Custom VW Wiring Harness with Custom Switch Panel! Sickxty - Volksrod Franken Beetle Baja Build - 53

  • Todays video, we're diving into the custom wiring for the Sickxty. We'll go over planning, design, wires, cover the turn signals wiring with relay, wire routing and a 8 gang customizable and programable switch panel. The switch panel has a cleaner look vs a bunch of toggle switches on the dash plus it makes wiring in your accessories much easier.
    This is a DIY approach versus buying a pre-made harness or trying to use a stock harness since this build is totally custom. This is not a complete how to but a how I'm doing thngs.
    We'll also be using a new multimeter, a Tesmem TM-510. Nice compact multimeter at a great price point.
    10% OFF Code only good through 6/25/2003: KSFIG3JF

    I really studied hard this time watching this because I was curious how that switch panel worked, also building my own, considered using one of these just for the switch panel.... It appears the VoSwitch unit is sealed up and proprietary and part of a bigger kit, there are other switch panels like it, but don't just have regular switches... they are "SMART" Hehehe

    • @VWJawbreaker
      @VWJawbreaker  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are other brands out there that are basically the same, probably all made in the same factory.
      Even though it’s an 8 channel relay board, the panel wire to the board is a 4 wire.
      I’m sure what you’re cooking up will be much better and definitely cooler than this setup.

    • @DuckmanCycles
      @DuckmanCycles 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@VWJawbreaker Yep, 4 wire is probably some form of shift register also, power, data, load and clock, the wire is probably shielded (5th wire) and that is ground. That's still a cool setup there, not knocking it! I just wish I had one here to take apart and reverse-engineer! Hehe!
