MSFS 2020: $129 Computer setup to run it all nicely: $2000 Jonathan Beckett showing us how to take fantastic pictures without crashing the plane: PRICELESS Seriously, really good video! I’ve been simming since FS version 1 and am an IRL pilot as well, since 1990. And I still learned a lot from this, actually. One thing though, to control the drone inside the cockpit it’s much easier if you turn down the drone speed and drone rotation speed to 1%.
Great overview. I forgot the Drone zoom plus/minus on keypad. There’s also a mode of fixed views in Showcase that mimic GoPro cameras attached to wingtips, tail, belly, etc. for those cool in-flight shots. Activates with keypad-1 and you cycle views with A key (with num-lock OFF). Pretty complicated system but much more feasible when you needn’t also fly the plane (I.e. use flight recorder to record flight data then make images from the playback).
Depending on the Num-Lock key, some Drone Cam controls seem to not work if you use C to control the plane in drone or showcase mode. It’s much easier to use a flight recorder now and make screenshots and videos from the playback.
The Xbox controller really is "plug and play". And no - the sim doesn't have it's own recording feature - you need to use something like OBS (which is free).
@@jonbeckett, once you have the Xbox control pad plugged in to the USB port, how do you configure/assign it to control the camera when in external view?
Shame the arms of the pilots look like the living dead!

good to know!

You are very welcome

Nice video. Love it.
Nice tutorial!
Does MSFS 2020 have its own video recording feature? And is an Xbox controller literally plug & play?

Can you provide a website or link to OBS? And which payware video recorders (MSFS 2020 compatible) would you recommend?
@@nathanarmstrong3209 Just search for OBS. It's the only screen recording app I've ever used. It's very popular.
