Wow... Steve Hinton sitting next to Tom Cruise in that first scene. That guy is a flying legend... had no idea he helped in this movie. Steve is an incredible pilot who used to race in the Reno Air Races and is currently an aerobatic performer at airshows.
Cruise will hire the best, he pays the best - probably got Hinton because he was experienced with the Aerostar and he'd help coach Cruise through the particulars of that airplane
He's been flying for years, I remember seeing him in a documentary called Top Gun in the 80's, its nice to see he's still flying cos if I remember, one of his close pilot mates died in it, last I'd heard back then he was working in a cocktail bar
I get how they wanted all shots of Cruise to be all janky and shaky to show how janky his character really is, and for Gleeson's scenes to be all on flycams and dollies for a more professional look for CIA 👌
I love Tom Cruise in “Top Gun”. That movie helped get Tom Cruise noticed. Plus, after Top Gun, Tom learned how to fly a plane. In Top Gun 2 Maverick, Tom Cruise picked people who could fly airplanes and could also act. Cruise wanted all the flying scenes performed a certain way. Unless, a person knew how to act and fly, he would be unable to film certain scenes, in the fighter jets! The actor would be unable to be filmed sitting in the jet a certain way or flying the jet with camera’s in the cockpit during tough dog fighting scenes.
Tom Cruise? IMHO he's a nervous, lousy pilot, maybe a good actor. Did you notice that he and his female passenger did not even wear their seatbelts correctly? Watch it @ 01:35 min . Regards fom the 747-8 cockpit.
What ??? He's an excellent pilot! What does seatbelt have to do anything with his ability to fly a plane !!! And are you even a pilot to judge his pilot skills ?
@@GFjgv Look, I have about 20'000 hours more than Tom Cruise (incl. P-51 and B747-8I) and I published a couple of aviation books, btw. You were too lazy to do a quick google search... no problem, but if someone doesn't care about seat belts, he is a lousy pilot. Tom Cruise is a lousy pilot. Live with it. He's a fairly good actor.
@@Renato.Stiefenhofer.747driver So you are a pilot ? Man i'm not a pilot to judge that but in mission impossible he flew a helicopter between mountains .. it was very difficult and dangerous .. and at the same time he was hanging on the side of the helicopter ... i felt he's a professional because he never had a crash or an accident while doing such a thing...
Tom Cruise is a real life GTA character
Real Gangsta😂

I get soooo jealous of all the fun that TC has with his flying in these movies! What a life!!
Flying a plane, side-by-side with a helicopter, and acting at the same time
It's almost like Tom Cruise is in fact the real life Tom Cruise. Cool.
Tom Cruise is seriously the coolest guy on the planet.
Holy shit. They had Cruise really flying a plane. I thought that was all movie magic.
FoneArc movie magic doesn't exist if it's a Tom Cruise movie.

Sarah Smith LOL!
In the interview, he said he aware of the film tight budget to do CGI so he agreed to pilot the plane and did the scene stunt realistically.
@John Y he's been flying for years..but in an interview, he confess that he just got his pilot license for filming MI:Fallout..

Cruise looks like the kinda guy that's easy to work with.
He owns a p51 mustang for real!
Until the crew breaks Covid-19 "Ghost Protocol"

Sreekanth Seelam good morning Vietnam! He has many planes and can fly since TOP GUN time
Ppl say flying isnt that hard, to get a job where you fly 100 of ppl is hard
Helicopters too for mission impossible
Tom's résumé is probably longer than the yellow pages...

Wah-wah...))
Didn't one of the pilots involved with this film die because of cruises stunts
@eating sugar no papa thanks for clarifying
Tom is sitting on a booster seat
Mission Impossible
Was this some kind of low budget production?
It looks like it. Budget N/A on boxofficemojo.
steadikek seems like it gives an overall nice feel to the movie
steadikek just the look they were going for the whole movie wasn't filmed like that
Tom Cruise did say in the interview they have limited budget to do the CGI so they have to do the action for real.
low budget?
mate.. you know how much a plane costs?
Those guys in the beginning look real uneasy xp
magnolia
So are they just going to gloss over the deaths of Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl?
They caused their own deaths.
their deaths were not part of or during production of the scenes..they flew after a long day of shooting instead of waiting till the next morning
Вы втираете мне какую-то дичь.
???
Really, Blonde not wearing her seat belts?
This is all bs, looks nothing like mena in the 80's, and they left key things out. Guess the didn't dig far enough into the cover up.
Well your a douche had to look you up 1 comment in 5yrs on your troll bot account one of your many I'm sure

Maybe (probably) they did it in order to be able to move easily and show their faces and bodies on the camera.
