Complete agree. I like Andor and don’t like that Theory doesn’t like it but it’s his opinion. He’s free to like and dislike whether even if I think he’s wrong about Andor.
It seems like this controversy is more about SWT appearing on podcasts with Nerdrotic, GeeksnGamers, and RK Outpost. As soon as you're seen with that group, people tend to label you as a right-wing MAGA conservative, even though he's Canadian.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, this is typical behavior of people. When you're on top of the mountain, people are always going to be gunning for you. Regardless of the platform.

First time I’ve seen this channel and I’m subscribing cos of this video. It’s great to see content creators with principles and advocates for open discussion. Been a fan of Theory for years and it’s great to see the fans rally to support him
I blame the media for this recent black-and-white approach to criticism, with how when a show fails it due to "toxic fans". There's no room for discussion anymore, you're either right or wrong. I experienced this earlier today on a post about the Rings Of Power. I saw someone commenting how "it's funny how all the haters are trying desperately to stop us from watching this show." I asked; "How? surely no one can stop you from watching a show just as much as you can't force someone to watch it if they don't like it." I was branded an enabling troll and told by another how I was proof people should take an intelligence test before being allowed access to the internet. The classic "I'm not stupid, your stupid" argument I see all too often these days. -_-
Following theory for years. He has NEVER advocated anything other then honest discussions about shows, books and the SW universe. That is it, just a discussion, he has never pushed ppl either way. He has been open if you agree or disagree with him and has never made it about that. You said it, his channel is about critiquing SW NOT agreeing with everything. It is beyond ridiculous they are attacking him. I see also a lot about "woke". I don't think this really has anything to do with it anymore. I really feel social media and the general direction of humanity coupled with politics makes this like a team sport. You are either with me or against me but not in-between. It is sadly the way EVERYTHING is headed, we as a society just need to put up our hands and say, stop, this is enough and call it for what it is. Calling it woke or on the flip side sexist is lazy, it just is. That is the lazy persons way out of a discussion or opinion. Tell me WHY you feel the way you do which allows for a dialogue. We as a society have lost this ability to just have a discussion and have fun with it when we disagree on something and trying to understand the other side. You can be passionate but also compassionate at the same time. It isn't always easy but we can do it and we are making it way harder then it needs to be.
The Acolyte is the most trashy thing I've seen or heard since I took out the trash last week on my block...smelt just as bad too. Right now, the most important thing to acknowledge is amazing life of James Earl Jones, RIL Mr Vader, loved your work - you are a King, always.
I find it so strange that the Star Wars fanbase of all the fanbases need to be told this in the first place. Like, lets not forget that there were people who liked the prequels when the majority thought it sucked. This should not be new!
The old fanbase is gone. Apathy has driven the vast majority away. What is left is the group of rabid sheep that Disney cultivated with their identity politics.
Star Wars Theory has more power over Star Wars than any Legacy Media outlet. A video from him will move the needle on a Star Wars property more than an interview on Entertainment Tonight, or on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, or even an article in Vanity Fair. Unlike those outlets, Disney cannot bully SWT into toeing whatever the current party line is. And for that reason, SWT needs to go. SWT is likely going to cost Disney MILLIONS of dollars simply by saying "I didn't like this." to his 3+ Million subscribers. And I mean DISNEY, not just Star Wars, because if you want Star Wars, you have to pay for Disney+. If just 1% of his audience decided to NOT buy Disney+ for 1 year because of SWT, you're looking at $2.88 million dollars lost by disney for a single year. (likely more than that as I'm using $8 as the price for D+, and it's more than that in many places now) So Disney is using pawns (Star Wars Explained, Rewriting Ripley, etc.) to destroy SWT by associating him with passionate critics of Woke. They want people to think of Gary from Nerdrotic when they think of SWT, or to wonder why SWT has a Black logo instead of a Green logo (like Geeks & Gamers has), and expect that when watching SWT, he's going to be loud and angry about his criticisms, so people won't even click in the first place. They aren't going after his channel DIRECTLY - they've already tried that in the past and it had no effect, so they're trying to smear him by associating him with the people who are actively supporting him. And while they haven't rolled a Natural 1 yet, they keep rolling up fails so bad that SWT and the Fandom Menace don't even have to actively defend themselves, they just need to keep being who they are and the Fans are able to tell who's the bad actor in all of this.
SWT isn't costing Disney millions of dollars. Disney is costing Disney millions of dollars. I never even heard of SWT until this whole kick these TH-camrs off TH-cam movement started. This whole movement to get the critics silenced has drawn more attention to Disney's crap and these channels than anything the actual critics have said. We've all seen these interviews with cast and producers saying "this isn't for you so don't watch" and then blame the fans for it tanking. it's a tired trend that just isn't working for them. Disney has done this so much in recent years that anytime they start attacking the fans before a movie or show comes out you know it's going to suck.
As someone who liked Acolyte, Ahsoka, Kenobi, etc Ive come to see that if you say anything negative regarding Disneys SW content they target you as a hater or toxic fan or other horrible things all because of having separate opinions from those who enjoyed it. Im. I get it “If you don’t like it don’t watch it.” That’s what they did and that’s what the majority did and it led to the cancellation of Acolyte, and what happened next? “Oh it’s because of all the fan haters.” All Disney wants is “Don’t ask questions, just consume the content and get excited for the next content.”
"Silencing anyone who doesn't tow the line." Exactly. Very fascist. It's abhorrent behavior and those trying to do it are anything but the "good" people.
I would argue Acolyte did way more damage than Last Jedi or any of the other D+ shows that came before, the problem with all the Disney slop is that it does not live up to the standards of what made Star Wars so great as a cultural phenomenon and its like you say if newer stuff don’t live up to that then its not worth being canonized if its lore breaking but we get blasted for having criticisms or objecting to how these projects are made
The people who went after SWT and others like Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, and Mauler did more than try and get them banned off the platform. They broke YT's rules in organizing a targeted harassment campaign, which opens them up to litigation. Also, they would've done more damage by opening up a can of worms, as their success would potentially give others a way to take down anyone they didn't like.
The wider campaign against Star Wars Theory and other honest criticism channels like Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, Geeks and Gamers is about silencing them and a twisted hypersensitivity to “bigotry” that is simply wrong. Bigotry and the other -isms that plague our society must be pointed out and fought, but this is so not the way. Go after the REAL kind that hurts people. It’s sure not hard to find. Directing vicious attacks at someone who has never shown bigotry but expresses opinions about shows that you disagree with just adds to the toxic noise and can do real harm to someone who does not in any way deserve it. And trying to strip away his livelihood is just plain evil. The second point I want to make is that the motivation of the couple who run the TH-cam channel leading the hate campaign against Theory, Star Wars Explained, is different. This is clear from the history of the interactions between Theory and the Star Wars Explained couple, as clearly shown in the sequence of communications Theory shows in his video on this. No, their motivation is pure and simple jealously combined with greed. They saw how quickly Theory’s TH-cam channel grew because of his creativity, passion, and hard work. The communication sequence and the timing of the hate campaign launch show that there was jealousy and greed because of a they thought it was a zero sum game and Theory was sucking up the views and interest that the older channel wanted for themselves. They believe that if they can remove Theory, they will get his views and income, simple as that. These attacks are all about money.
It’s genuinely sad that Star Wars used to be such a great community and people used to be able to debate about it. And after that we’d just laugh at JarJar (love that MF he’s hilarious) And oddly ever sense Disney bought it, it’s seemed to be a community we’re u have to be all in or your public enemy number 1 Idk if it’s just me who noticed that odd coincidence or not but what ever
@@willwolf8436 Mate, that's the Star Wars fandom in general. Yeah, a lot of Disney SW fans behave like a cult. That is true. But the other side is just as insufferable. One of my criticisms of Theory is how, at least in my opinion, inclined he is of calling people "Disney shills" for merely liking Disney Star Wars. But at least he still sticks for the most part to the things he does like. He gives things a fair shot and gives his honest opinion about it. Other channels, however, immediately write off anything Disney does with Star Wars and hang on the most insignificant of details just to justify their increasingly irrational hatred of Disney (Geeks + Gamers, for example). It's downright obsessive. Both sides think themselves better than the other, but they're the exact same kind of human scum. You hate Disney Star Wars? Then you're a racist, homophobic bigot. You like Disney Star Wars? You're a woke Disney shill.

He has done a lot for the Star Wars community and I have a lot of respect and love for him. Especially his talks channel which he has actually helped me through a lot of problems.

Disney is turning into the empire and everyone who doesn't jump on board with every new project gets thrust into the toxic rebellion! How did the movies turn out?
I'll be honest if I was Star wars theory I would have noped out a long time ago the moment higher-ups at lucasfilms mocked him for getting emotional over that Luke Skywalker scene in the mandalorian he should have just said to hell with it all
I don’t dislike SWT because of his opinion on the acolyte. I dislike him because he built a career off of narrating wookiepedie articles and stollen fan fiction. He breeds a type of toxicity in the SW fandom that is terrible for everyone. His opinions on Star Wars are generally toxic and his diehard fans are even worse.
Funny how all of this stems from Star Wars Explained being a Jealous Jenny, and acting Jelly every single time he saw him upload a YT vidya. Someone really should've called the Jelly School and made him enroll. All it takes is just a quick phone call and they'll get ya in there and work on it.

Yeah, I’ve been following Star Wars theory since late 2016 early 2017 at best from what I can remember we just need to keep speaking our minds and keep speaking our opinions what Disney is doing right and also the people who support Disney who want to cancel him for just for speaking out and speaking his mind on something that he didn’t like.
The problem is these ppl say all these channels were being hateful and bigots but with the internet you can look up and find evidence yet no has made any clips or compilations of him being racists or anything like that. You’re racists if you hate all this new Disney stuff with diverse characters but how come we were never called racists for hating disneys Luke skywalker?
lets just remember these people going after him arent like a majority of star wars fans. its these acolyte fans who wherent big enough to get the show a season 2. anything happens to his channel i think that will make waves in the commenters space and the right to speak out opinions will be topic of conversation and youtube will get a bad look if voicing opinions suddenly is worth taking away monetization.
SWT has a much larger audience compared to SWE, Disney knows, if left to his own devices, SWT's voice will turn their failed project (aka The Acolyte) into a rotten mush. Which is why they try to prop up the smaller, more vulnerable "underdog", SWE to help the 2 gals to fight against the tyranny of SWT. Hoping that by doing this, it will help them salvage something out of The Acolyte.
Theory is the one dude who most doesn't fit their already bogus narrative of the "toxic" Star Wars fan. He gives his honest opinion and doesn't sugarcoat. Normally that's a respectable trait but not in the eyes of these loonies. They throw the word toxic around like confetti but they're the ones spewing venom. Trying to cancel this guy for his opinion is just another example.
It’s crazy to me that he has always been positive about Star Wars, and that he voices his opinion, he’s being labeled a racist from these people. It’s crazy.
I guess to be fair to the 'other side', Theory has been critical of a lot of Disney Star Wars so a lot of the fans of that might see him as someone who frequently dislikes/hates the new stuff they do. Then again 90% of Disney Star Wars is shit anyway so his opinion is completely valid and he doesn't deserve to be called every name under the sun, and he definitely doesn't deserve to be demonitized or punished for his opinion.
The hatred towards Star Wars theory and anybody that Disney Star Wars comes from the reactions to both the last jedi and rise of skywalker. Star's theory was also attacked for his reaction to Luke in the mandalorian season 2 finale.
I watch stupendous wave and he pretty much had the same takes. No one came at him. And I think that's because he mainly kept to himself all these years. Community is toxic af.
funny thing is star wars theory was one of the last fans that actually thought ahsoka and the new content like mando was great 😂 now disney pushed even him away its hilarious
First, let me thank you guys for this video. Second, for people to be mad at Star Wars Theory (and I have been following him for years) is sheer crazy, all started by the actress making false claims against him. She basically committed career suicide because any studio worth their salt is not going to hire her. Third, all of this animosity for Star Wars comes from the 20 year void of content from Lucas who does like to listen to anyone. Had Marcia Lucas not edited A New Hope, it would have been one and done. If Original producers, specialist and actors (Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and so one) didn't challenge or speak to Lucas to make the necessary changes, Star Wars would not be here. If it wasn't for the fans who bought every toy, comic, novel, costume, etc., Star Wars would not be even a memory. At the time of Phantom Menace, Lucas hired a lot of young people (people new to industry but very talented) who YES him to death but did not make meaningful critiques of his work. The Prequel was sub-par compared to Original Trilogy. Here is where the frustration of the fans comes in, but in that cloud of frustration were people who are sick and demented who fueled negativity rather than constructive criticism. It is sad that a negative word gets more attention than a positive critique or constructive comment. On a brighter note, although it is negative, more people know who Star Wars Theory is than they did before, so maybe he can use this to his advantage. One final thought, If Lucas and Disney just decided to produce the Expanded Universe and not create this SW WOKE CRAP, then not one fan would be upset. We all would been happy with bliss YUB-NUBbing like those Ewoks at the end of ROTJ (original, not remake). I wish Star Wars can be fun, exciting and entertaining as it was as we remembered it to be. Thanks for your time.
These days you can't criticize anything if the woke community likes it and that is ridiculous. People can't handle opinions anymore and think being offended by someone makes that other person some criminal.

There's been some BAD quality stuff out of Star Wars for a while now. If we're expected to always love everything and anyone who has any part in it, then that's completely unreasonable and unrealistic. The race/religion/orientation/etc etc of any performer should never require everyone to worship them and adore their every effort at performing. Just because someone thinks their effort was poor and the writing on something is bad is no reason to write them off as the terrible things people are saying. Are there hateful people in the world? Of course. Is every person who doesn't cherish and adore all efforts at Star Wars a hateful person? No!
Great video lads, I agree! Wanting to get him demonetized cause they simply don't like him is wild. It's literally the equivalent of "He doesn't agree with my opinion, I want him fired."
Huh, that sounds like what happened to Gina when you put it like that basically 😅
Hey - weak managers do that.
This is a very good point that is great you pointed out. Because just stating "These are my opinions" doesn't give anybody a free ticket to say whatever sh*t they want with zero consequences. But SWT opinions and critiques were never offensive, racist or disrespectful of anybody and that makes a BIG difference.
They say the "haters" promote hate and harassment, but I have never once seen them promote hate or harassment, merely together to talk about a show, debate, and meme. Its akin to when I gathered my friends to watch and laugh at madame web. On the flip side, I see harassment campaigns and cancellation campaigns against them more than once.
I've followed theory since 2017/2018, not ONCE have I seen anything the calls for all the hate towards him. Sure I don't agree with some of his takes but that's why we all have our own opinion
Exactly, everyone has the right to their own opinions. It's called the 1st Amendment!
Same I think I’ve followed him since I don’t know what 2016 15 I don’t know man. But I’ve seen how considerate and respectful he’s always been and he’s been consistent.
Me too bro, been watching Theory SINCE THE BEGINNING, dude is chill, it’s that simple.
Remember that dude that watched Ep9 teaser and was crying. I remember Theory was the only one NOT making fun of that guy. Both side of the political spectrum was making fun of that guy. Right leaners for getting “emotional over Disney trash”, people on the left calling that dude “example of how much man children are in the fandom.”
@@JohnWilliams-wl9px He’s only acting this way to defend himself. It’s so stupid that people or fans that like or dislike something a show presents that despite presenting a valid argument or opinion is considered misogynistic or racist. Ad hominems if you asked when used like that purpose. Just stupid man.
It’s because he just genuinely loves Star Wars and is a good person. If there’s one thing people hate is a genuine person, the treatment he’s getting on twitter is mind boggling - how can people be so invested in such a hateful, negative mindset and try ruin someone’s life over opinions I’ll never understand.
Apparently the people who started this hate campaign openly admitted years ago to losing sleep because they saw SWT's channel getting more views and success than theirs did. It's jealousy manifesting as hatred
Star Wars Theory is the only reason I haven’t stopped watching Star Wars all together
LMFAO! 🤣
Short story:
Theory isn't the biggest fan of Andor, a show that felt like a breath of fresh air drenched in serious undertones in the Disney SW. I believe he called it, AnBORE. Yet I still sub to him and follow him to this day.
Weird how not being an unhinged fan or creator with mental health issues is different than the "fans" that wish death and ruin on anyone that disagrees with their opinion.
Same here, although I did dislike the bricks until the final few episodes the amount of visceral hatred and people calling him a crybaby without looking inwards at themselves, amazes me
That's becauxe the toxic positive cloud I.E the people who say things like I don't care its Star Wars are the type of emotionally stunted still mentally adolcdnt people who to them Star Wars and really all media they consume is a part of them which why to them its personal attacks to say Star Wars has been shit since at least 2017
Complete agree. I like Andor and don’t like that Theory doesn’t like it but it’s his opinion. He’s free to like and dislike whether even if I think he’s wrong about Andor.
They aren't going after him for his opinions, they want to remove a competitor.
This is exactly what I told him in a comment.
I didn’t even watch The Acolyte because Disney me already lost me. Disney ruined Star Wars for me. Until they clean house at Lucasfilm there is no going back.
I don’t like SWT anymore, personally don’t like the direction he’s taken, but that being said the hunt against him is ridiculous.
You preferred the fan theories over discussion and news?
Stop yapping
Same I stopped watching him because it came across more how his opinion will change based off fan feedback.
@@JohnWilliams-wl9px No, he clearly has his own opinions. He reacts to episodes live without looking at chat. We know his thoughts from the get go. You'll notice on those Livestreams that most of his opinions will be in regards to the breaking of canon, and he'll bring it up almost immediately after the episode ends or whatnot.
@@JohnWilliams-wl9px glad I’m not alone.
First time I’ve seen this channel and I’m subscribing cos of this video. It’s great to see content creators with principles and advocates for open discussion.
Been a fan of Theory for years and it’s great to see the fans rally to support him
That fact that having a different opinion on a topic may cause you to lose your job/source of income is wild
I blame the media for this recent black-and-white approach to criticism, with how when a show fails it due to "toxic fans". There's no room for discussion anymore, you're either right or wrong.
I experienced this earlier today on a post about the Rings Of Power.
I saw someone commenting how "it's funny how all the haters are trying desperately to stop us from watching this show."
I asked; "How? surely no one can stop you from watching a show just as much as you can't force someone to watch it if they don't like it."
I was branded an enabling troll and told by another how I was proof people should take an intelligence test before being allowed access to the internet. The classic "I'm not stupid, your stupid" argument I see all too often these days. -_-
You guys absolutely nail this and you are being so polite and respectful about this discussion, as adults should be. Thank you
The acolyte taught us the power of many
Following theory for years.
It's not even just the fandom just people in general can't take criticism anymore
The acolyate really is a shitty position to die on, simply because she show is so bad.
The ai voices creep me out with the real people
The Acolyte is the most trashy thing I've seen or heard since I took out the trash last week on my block...smelt just as bad too. Right now, the most important thing to acknowledge is amazing life of James Earl Jones, RIL Mr Vader, loved your work - you are a King, always.
Does your stormtrooper helmet have the green tint on the eyes?
(likely more than that as I'm using $8 as the price for D+, and it's more than that in many places now)
So Disney is using pawns (Star Wars Explained, Rewriting Ripley, etc.) to destroy SWT by associating him with passionate critics of Woke.
"if you want Star Wars, you have to pay for Disney+" oh, is that so ....🏴☠
As someone who liked Acolyte, Ahsoka, Kenobi, etc Ive come to see that if you say anything negative regarding Disneys SW content they target you as a hater or toxic fan or other horrible things all because of having separate opinions from those who enjoyed it.
I would argue Acolyte did way more damage than Last Jedi or any of the other D+ shows that came before, the problem with all the Disney slop is that it does not live up to the standards of what made Star Wars so great as a cultural phenomenon and its like you say if newer stuff don’t live up to that then its not worth being canonized if its lore breaking but we get blasted for having criticisms or objecting to how these projects are made
Nothing about Star wars is worth defending anymore
love you guys's vibe, its like those 2 troopers on the speeders in mando s1
It’s nice to see people in this fandom having Theory’s back.
The petition sent to TH-cam doesn’t mention Star Wars Theory to be demonitised 🤦🏽♀️ it talks about 3 other YT channels.
It’s genuinely sad that Star Wars used to be such a great community and people used to be able to debate about it. And after that we’d just laugh at JarJar (love that MF he’s hilarious)
And oddly ever sense Disney bought it, it’s seemed to be a community we’re u have to be all in or your public enemy number 1
Idk if it’s just me who noticed that odd coincidence or not but what ever
Like anakin said: if you're not with me, then you are my enemy. That's disney star wars cult fandom in a nutshell.

He has done a lot for the Star Wars community and I have a lot of respect and love for him. Especially his talks channel which he has actually helped me through a lot of problems.

Thanks for supporting SWT. I'd encourage everyone to go watch his video where he talks more in depth about the background of the people who are trying to get him demonetized.
If you cut out a man's tongue youre not proving him a liar, you're simply telling the world youre afraid of what he might say.
We are with you, Star Wars Theory.
"IT's one thing to disagree with someone" - your words! And that is correct, but it is toxic to DRONE on and on about negative criticism. There is a wide gulf between voicing your opinion and railing on and on - all this stuff is months old now. Let it go
It really is awesome to see so many sticking up for those who've had all this unwarranted hate towards them. The irony of these inclusive fans in this community never fails to amaze me!
Funny how the side who constantly preaches about being loving and kind people are in fact, the most hateful
I stopped listening to him when he started saying that Andor was a bad show because they used the wrong bricks in their architecture
I just found that hilarious. A hiccup on his end, but that was it. Like a “yeah, whatever” type of deal for me.
As a proud member of the toxic part of the fandom, he aint one of us
You know a star wars show is bad when ya mom comes to you and asks "what the fuck is this!? It isnt even star wars!?" Had that happen to me lol

@@lalame92 Yes, coordinated by the one guy, who has prior weird beef.
The channel “Star wars explained”actions have been completely out of hand. Attacking ST and others is just sad.
People can't handle opinions anymore and think being offended by someone makes that other person some criminal.
both sides show this exact behaviour tho lmao

Yay thanks for sticking up for him.
neutral commentator who doesn't take sides = right wing conservative!
Having watched Theory and Drunk3po I don't see anything that is hateful or grifting - they're providing a venue in which to say what we think.
Star Wars Theory is a very genuine, decent and pretty normal guy (just like yourselves); these radical spiteful extremists who preach "tolerance" are the least tolerant fans, and they are the REAL "toxic fandom". Just let the guy be honest and like and dislike what he wants, it's totally natural to like and dislike things, just accept that he doesn't like it and just think "fair enough, but I liked it", and treat each other with respect! Whatever happened to that; mutual respect? It's gone. There's no need to try and take the guy's income because he doesn't agree, that's disgraceful and shameful behaviour. Unfortunately they see themselves as the "good guys", but they are the bad guys. SHAME on them. Anyway, I love the channel guys, such a brilliant concept! Keep up the good work
Well to be fair he was highly critical of Amandala but it was deserved seeing as how he she was constantly attacking the fans before the show was even out.
Why? Because he is getting more views on his videos than Disney is getting on there actual shows.
If Disney actually listened to Star Wars Theory and other Star Wars commentary channels or even consulted them to see what they would like to see I think Star Wars could be great Star Wars is built by the fans even if people like it or hate it
i wouldnt be surprised if explained was getting money behind the scenes from disney to tow the woke line and attack anyone who doesnt
