I wish more was brought up about what a character Homer Van Meter was. He was Dillinger's best friend. Man those guys lived from one minute to the next. & Never looked back. Those harsh awful long sentences made them do what they did after being released. They lived in the fast lane (or rollercoaster). Amazing American gangsters. Hardly any of em lived past 30.
This museum used to be in Nashville, Indiana in Brown County. We visited it several times and it was fascinating. Those wax figures, the death mask, the items Dillinger had in his pockets when he was killed. I hate it that it is so far away now. Anyone who has a chance to visit this museum should definitely go. It is awesome.
@@ontargetthomunclesam3926 The museum was in Crown Point, Indiana. I pulled up the website and it says "permanently closed." That is a shame. It was so interesting.
Interersting that -even at his museum- John Dillinger's name is STILL mispronounced! The Dillinger family spoke it with a hard "G" as in "Dill-in-GRRR" and never "Dill-un-jur"!
My home town!! I've been to the museum at least 5 times I live down the block from the visiter center. It's pretty cool.
Looks like a great stop for a day. Nice presentation.
