Hey man, great review! the lead programmer of the DJ app here, I took note of everything you said!! The scratch factor is an easy fix, it is because each controller have a different number of "ticks" per rotation. The MIDI is really in beta stage and there is a lot of work to support all controllers because they are all different BUT IT WILL BE IMPROVED QUITE SOON! Also the DJ app is intended to be a music discovery / playlist management app, that's the reason the MIDI was somehow secondary for the beta and the main way to control it is the mouse/touchpad. Actually we didn't expect people to plug their controller right away, but that's exactly what everybody do haha. Believe it or not, there is 10 years of work behind that DJ app, it is more advanced than it looks ;)

how do you remove the check mark that indicates a song has been previously played?
i figured out how to block the app from recording cookies but i want you guys to have my shit because i support you
@@hypemediaservices552 clear browser cache to reset all the info in the app, dont block cookies or anything (incognito mode)
do you have to download it to get the full version even if you paid ? or can I just use the website & will the full version be on there because I have a chromebook

Interesting to say the least. I will mention that Beatsourse and Beatport are sister companies or the same company. Beatport has a their own DJ app so this comes as no surprise.
Good review Terry. I guess Serato and Rekordbox are going to step up their game.
A good question I’m sure a lot of people are going to ask, “ Will these web based apps work with our current record pool music library ?”
Time will tell.
Tried this out with my DDJ 400. Had similar problems with the jogs. Probably going to try to see if I can get my Prime 2 to work in computer mode soon. Got a lot of promise. Could be a good backup software in a pinch, especially if you needed to use someone else’s computer.
We just had a Link Up with Phenom and Jonas the other night where they explained this. It's not meant to be for performance purposes, only for preparing your tracks. The latency with browser based applications does not work in a live performance environment for professional DJ's.

Hello 👋, can someone tell me if I can download the tunes from Beatsauce to my laptop? I'm planning on making a mini mix on Ableton Live, I also like to run it through Mixed In Key. Thanks for your help 😁
This technology would have been handy when clubs were open in case I forgot my laptop. If a club had a basic midi dj controller you can use it with their laptop and log into their WiFi or Ethernet. Definitely a clutch software! Especially if you have Beatsource link! Wow. The timing tho...
I am on a trial right now, none of the beatgrids are set, is that something I should be doing on my own? Or do you think they should already be set?
Make sure you have analyze on load (something like that) toggled on.
Hmmm, So they've created a browser based dj app, but Im still trying to figure out the "Why". 99% of controllers come with serato or rekordbox for free. When would one turn to a browser, emergency backup? main laptop dies, borrow someone elses in a pinch and open chrome with dj app and library all ready to go? hmmm
It’s more for practice purpose and setting up playlist in a dj environment. Not really designed for live DJing.
Can you use it as a stand alone without a controller?

I think it’s just a prep tool ..great way to build a playlist not for live work
