I am from Pakistan living in Karachi, I have short history of Empress market (Empress Market was constructed between 1884 and 1889 when it was one of only seven markets in Karachi and the largest with a space to accommodate 280 shops. The plaza was named in honor of Queen Victoria, who at that time was the Empress of India.)

I am an Indian who had the opportunity to visit Karachi two years ago. Pakistan is a beautiful country, and I found the people there to be incredibly friendly and warm. I have a desire to return, particularly to explore Lahore, Islamabad, and Mari, among other places.
My experience I had in Karachi was truly enjoyable. I share the hope that relations between India and Pakistan will improve in the near future.

The Empress Market was constructed between 1884 and 1889 and was named to commemorate the then British Queen Victoria, known as Empress of India. The market was constructed at a chosen site in the then European Quarters where families of British colonial administrators & soldiers used to live. The building since then have been a market, especially even after partition. It was recently renovated, hence the signboard at the entrance.

It depends which aspect of the culture, yes food, hospitality great! but some other aspects I dont want to talk about, they are horrible, and I am pakistani myself, so I know. Wish Pakistan was a modern muslim state like UAE or something, I think British left too quickly, they should have stayed another 20-30 years to give pakistanis more education. The reason I am saying this my grand father was great admirer of British and and their work ethics. He worked with the British in the 1930s and 40s in the British Raj of India and when British left 1947 so quickly he was really sad, and he knew the whole system will break after they leave, because Pakistanis had no education or expertise to run the place, and that is exactly what happend... god bless his soul, he died in 1993

However our city Kolkata ( City of Joy ) also like this, people are moving around for work. Hey Bro,
Thanks for visiting Karachi and welcome to Pakistan!. Pakistanis are extremely hospitable to foreigners and with exception of few, they do love Americans and would love lot more especially if someone can speak some Urdu and say Salaam, thank you etc, which you have been already doing fantastically!. (You are pretty good when meeting and greeting people and public/people seems to love you as well).
Just a suggestion that If you want to go viral, you need to mention your channel to them and ask everybody there to watch and subscribe your channel as well. (ask/do it right there especially if they are carrying a phone)
(Btw, old man at the market was telling that anyone who is beautiful or handsome, he loves them)
Empress market was originally just a flat parade ground in front of British army’s barracks. In 1857 after rebellion against British government, ground was used for executing locals/mutineers. Market was later constructed during 1884-1889 over same parade ground. It was originally constructed as market only.
Please try not to drink city’s poor quality water. Always drink/carry bottled water with you if you dont want to get sick. Stay safe and enjoy your trip!.

People in Pakistan are so welcoming and hospitable, but still be lil more careful when walking around the street alone, especially with a camera. I have travelled to Singapore, France, Belgium, Turkey, Malaysia, and UAE .most Pakistanis travel throughout the world in summer vacations. I'm glad to see that foreigners are also coming to our country. You must go to Northern pakistan. Naran ,babusar, hunza luxes, hunza Valley, skardu,Shangri-la resort , desan ,malam jabba .sawat , nathiagal and i manay more places are my favourite places in pakistan....

The streets you walked at from 0:00 onward, I have walked on them throughout my youth, left Pakistan for another country, and watching these videos is nostalgic.
Btw, you crossed the road at somewhere near 7 minutes where you said "like egypt", bro, always make sure to look ALSO at the other side of the road. Even if its a one way road. There could be a car/bike coming from the wrong side too. Its common in Pakistan. Just a heads up. Also, try to avoid holding your phone out on isolated streets, some professional snatchers (like in Brazil) can snatch it out of your hand while simultaneously handling their bike.
