In America those little glass vials were used for packaging for glass beads before plastic became popular. I enjoy watching a mother and daughter work so wonderfully together. It makes me miss my mom .

I found my workmate's partial dentures in a client's garden we were maintaining together yesterday, I saved him a bunch of money. He was sick with worry to the point he still felt sick after I found them.

My husband called me at the hospital one night in the wee hrs to tell me he needed to go to the dentist. Strange as he hated going. Turns out he had removed his dentures and placed them in a paper towel while watching TV. He always cleaned up his scatter of paper towels and checked the wood stove before retiring..."I think I threw my teeth in the fire." Devastated! He was so self conscious. His new ones never felt right 😳

    Hello.
I live in Northern California. I can't go "mudlarking" in our oceans as the beaches are protected by the state.
I am a "thing finder" and I am always picking up odd bits and putting them in my pockets.
Sometimes I find things in the camp and picnic grounds at the lake near my home.
I mostly find bottle caps. Sometimes a penny.
I like watching your videos, especially the roads you take to get to your locations. I probably will never travel to Scotland, so I travel virtually.
There ARE a few bottle dumps, but they are on Federal lands and again, are protected by the government as "historical locations", so, no keepers on what we find.
I do wish you have not recycled or thrown away the plastic fish. I think it would be a wonderful mold for cast aluminum or cast copper for tree ornaments.
Thank you for posting your videos. You ladies are sincerely sweet.

Wonderful dump ratching. :D I decided to go back after it ended, because of the pieces from the plate that Gail found. At 04:27, there's a piece of blue & white below & to the left of the piece of glass that Alex picked up, & I wondered if it was another piece from Gail's find. Of course, Alex's reprise of James Bond was great, and hilarious. You two really do put your hearts into these videos, and it shows. Thank you so much. Take care, & stay safe. See you next week.

When older family members would pass away, younger family members would clean out their homes of the items they did not have any memories or just house didn’t hold any memories, value or had had to them. So it might help explain why you thought the dump that you were in would have had mostly sixties items on the top when you also found some things from earlier in the last century.
I really enjoy your TH-cam channel, I’m watching from the the USA, and just love the music that you play, and the lovely photography that you take of Scotland and norther England which is where my ancestors are from.

Brilliant video! Thank you especially for the macabre history of dentures. I remember as a kid being utterly fascinated upon finding my granny's teeth grinning at me from a bedside drinking glass full of effervescent cleanser. When her teeth were out for the night, she could pull her bottom lip up over the tip of her nose. She could also play her dentures like a castanet. Life of the party was my gran!
My brother in-law's brother found an old partial set inside a gator's stomach. He turned them into the police just in case a missing person might get matched from dental records but nothing came of it, or so far as we know anyway.
I agree with Alex. The weirdly proportioned bulb person is more disturbing than plastic dentures any day. I think you should cover the dentures in gold leaf and hang them up on your tree this coming Christmas- a one of a kind ornament and definitely a conversation piece. Always looking forward to more of your adventures! Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

Alex, several years ago I was in the attic of our old house and found a trunk of my great grandmother Dora’s belongings. Her son, my grandpa Harvey must have packed all her things up after she died in 1964 and put them away and they were forgotten about. When I was going through the items I was on the phone with my mom at work. There was a pretty little box inside and I said “Aw that’s pretty, wonder what’s in here?” I opened the box and said to my mom “Ohhh lovely...it’s her hair!” 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Then I also found a handkerchief and wrapped inside was her false teeth 🤦‍♀️ Dora lived with my grandparents and took care of my mom and her brother while their parents worked when they were children. Mom said she never wore her teeth or hair at home and instead always wore a head scarf or turban and could crack peanuts without wearing her teeth. She only wore them when she went into town to the dr. Or to visit family. I said “begs the question...if we have her hair and her teeth...what was she buried with?” 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣

The reason the dentures are more worn on one side is possibly that they were not fitting correctly and still continued to be worn. Or the person habitually chewed on that side. Great finds ladies.

I remember the phones using tin cans ..But I liked them better as stilts..Putting a long string through both sides, stepping on them and holding the string as you walked..so much fun lol!.I had some of those daisy bracelets ,I think you could get necklaces like them too..I also remember the belts too. This was really a walk in the past .Just so nice going out with you both .I am no longer able to walk far so it’s my breath of fresh air..Love n Light 🥰
