- The New Head Boom MP, a completely new addition to Head's range of rackets. That should offer a supreme feel with good power and spin. Achieving that by implementing the Auxetic technology and changing the shape of the head of the racket. That would all sound great if we wouldn't have already playtested the Boom Pro, which to our disappointment was a bit of a fail. So we thought, what could be better in the lighter version of the same racket. Well pretty much everything and not just better. The Head Boom MP surprised us in the best possible way!

I got the BOOM MP and add 4g in the head (1g at 3hr - 1g at 9hr - 1g at 10hr - 1g at 2hr) and 4g in the handle. It’s amazing, very solid and more power controled. I use hyper G at 51lbs.
great video....Im using a 360+ extreme mp, looking for same forgiveness but a bit more of touch and control on direct shots....would you recomend this racket over the speed mp? thanks a lot!!!

Hey Glads, I currently use a Pure Drive 2018 and I hit with a lot of spin in my shots. As I've progressed, I feel the power is too much for me and I'd like to shift to a more control-oriented racquet that would still support my highly-western topspinny (if that’s a word, but u know what i mean 🤦🏽😆) forehand. I have a flat backhand tho, so am a little bit worried to shift to the Aero. I am currently looking at the 2022 Boom MP and Speed MP, also Pure Aero *VS* and Vcore 98 on the side. A general suggestion for a frame would be good from you guys 😄 Thank you!
what did you decide between the boom mp and the speed mp or speed pro?

Missed it again! Anyway. Coincidentally, i’m also changing my forehand! Used to use a extreme-eastern like Delpo, but that was getting hard to control, so now i’ve gone more extreme like a Berettini style forehand, and it’s better. I’m still trying to adjust and not trying to slap the ball heh 👋 you should make a vid on what your changing and why! It’ll be cool to watch. Also Head really failed the ‘Isometric’ looking head shape didn’t they! Funny how they are Head but can’t get the head right haha 😂 sorry that was silly. Loved the review, and I’m hoping for a Wilson Clash 100 PRO v2 review!! Good luck on your forehand Grisha, and continue the great work guys!! I am determined not to miss the next video 😏

How would you compare the boom mp with the gravity mp (my current racquet)?
The Boom MP is softer, the gravity is more controlled.

Pretty much the way we've said it in the video. It's a better feeling and more stable but less spinny and powerful version of the Speed MP.

@@chung-mingwu5716 Here they're quite similar. The Speed maybe takes a slight advantage on the slice and the Boom on the flats.
Grisha can you take us through the process of reworking your forehand. It would be really interesting and helpful to us that also want to change our stroke technique.

Guys, I've been playing Wilson blade 18×20 V6 with a very control oriented setup for a while now, but lately I'm thinking about switching to less demanding racket and more spin friendly, do you have any advice or particular suggestions?
p.s. I don't like babolat banana or any babolat in fact😅
Yeah, the blade v8 16x19 is less demanding, more manœuvrable and very Nice, just like head extreme tour, tecnifibre rs 300 or tf40 16x19, they all play the same, very manœuvrable, good control, easy to use.
The head is my favorite Thanks to it's feel (tf 40 16x19 305 and blade v8 16x19 play and feel the same).
Well, it depends on how much more spin and power friendly you want it to be. The new blade is easier to play with for sure but it's still quite demanding. Something a bit more powerful and spinny could be the Head Gravity or the Head Extreme Tour for example.
@@gladiatorstribe yeah, Head is a real deal, grabbed gravity mp and speed mp for playtest this weak and so far I'm blown away. This rackets are not as stable as I used to play with, but it can be fixed by additional weight.
You guys definitely shape my mind on those rackets. Unlike Areg I like Nole, but my love goes to Gravity mp.

Thinking to buy BOOM MP, have played with Speed MP 360+ and Gravity MP 360+, can this BOOM MP feel like something in the middle of them ? Looking for arm/shoulder friendly racket with good feel, control and some power 😁
Yeah definitely, somewhere in between. Closer to the Speed MP in terms of power, spin and control 😉
@@gladiatorstribe tried today and was disapointed… may because demo BOOM MP was with RPM Blast strings at 25/24kg, felt stiff and boardy.
My Gravity MP 360+ played much better with more control and same power as BOOM MP, strings X-One Phase/ Luxilon Alu Power, 24/23kg.
@@mindaugasbogusevicius3196 Well, in this case it's more of a battle of strings rather than rackets. The setup on your Gravity MP is pretty much better at everything apart from spin which you didn't mention. Also, a kg lower tension helps with power. Try comparing them in a similar setup to get a better image 😉
How does it compare to Yonex Vcore 100 ?
A bit less powerful and more controlled.

I'd say they're pretty average. Nothin crazy but nothing too bad either. What do you think about them?

Nope, he isn't gonna be switching. Pretty much for the same reasons he's not switching to the Vcore 100.

I recommend you to test some ProKennex rackets. They are really underrated and probably the most armfriendly rackets available. The ProKennex Ki Black Ace Pro plays similiar to the Wilson Pro Staff's and I heard that the ProKennex Ki Q+5's are great for flat strokes.
And yes I suggest them because I play a ProKennex Ki Black Ace Pro. 😅

I tested it because I also heard good things about them. I live in Austria and I tested and bought it from Tenniswarehouse Europe. I think they offer that service in Spain too (I hope so at least).

Head Lynx Tour in the mains and Heady Lynx Touch in the crosses. You should try that :D

The Pure Strike is more controlled, this is more powerful and has better feel.

Great review, they had a Head demo day at the local club, I tried both Boom MP and Speed MP. For the Boom all grounds in court and great control, hmm Speed MP mostly out with a few hitting the back fence lol wtf, noting they both were the same weight. 🤔

Interesting. Generally the pro has being getting great reviews and the mp not soo much.
A racquet is extremely subjective and should always be tested by yourself. Everyone has a different technique, physical abilities, level of play. It's near impossible choosing a racquet based on random reviewers...
TennisNerd also preferred MP version. So it depends :)
They're usually very different rackets and in our case I usually prefer the pro while Areg tends to drift towards the MP. In case of the Boom, it was very obvious to us that Head nailed it with the MP and not so much with the Pro 😜 That's just our opinion though 🤭
