Just got one in England - £6,999 ($8,900) with a quickshifter thrown in. Only ABS and TC here, no option without. It's great value in England, £500 more than an MT07, but much better quality all round. With 94 bhp it's the best value you can have here. An MT09 has much more power, but the difference in insurance costs is huge. Excellent suspension, slipper clutch, quickshifter, floating discs, LEDs all round and a great stock sound. I'm delighted with it.

@Thgt Ggyh maybe if you're coming off a Tuono or Superduke, but I've owned one for a few weeks now and it ain't boring to me. Super linear powerband inspires confidence and makes it easy to thrash around, even for a fairly inexperienced rider like me. @Thgt Ggyh well, agree to disagree I guess. Can't say it feels anything even remotely like a 300-class bike, unless you're cruising below 6000 rpm all the time. No no, they need to keep the price where it is. I waited 6 months to get this bike as my first ride and then got tired of waiting for Honda to release it in the US and bought an MT07 instead. Every time I see a picture or video of the CB650R I start to feel a little pang of regret at my impatience (as much as I love my MT), but the $2,000 price difference is what helps me sleep at night.

When I ride my brothers 2014 CB500 ( which has the same horn/turn signal/low and high beam switch), I always hit the horn a few times instead of the turn signals lol.
Rick Sanchez here in the northeast MT09’s are a little more, this is priced right in between a 07 and a 09. I would rather own this, the 09’s are too wheelie happy, just by accelerating hard, makes for slower accelerations when your fighting it, and I personally prefer a i4’s power band
Excellent review - fun and facts. And always good to see the bike in action over a realistic journey. Good bike too - that price is high but likely soon forgotten over something like an mt07 - great fun, but many more shortcomings. And a bigger bike for everyday use? Forever hitting the 'sensible' speed limits far too soon and probably with less fun. A smallish I4 is a treat.
Where i live the mt07 is 7 grand and cb650r is 8500, for that price difference you get a inline 4 engine and a bike with much better build quality. If the price was 8 grand it would be perfect.
Pickle Dill get your facts straight, apples to apples dealership retail pricing on those two models are $1,500-1,800 apart, let’s not talk about discounts that’s chalk and cheese.
What's wrong with that ? There is no rule saying you have to start in 1. Most people just start in 1 because the motor has more torque . When I used to race professionally I experimented with gate launches of 1, 2nd and even 3rd. Depending on how quickly the turn came up from the gate at the start of the race
I've really like this and it's CBR counterpart, but like you said that price gives me pause. There are simply other bikes in that price and/or CC range that seems like better options. Honda has high powered V twins that would serve the 650 twins well, possibly bringing down the msrp making them a great bike for the value or at least that's what I think. Finally great vid but if you can turn off traction control on demand, you can also wheelie on command.

The camera was mounting a little down , more than one time , I found me self scrolling up trying to look up , Nice review BTW
Yep agreed. When stationary its ok, but once moving Adam tends to lean down a little bit. Bias it up when still and it should work great. But I'm just happy MC commute is continuing on a free platform with another great host!
When I ride my brothers 2014 CB500 ( which has the same horn/turn signal/low and high beam switch), I always hit the horn a few times instead of the turn signals lol.
Your ridding makes me nervous- love your reviews
Definitely need a video on how to wheelie and “back it in”. Great review, plan to get the MY21
Yes finally!!!
This is the alter ego to Motorman's "Ride Like a Pro".
Good job Waheed
This bike looks so good
Thanks for the review Adam! 😊👍
Nice review I like this MC commute better. It is more technical, more to the point.
Great looking motorcycle
Looks very good but it cost the same as a MT-09
Not in Thailand.
The best sounding in class.
Adam playing with the gas cap at the light makes me realize that all bikers are the same😂
Excellent review - fun and facts. A smallish I4 is a treat.
please do a 2019 MT-07 MC Commute video...
Those intakes are a dealbreaker.
The Headers Or Exauhst Pipes Are Fresh AF
Top review all perfectly explained.
I guess I have been looking at too many Indians or European motorcycles, but this CB650R sure seems nice to me for $8,990.
Where i live the mt07 is 7 grand and cb650r is 8500, for that price difference you get a inline 4 engine and a bike with much better build quality. If the price was 8 grand it would be perfect.
20:35 - 21:01 Great skills there, mate.
Great review Adam. I think I’d buy the Suzuki GSX s750 which is roughly $800-1,000 less and gives you and additional 30hp.
Gsx s 1000 is basically the same price as the s750
Pickle Dill no it’s not.
@@pistolpete6321 go to cycle trader type in gsx s 1000 500 mile range they are like 7-8k new discounted
Pickle Dill get your facts straight, apples to apples dealership retail pricing on those two models are $1,500-1,800 apart, let’s not talk about discounts that’s chalk and cheese.
Didn't realize it was orange county until the very end of the video. Guess I paid too much attention on that bike 😂
Nice review, New subs here...keep it up MAN
“Let’s back her in” lmao😂 great review man
lennon Krane I like how they show the capabilities and dynamic of the bikes they ride now lollll
woody Dupont dude me too I’m all for it
lennon Krane do you know how to back it in?
11:15 Of the line in 2nd?
What's wrong with that ? There is no rule saying you have to start in 1. Most people just start in 1 because the motor has more torque .
When I used to race professionally I experimented with gate launches of 1, 2nd and even 3rd. Depending on how quickly the turn came up from the gate at the start of the race
This video sold me I'm off to buy one.❤️it
Same the only thing I’m missing is 8,890 dollars 😂
Love these videos!
Nice job Adam! 💯👍🏽🏍🇺🇸
Damn, you guys are getting fleeced! In Canada, the ABS version stickers for $7200 USD.
@@Schusy123 That's insane!
fuck lol 14k is just too much! here in Manila it's worth USD9k
Wish honda would make more exiting bikes. They are well made yet there is nothing special. Atleast Yamaha has torque machines
do a wheelie in the office car-park next time lol
Great bike.
Nice looking bike. I like the retro look
Awesome beautiful bike, ride and review, all the best. I wish we had lane splitting here in New England.
This guy is such a fucking good rider.
You did almost 60mph in 1st gear? mind blown! 18:10
@Bunnyshooter 223
*slaps fuel tank*
this bad boy can do 60mph in 1st gear 😎
This guys def in San Diego I’ll be in town with my own CB this summer 🥰
We want to see more mc commute!
Very good review. Been looking for a new bike and I saw a CB650 R at a dealer but wasn't sure about it for the price.
I think they should do a 5OOR. This 650 would be too buzzy for me.
The usual informative and interesting review.
👌🏻review, thankyou, cheers from 🇦🇺.
