty much unplayable. Due to a gamebreaking bug that makes it impossible to play the game. Unkillable undead, unwinnable overruns, inability to clear cities and graveyards and the base game meshing with the dlc resulting in the undead becoming civilian npcs and spawning headless undead that can't be killed.

at 21:25 you can hear a zombie say "this was meant to be my perfect day"
That’s cool I would’ve noticed it but not noticed at the same time so I’m glad you did💯🙏🏻
Thats zombie is a Lady you meet in a Stranger Mission in the normal game! All those "cutscenes" of a zombie poping up and then talking is characters that cannonicaly died in the normal game. Its a fun little touch.
I stayed home from school to play this game when it came out! I remember beating it in one sitting. The one thing that blew me away was how the zombies changed right before your eyes in real time.
This was Amazing and still is. Just a shame we didn’t get Undead Nightmare 2.
Still time think it took naughty dog a while for a last of us 1 remake soo rockstar could remake red dead 1 and undead or even bring undead 2
@@Haydoss11 I mean we ARE getting remasters of GTA 4 and rdr1 at some point post GTA 6 release so there's still hope for undead nightmares
Unfortunately guys I searched it up about a week ago I don't think Undead Nightmare 2 is coming i'll be real
@@murica7095 No F that then. I'd rather have RDR3.
@@murica7095 I heard those got canned to further GTA 6 development but who knows it could be deception to avoid leaks.
This was so much fun back in the day. So awesome seeing it again. the nostalgia is real rn
its honestly the best standalone DLC ever made to date, i reckon. i 100%'d RDR1 three times over and then the undead nightmare dlc three times over also. one of my favourite games ever made
I remember when my dad bought it when i was younger and we were trying to play it but I SWEAR jack had a TUTU on and Abigail had a suit on i think someone messed up the game after we rented it from game stop😂😂 super funny story tho the worker was very confused
Thx for the trip down memory lane. This DLC was genuinely scary & stressful lol.
This dlc changed my Childhood. I love every bit of this dlc
This game was hard ! The scarce ammo plus the mandatory head shots to get rid of them really did put you under some pressure. Rockstar did an awesome job off this game. I loved it so much. They surely should have made an other one for the prequel.
It's such a shame and a missed opportunity for rockstar that they didn't made an undead nightmare dlc for rdr2.. undead nightmare is such a unique game.. it has a special place in gaming history because there is simply no other game quite like undead nightmare.. this is what a perfect dlc looks like
This is the game that made 12 year old me conquer my fear of zombies.
Still to this day the best piece of DLC for any game ever. I would have loved it if they did something similar with RDR2, although I guess with the sheer scope of the game it would have been a hell of a lot of work
not best ever, can be in top 3 or smthg but witcher 3 dlcs was 10/10, and I dont played baldurs gate, heard that the dlcs was awesome too
@@ThiZ1337 prey 2017 mooncrash dlc is amongst the best too.
@@ThiZ1337 Bloodborne The Old Hunters
@@shriyanshpandey112 i immediately lost interest. It was nowhere near as good as the main story!!! I thought it was going to add to the main story! Not be a rogue like kinda experience:/ just not my cup of tea
I recently started playing Undead Nightmare again with the wife and she's never experienced it. I used to play it back in the day but it had the old headless broken save bug.
I played this game in 2012, yet I still remember all the steps It was a masterpiece.
If only they made undead nightmare 2. That one mission in the swamp when you are getting the boat felt like it would be in a zombie game.
John Marston saying ''It is probably just a fever'' after witnessing his wife, child and friend turning into human-eating creatures trying to bite chunks off of each other will forever remain to the legendary gaming lines book written with golden letters, as well as this masterpiece of a DLC.
4:12 the garlic and steak is supposed to work for vampires.. John’s a little confused, but he’s got the spirit
I presume Jay forgot about the Dead eye feature 😂
His lumbago was to powerful
One of the few dlcs I’ve ever played that felt actually like another game. Undead nightmare shoulda got it’s own thing. I remember my favorite part riding over a big hill to look down and see a horse on fire running around in the field! 😅
Funny thing is, they made a separate disc just for the Undead Nightmare DLC. How do I know? I have one.
@@sir_cabbage1170 same! I knew nothing about it until I found it on the shelf at a GameStop lol
I miss Expansion Packs.
Strategy games had the best of them.
Command and conquer and Lord of the Rings RTS had some of the largest in those days. And Fallout of course
Years of cod have prepared me for this moment 😂 best line ever bro
Don’t forget that deadeye is still a thing
I was screaming this the whole video 😂
With that aim he really needed it...
Hello from New Zealand I remember playing this on Xbox years ago an started thinking it never happened until i saw this.
Your give a quality funny experience so thanks for the laughs an fun gameplay.
Top commentary to..
Please make this a series I love this game and your commentary is very entertaining! ❤

I remember spending HOURS trying to get all 4 apocalypse horses.
I spent hours searching for the unicorn after finally finding the 4th horse. Fun DLC this one.
I remember spending countless hours playing this game on xbox360. Good times! Also, I'm pretty sure you have deadeye from the start. You should use it more often
I remember my dad coming home with a bunch of ps3 games and he came home with undead nightmare and then I remember trying this game out I played it for 2 hours and never touched it again I missed out
I absolutely love seeing you play this. keep up the content :)
I remember there being a burning horse, and this long cavern-like area chalk-full of Z's. Riding the burning horse, I enjoyed riding through and settin' them ablaze.
To this day, UN is still my favorite DLC of all time. This brings back so many memories.
I'm always holding out hope for a remaster of this, but with how RDR2 has preformed, that hope is dwindling.
I loved this dlc so much I actively speedran it and held world records for it.
I’ll never forgive Rockstar for not making Undead Nightmare 2..
Aliens would be better for RDR2
@@DeadnotAlive why not both?
Be good if they are saving it for a standalone game, doubt it though.
@@itselizauwu I’d actually like that
The Road to Escalera bit was unforgettable to me, Bad Voodoo is one of my favorites songs to this day and the atmosphere and stakes are really high for a dlc, i love it
You gotta play far enough to unlock the 4 horses of the apocalypse, kill the chupacabra, and tame the unicorn.
Bruv let him discover that stuff on his own. Big dlc spoilers, part of what makes those encounters fun is discovering them yourself for the first time. Not having someone spoil it for you.
@@AspieMemoires you are right, but i personally never found the stuff without a guide or something.
@Dubious GM Okay, and that's you. That's okay for you to do personally, I not so fondly remember the days of Mass Effect 1 and NEEDING a guide for the damn resource locations on planets lmao.
But when it comes to someone else playing the game for the first time, you don't know how they play or explore things. So it's better not to spoil them of potential things that would make them have fond memories of the experience. For some, it isn't an enjoyment if you don't experience it yourself.
John Marston as a zombie is on the cover and is still one of the coolest video game cover art to date.
Also, when you said is this Uncle Mordecai? I was laughing because the named Undead always appear at the end of a graveyard cleansing.
I can't believe that you can't believe that you never played so many games and dlcs.
Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. He really uses that title much, eh?
This game is the best, I really wish they'd make a "Simple zombies" mod for RDR 2 much like the simple zombies mod in GTA 5
This still looks amazing! Rockstar really do make the best games 😊
I owned Undead Nightmare on disc long before I had the actual game. I had already played and beaten the main game through rentals, and asked my mom for Undead Nightmare while we were at a Wal-Mart one day, thinking that it was the full game plus the DLC. I was wrong, but I still had a blast with it.
Did this man actually never use deadeye?! What the hell
Its baffling how Rockstar isnt capitalizing on Red Dead Redemption 2 Undead Nightmares. It doenst matter if it isnt cannon, Arthur as a Zombie killing machine would be objectively badass
I love this DLC.
its funny how this game was made 6 month's after the realise . and its one of the best open world zombie games of all time
As much as I love this game, the controls and handling were really... something. And this is one of the good ones, I don't know how I managed during that generation of games.
It’s really weird playing these older games and not realizing how bad/janky the controls were compared to now
I played RDR on my PS3 for the first time 3 years ago after completing RDR2 a few times. I noticed this the most about it and it made it difficult to get through. It took me over a month of playing a little and coming back to it a few days later to finish the game rather than immersing myself because the controls were so bad. I only played the first 20 minutes of Undead Nightmare but might give it another try after watching this.
@@jacobhoover4393lol we knew but got used to it. Thats why it was so funny every time letting people play new games and seeing them struggle
@@AUSDANGERlol you are really exagging a lot. Its the exact same controls as every other rockstar game, just less smooth thats all. But John controls less Tanky than arthur does and way quicker
@@AbuHajarAlBugatti I was meaning more the mechanics of embarking/disembarking the horse, the menu system, shooting, tracking missions, etc. Just felt far less refined. For me It's noticeably a game from a couple of generations ago. I wasn't over exaggerating lol
Went to ComiCon a few years ago and met the voice actor of John Marston, my god hes one of the most down to earth humble and sweet people youll ever meet. I got a signed picture, he wrote "you eat babys." Ill forever keep it
I would fight zombies all day long, but sadly i have terminal lumbago 🤷
The online zombie stoem matches where nuts and frightening to death back in the days, especially at night without lights on in the room....unique atmosphere , sadfully there was never an undead mightmear for rdr2
God was the gunplay so good in RDR1. That first shot on uncle still hits the same way
I replayed red dead about 2 months ago and was so happy going into undead nightmare again, only to constantly be plagued by the headless zombie glitch every 5-10 minutes 😢
One of the best DLCs for a game ever, it's so damn good.
Wish there would have been an Undead Nightmare 2
This is the best cowboy zombie game period even 20 years later
The undead was so much fun! It’s sad they didn’t make a second one for rdr2, the graphics and mechanics would’ve been crazy
I played this game so much as a kid. Didn't even know it came out till a week later and was blown away when I found out about it because I grew up loving GTA. I was 12 when it came out.
Bro used the immortal cheat and thought we wouldn't notice *suspicious emoji*
i was wondering why he didnt lose any health!
Im looking for someone to help boost online achievements, is anyone else looking to do these soon?
@@ninthshark9153i didn't even know there was cheats for this 😢 but it's easier bc the zombies are annoying
@@lucia066 yeah there are some. Infinite health and ammo cheats but i think this disables achievements

This came out when I was in high school and I was obsessed with it. Still have it on ps3. I played and completed it 69 times. I stopped after that because well.... nice... 😂
We all just not gonna talk about how badass the multiplayer was for this too? There were legit teams vs zombies and epic launches of holy water & dynamite. Man, takes me back.
1:40 I TOLD YOU UNCLES LUMBAGO WAS SERIOUS!!!
This was so bizarre to play as a kid, this was my first RDR game. Didn't even know the gang and cowboy gameplay back then. Very spooky and The Land of the Dead game too,
Where’s uncles lumbago gone
