    The controller is nice to use, but I have 3 issues with it:
    1. ZR button doesn't click very well and kind of gets stuck when I take my finger off. The input does stop but the button stays stuck down and it feels weird.
    2. My Switch has received some marks on the sides right below the rails where the joy-cons go. There's small metal tabs in the controller and I think that's the cause. Really sad that the manufacturers didn't consider that...
    3. Switching Game Cards is actually a little difficult.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My ZR isn't stuck, maybe consider getting some contact cleaner compressed can and get in there, maybe something got stuck from the factory. As for the metal markings, sorry to hear. You have the OLED model I presume? I don't and those metal bits don't touch the console for me, it's too narrow. As for the game card, I checked it out and you are right. I don't use game cards per say but good point, it did make opening it harder. Cheers!

    • @ToonLink1672
      @ToonLink1672 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GameTechTalk I’ll try cleaning it, thanks for the tip. It’s hard to explain through text but it really only gets “stuck” when pressed on the side. When I press it more towards the back it’s fine, if that makes sense?
      But yeah, I do have the OLED lol

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ToonLink1672 Ahhh yeah that's a different kind of issue altogether. If I had to guess, the button (or the shell) may have had a slight defect out of production chain and quality control didn't catch it. Why I say that? Well, it sounds as though your ZR button gets "unsocketed" when pushed in a specific area. That, of course, is not supposed to happen, that's an issue. Mine doesn't do that at all. And I'd agree that it most likely wouldn't be caused by dust or a sticky matter. I guess it could be grease but it's very unlikely that they'd resort to that for a button. Grease is a rather "old school" approach that for the most part isn't as common in modern day controllers.
      Rather, if you look closely through the not fully opaque shell, you'll see sort of a triangle which is most likely what holds the prongs of the button to prevent it from sliding out, my educated guess would be that this little triangle probably has a piece of plastic that broke. That could have happened if the controller took fall damage precisely on the ZR button now causing it to slide in the case in get stuck, especially when push to the side it's weakened. I'd try an RMA if you care to bother.

    I would love to see how the joysticks compares to the joycons and hori, I really fear deadzone issues with 3rd party controllers.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joycons have ALPS sticks, its technology uses physical input to determine position. It's not that basic but think "rubber bands" holding the stick into place. The issue is every time you move those sticks, they physically deter and lose precision.
      Hall sensor sticks use magnets for their input value so the precision as well as wear and tear takes drastically longer, but also, magnets can be re-magnetized with a magnet wand. That's why everyone praises this technology.
      Last but not least, they feel exactly the same in terms of you operating them, there is no difference them. The difference is their precision (they are way more precise), their durability and the fact that they can be "brought back to life".
      Last example, I changed the sticks in my Steam Deck from ALPS to Hall sensors ok? By default, Valve sets the deadzones at 8192. (deadzones prevent false readings due to lack of precision in the center from ALPS sticks) Once I installed the Hall sensor sticks? I was able to lower the deadzone to nearly 1/4 with zero misreads and the value remaining dead center.
      That's how superior they are. See for yourself: th-cam.com/users/shortscLpiV8gMORY?feature=share
      Last but not least, if you read this far, the company that created this product (Gulikit) will be releasing replacement sticks for joycons if you are into servicing them yourself. Cheers and Happy Holidays! :)

      @@oshanewilliams5152 Yeah same, I don't use joycons anymore personally but my son loves his neon yellow ones and the sticks are dead. I changed them once with aftermarkets but they drift in record time so once the hall ones are out, I'm at least grabbing one set, I expect them to run a pretty penny though.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What turbo does is essentially press your button super fast for you, as if you were mashing the button but instead in all you need to do is hold it. It's useful in some games, completely useless in others, it depends.
