I Found Osama bin Laden’s Compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan (SURREAL)

- In this vlog, I'm in Abbottabad, Pakistan to visit the site of Osama bin Laden's compound -- where in 2011, he was killed in a raid by Seal Team Six of the US Navy. The site is situated less than a mile from the Pakistan Military Academy, on a normal street in a quiet Abbottabad neighborhood. Bin Laden's house was demolished by Pakistani authorities shortly after the raid, but the foundation of the compound remains. In this video, I explore the compound and talk to neighbors about the events that happened here 12 years ago.

whitewashing of a terror state by a white..SURREAL!!
People of Pakistan are very innocent 😇 they play cricket and do xihaad 😊
Kid's in third world countries are scary 😮😢😢!!
This truly is incredible to see, thanks for making this video, it's so much better to see the real view rather than just from movies or studio productions. This is really cool, and I hope you kept a piece of that floor! 😀
I'm Brazilian and I'm going to visit Pakistan in January. The videos help a lot.
Its next to my cousins house locals just chuck rubbish there and no one in bilal town believes he was even there
See my channel for more videos on Pakistan. Enjoy your time in Pakistan this January.
You will love the food!
Dude me too I am visiting Pakistan 🇵🇰 in January
Do visit Lahore, we can shoot a vlog together 😂
Really goes to show that at the root, everyone is born with a good heart, and it’s something along the way that turns them. The kids are so sweet and nice
Yes, like these sweet kids have been taught to dislike India. Way too young to hold such hatred or be concerned about politics.
As their numbers grew they grew increasingly more rowdy. They quickly fell into the role of hustling tour guides asking for money and chipping pieces of the foundation. Even when he offered to buy them ice cream it was a hustle to them with them pulling at the man's ice cream and trying to tuck them away to try to get multiple and weirdly enough trying to hide them as if they weren't going to melt. Kids will be kids but when they couldn't respect the vendor giving them ice cream who actually spoke their language proper, it showed them really.
Perhaps they would never do that to their parents, but even its important to learn as a kid to respect those older. To have some structure of waiting your turn and not to grab at his hand and the vendors cooler. None of it was present. And then how they were apparently trying to hit the stray dog at the end. Cruel stuff. I can understand when kids are left alone and everyone wants to look cool in front of there friends but I think it went beyond that.
they just follow him around cus they want some money lol
@@IMaximusDMI I agree and you rarely see females because they are not allowed out the house, Looks like they dump rubbish in empty lots.
their still little animals. dont let ur guard down and relax too much or one of them may stab u in the back.
Children, are just children, they’re the same all around the world. It’s so awesome. It amazes me that many of the children speak English…..and such good English.
children hating on India right. very cute
They are future terrorists.
@@ankurgogia7163I don't think they even understand what that means. They are taught the chant and just repeat it. Which is not cute, you are right. This is how kids grow up to be evil towards other human beings.
@@brandonguild1666Yup and that is there I think both sides where Indian kids say the same thing for pakistan.
and yet meanwhile in the US you have to press 1 for English
Seeing all those kids swarm you especially the poor ice cream guy gave me flashbacks to the Iraq war where we loved to interact with the kids all of the time. I tried really hard as it’s apparent you were too, to leave the kids with a good experience or interaction. Being a foreign Soldier in their country and home it was important to always treat the kids this way. And thanks for the video of the former compound. What a surreal experience it must have been for you.
Thank you for what you’ve done. It’s appreciated to the highest my friend
As an Iraqi, when I was a kid I played soccer with the American soldiers in Iraq. I was 15! And now I’m 35!
@@abdullah.alomari It sounds like a good time playing soccer but I just hope you don’t hate Americans. A lot of us feel bad about what our country did there and I’m so terribly sorry if you were affected in any big way.
@@TitaniumTurbine No I don’t! I’m a US citizen too, I live in California since 2008.
These communities residing in abbotabad are quite well off.
I love your bonding time with those Pakistani children, they loves to accompany and entertain you a lot, especially when you treat them with some ice cream, they're so happy. Its so interesting to see Osama bin Laden's compound and hiding place after several years, how it exactly looks like now. I enjoyed watching your adventures in Pakistan. ❤️😍🇵🇰
Let not those who disbelieve think they will escape. Indeed, they will not cause failure [to Allah]. And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged. Quran 8:59-60
Just a step away from being Bin Laden-esque terrorists in training.....
whitewashing of a terror state by a white..SURREAL!!
LOL they were asking for money
All of the kids were afghans they are refugees they all speak pashto
Nice interviews! I had a great time cycling across Pakistan this summer. What a beautiful country. Enjoy your time there Doug!

whitewashing of a terror state by a white..SURREAL!!
The chaos with the kids 🤭 definitely made it very real 👏🏿👏🏿. Very nice including them. Shows the everyday life.
Very hyper kids
I love how it’s suppose to me something surreal or scary and in all reality it’s just a bunch of cute kids wanting signatures
Well the USA does have a history of twisting your perspective through the media and making things sound scary even thought it'd really not
And ice cream hahaha
whitewashing of a terror state by a white..SURREAL!!
I follow you from Iraq, I liked your clips in my country very much, we encourage you❤
Seeing those kids and how innocent and happy they are really speaks volumes. Nobody is born with hate in their heart. It’s a learned trait.
It's named after the British deputy commissioner of this region, Major James Abbott who also founded this city in 1853.
Doug trying to be serious the whole time, and the kids being so chill and funny like its their play territory 😂😂 is just so so Wholesome ❤
You are the only person who can say "I signed Children's hand on the remains of OBL compound" lol 😂

Sometimes I feel western media depicts the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan as a backwards people - these kids were like kids here.....beautiful video. And the fact that those kids can speak two languages is amazing.
@ctx126 there were Afghans who in 2009 didn’t know the Russians had left in 1989. They lived in tents and their farm animals also lived in the same tents.
I'm American I never thought Afghans were backwards In fact if you go back into the '70s Afghanistan was fairly a developed nation until the shah got overthrown. The problem we have right now is our media and the powers that be that manipulate the media. Especially right now the United States is going through some major problems at every angle. Pray that our general elections next year is a positive one. Any hope for the future will depend on this.
@@popcornfps Afghanistan had some very rural very underdeveloped provinces in the 70s. I’m not sure what the “Shah” an Iranian has to do with this
3/4 languages. Pashto, Urdu, English and possibly Hindko
No American kids are kept inside and yelled at and lorded over. These kids are playing outside. There are differences.
this is awesome thanks for the content!
Great job! I mean it, this is one of the most enlightening journalism possibly on TH-cam. And thank you.
thank you so much!!!
Excellent video my brother specially when there are kids on it, thank you for you to make it possible and I love the bond you have for those nice kids!!! thank you , from El Salvador CA
Thanks for making video on my City! Love from Abbottabad Pakistan 🥰❤️🔥
Greetings from America!
What I’ve been loving most about your Pakistan videos is that it truly shows how good the people of Pakistan are despite past relations with the US
Oh you mean like the Isis funding and training the Taliban and other terrorists to kill NATO soldiers while also claiming to be partners with the US ans NATO countries?
whitewashing of a terror state by a white..SURREAL!!
Yes wonderful people. Not exactly tidy. Perhaps a shithole if you will.
Pakistan used to be the backyard of Bush's War on Terror until Pakistan wanted to be shown more sovereignty. As usual the US snuck in and took out an enemy. in Pakistan's country without asking first.
@stevep-uo3cj ummm the war
amazing tour guides hats off to kids for being there for you to guide you everything.
Not one kid with a cell phone! It reminds me when I was a kid hanging out with my friends with no technology!
Same actually. And I'm 20. I don't like to think I'm that old but I am
The new generation is amazing 🇵🇰
Wow awesome video man! It really gives perspective to how difficult that operation must have been, I did think it was more isolated at the time thanks for the clarification! I was thinking the neighbors must have had some rounds come their way in the chaos!
I always love the interaction between you and the kids. My suggestion in the future, have the english speaking leader tell them all to get in line if they want an ice cream. Magically they will line up. I'm going with you on a trip hopefully a year from now. I hope you will still be doing them.

Forgive me, I just typed similar up top a year later. Consider me a cover tune...
This is phenomenal. The kids breaking you a piece of the foundation off hahahaha

Fascinating... always wondered what happened to that place. And great job keeping your composure... true pro!
Really cool video. Well done Doug, first time watching but you gained another viewer!

Wow - takes some balls to fly a drone right next to a military base!
That's incredible. Truly amazed to look at it now. Great videos stay safe!
Those kids were super chill, thx for sharing
Seeing these kids made me cry. What has the media done to us?
This is incredible. Look at how friendly everyone is toward one another. This world needs some serious help and we need to be nicer to people. Peace to the world.
I'm super stoked for this...I just know this is one for the history books! Let's goo....
What a great video! Thanks for sharing!
This was fantastic reporting. Never would have imagined someone going there.
how narrow minded of you , must have led a sheltered life , eh ..you should get out more ...
What an amazing video. This was such an in-depth tour of the compound and it’s exactly the kind of video tour I’d be looking for since I’ll probably never visit Pakistan. Thank you for capturing the innocence of the sweet children and great hospitality of the locals. Also, I couldn’t help but think about how VALUABLE a fragment of the original compound is! Such a cool souvenir.
Out of 900+ comments this is the best one I could find. Great explanation
Dude, you now have an international following and you didnt even have to try. It was almost effortless. The kids were the best part of the video. :)
Thx. 4 sharing. Plz make alot more

You are great with children, patience that's what it takes, and you took interest in each one. ❤❤
Super COOL video! Thank you.
Thank you very much for that video.
Love it and how spontaneous you were with all those kiddos 🤍✨. Like wow! It’s surreal and cute at the same time🤍🤍
Thanks for this very interesting video.
Cute kids but very rowdy😂
Those Pashtun children really made it sound so enjoyable. They were just curious. Also look at the nature that has taken over the compounds. Shows Nature wins at the end.
Very intresting how the kid also knew you were looking for the compound. Must mean other people came here before you to see it
A lot of them are hindko people who are similar to Pashtuns but speak a different language, just to clarify
@@Sahd079 they are speaking Pashto in the video, not Hindko
There Pashtun. Notice the women also wearing our Traditonal Yousafzai chail Veil. I know my People. Anyways still great kid. Very helpful

This was amazing. Great questions for the locals
As a Pakistani-American, I try my best to convince everyone to see Pakistan once. I have traveled to 100 countries so far, Pakistan is in my top 10, and its not bias. Food is incredible, people are so hospitable, and the country is inexpensive. I have been a few times but cannot wait to explore more of the country. I see these children and it brings me joy. Life is so difficult over there, yet they are so happy with what they have.
I have to visit. But I will need a tour guide to see more than what I will see if I go at it alone.
sorry bro , too much of a risk . ending up kidnapped or robbed and constantly staying with fear not to be harrassed . u can t fight back there
You can say that about plenty of countries. I still keep moving as I want to see the world in its entirety and that outweighs everything@@MTGnEWbie420

Awesome video. Thank you
Just goes to show that time marches on. You are brave to travel there. I wouldn't dream of setting foot there. Glad to see it's way different than how I pictured it. Excellent video, I think the kids made it better 😊
"Brave to travel there?" "I wouldn't dream of setting foot there"? Dude calm down. It's not an active war zone. Its just a normal town mostly known for housing the wealthy families.
@@Sohailali1 as someone who's never been there, the area looks anything but for the wealthy. I've heard Abbottabad mentioned many times and not in a positive light. It's not that far off to assume this is an area I never want to find myself in.

I’ve never done signatures like this at osamas compound LMAO! 💀😂Omg those kids are adorable haha
I was thinking how horrible it must have been for those kids being near all that chaos that night. Then I realized it was 12 years ago, I’m getting old!
It was over before anyone knew what happened. Wasn’t really chaos.

Great video!
I can promise you it wasn’t a coincidence that his compound was near a military installation. Pakistans intelligence agency has always been shady
Pakistan intelligence agency. Isi is world rank no.1 agency and that is not hundred percent sure that Usman is killed here even that guy said. The person they killed hear is a normal Pakistani dude and there is another news or rumours of Osama killed about year or two after this accident to a whole different place. So no one sure about it yet which one is authentic.
Some number 1 agency 😂 terrorist attack every day 🤷🏾♂️

Intelligence agencies of other countries are not shady at all
@@jackripper5054 because terrorist are not that easy to stop no matter how strong agency is. America did stayed in Afghanistan for 2 decades and still can't stop terrorism. I would usually say something ignorant like "big balls going over there'.. but now Im brought back down to earth and remember everyone is human.. I learned alot from this video. thanks for sharing it.

If someone stays inside all day, everyday and has a giant wall surrounding their property, that’s not that surprising. Gotta remember that we had a BIG reward out for him and people knew that. If they saw him, they would have reported it and it was a courier that went to the property who actually reported the situation to the US military.

pakistan was ruled by the british for about 150 years so theres a lot of english ruminants. in fact most people there do not hate americans or america and would probably do anything to get an american visa. obviously they probably arent big fans of the american wars in iraq afghanistan syria etc

This is the story the world wants to see. People dont want war but bad people and governments do. Everyone wants to be left alone and live together peacefully.
This was so surreal, I remember when this happened, such a big moment in US history. It was great getting to see the spot of the compound, “meet” some of the locals, and probably the coolest thing to me, was speaking to that man who lived nearby the compound and sort of explained what happened.
I mean, we all pretty much know how the mission went down, and I don’t feel like I learned anything new, but hearing a first-hand account from someone who was there is pretty neat nonetheless!
Thank you sharing this experience with us!
