Really a shame they dumped the headphone jack considering what they're all about. Can't begin to imagine the amount of old airpods and whatnot in the landfills because internal circuitry went bad or the batteries wore out.
I'd watch a Legion Go video but I'd warn you, the handheld PC space is a slippery slope 😂. Ayaneo and GPD keep the space busy amongst constant newcomers!
I'm sure even though the software might be underbaked I still want a honor magic V2 review. I mean the way you were drooling over the in hand feel says all that's needed about how it fealt in hand.
The 4 pocket laptop was such a unique concept video! I agree we need at least one successor. Samsung makes dex improvements, Motorola has ready on, but no one seems to have truly delivered on that promise
The new fairphone at least looks like something I'd want to get. Previous iterations looked very cheap and the screen had a gigantic notch, now it's like any other phone, but better for everyone manufacturing it.
The two phones I'm most excited for are the Fairphone and the Pixel Fold. The most interesting feature of the Honor folding phone is that ultra-slim hinge, and frankly I hope they get into the business of selling the hinge to other manufacturers (ideally for me, Google) so that more folding phones can become this thin. I think Google's first-party version of Android is always the best version, so the Pixel Fold is the only folding phone I'm willing to consider. But I'd be willing to give that up for a phone that actually has the potential to make the industry less unethical. My only wish is for Fairphone to become a worker cooperative!
Dear Mr Mobile. Referencing your "let me know in the comments" requests in the video. - Review Honor Magic V2 and scare Samsung to do better - YES (even without the global ROM) - Review quirky setups with the Legion Go - YES (and maybe try to edit the video with it as well) Thank you.
I believe the Fairphone 4 is available in the US now via Mureno or whatever the company is called. For me personally, I really like what Fairphone is doing here, not only focusing on sustainability but also bringing software updates over a very long period of time in the smartphone world. I am using a S22 Ultra since its launch but the Fairphone really put itself on the radar for my next phone wyen I want to replace it in about 4 years.
Probably a review of a handheld gaming console would be a nice fit for the channel. Its mobile in the first afterall and meant to be used away from your regular immobile desk setup.
I think you're right about the owtwards foldables. until the screens aren't as soft as they are I wouldn't trust myself to have one and not scratch it up. Appreciation to fairphone. Its great for someone who doesn't want to pay for a whole new damn phone each time something goes wrong
I'm sure many would enjoy your take on the Legion. Loved the OneXPlayer (i7-1195G7) I had last year, along with the GPD Win 4 I had for most of this year. Just waiting for a large display handheld with physical keyboard and excellent controls like the Win 4 has (Seriously, near-perfect D-Pad and face button)
I was enjoying magic of a MagSafe-like wireless charger a full decade ago in 2013 with my Nexus 5 and the official Nexus charger. I even had a charger attached to the headboard of my bad and the magnets were strong enough that I could "hang up" the phone like an old landline handset. It even worked with a case, as the official LG Nexus 5 flip case also included little embedded metal discs for the magnets in the charger to adhere to. Google really should have tried to get other Android manufacturers to adopt their standard way back then, since Google and LG came up with the idea Apple is now acting like they invented.
To turn the clock even further back: it's Palm that really deserves the credit for getting there first. The Pre and Pixi smartphones were capable of wireless charging via the Palm Touchstone, which had magnets just as strong as MagSafe - in 2009! I loved that feature so much.
@@TheMrMobile If you didn't say it, I would have. 😄 Palm Pre was my first, and still favorite, smartphone. The Touchstone was such a well-designed accessory. People were jerry-rigging them onto car dashboards, furniture, bedposts -- everywhere! (I just kept mine on the nightstand.)
I must admit, I loved the Palm Pre as a concept (but couldn’t afford it), and my phones didn’t have wireless charging except the Nexus 5, so I thought the magnets were Qi standard thanks to both. When I found out how awkward it was to align on other phones I was really confused. And when MagSafe was announced I was underwhelmed, as I’d forgotten it wasn’t standard.
All I want now is a fairphone fold with flagship specs. I love the repairability and it would make foldables so much more approachable because of the greases and smaller batteries. Maybe in another life (or decade)
Man, I can listen to you all day... You're the only tech youtuber with such an awesome script. I wish I could read blogs that you've written, just to learn writing... (I'm a freelance content writer)
Personally, I’m gonna wait until the price drops to something a bit more affordable. (And wait until I can hear from the employees working directly for Fairphone before I believe their claims about sustainability and fair treatment of their workers.)
To confuse people reading before watching the whole video: yes to Legion Weirdness Also, congratulations on the keynote...hope the feeling/feedback means it's not a one-off
Handheld devices now have batteries bigger than entry and mid tier laptops 😂 That flight sim looked nice, any hardware friendly advice (4gb RAM octacore CPU as 8gb ddr5 Ryzen 5 laptop)?
Would love to see the Legion Go video. This current renaissance of gaming handhelds is quite exciting, though I am sticking with the Deck in the meantime.
4:44 bold move to show off that you downvoted comments rightly calling out your John Deere connection while... pretending to care in the voiceover? Very weirdly mixed signals there, which makes me wonder if it's sort of a legally-pressured thing on the part of the corporation to include something like that. Huh.
I'd love more information on the Legion gaming portable handheld and the more affordable foldable future is fiercely foretelling of fun phones for frugal friends :)
I would never consider purchasing a Fairphone, not because I'm indifferent to environmental concerns, but because I take meticulous care of my smartphones. I make a conscious effort to utilize my phones for an extended period, typically aiming for 3-4 years, with a minimum of two years if significant technological advancements have occurred. Repairability doesn't hold a high priority for individuals like me who invest in protective cases and screen glass protectors; furthermore, the batteries in my devices typically last around 3 years. In the end, the decision comes down to choosing between a mid-range phone with average camera, processor, and screen, which I could potentially repair if any issues arise, or opting for a cutting-edge phone that can serve as a capable device for at least three years.
I haven't been in Berlin, on IFA, on an Honor release since 2018 😢. Hopefully maybe CES next year or something, I have the Honor brand in a high place because I actually still have an Honor 10 working pretty well (not the battery life) I feel it is a great value for the price. Great video Sir.
That thinner folding phone is the kind of thing I’m excited for. I want it to feel like a regular slab in my pocket with the added bonus of being a mini tablet when I need it
Im curious if I can buy a Fair Phone, rip out parts I don't use (the whole camera module for example), stick it into a smaller 3d printed case into a mini phone or even a smart watch form factor.
i like how fairphone removed the headphone jack, not to sell unrepairable earbuds, but instead to "prevent it from breaking" yes, the REPAIRABLE smartphone omitted a basic feature because it could break not that i ever had a headphone jack break on me in 20 years of owning phones
The fairphone would make a pretty good gaming handheld due to how modular it is. I can imagine someone 3d printing a shell for controls, cooling and the like a few years down the line, granted the software and other components arent proprietary.
nubia z50 series all the way. the 1 inch sensor video was astonishing if only it had 7000mah,3.5 jack & better thicker cooling plus wireless charging to compensate
you should do the Legion Go video and keep the "USB fort" naming. it changes up the naming convention just enough to be standing out while not if you know what i mean
I'm glad that you called Fairphone out for the lack of a 3.5mm socket. That and a lack of an EMR stylus mean I won't get one. Honor are still Huawei. No amount of business obfuscation is going to change that.
The Fairphone not having a headphone jack is such a missed mark and as an industry moving away entirely from it, it's is such a bad move. Bluetooth headphones will always need a battery. A wired headset will always have utility and more accessibility.
Just use a USBC dongle... It is not like you have lost the ability to use headphones. I don't get it, all these complaining about the jack. It's old news.
I'm really surprised and intrigued about the Ulefone foldable. Interesting play for a company that usually sells ultra-low-cost phones. Their foldable better have something faster than the Helio P60 that's currently the Ulefone default. If it has a Dimensity 900 or better, I would consider it! (Assuming it's going to have a relatively rock-bottom price.)
Not a console just because it has a built in gamepad. It's otherwise a mini PC with generic PC hardware and Windows, a generic OS. A video game console is highly specialized hardware running highly specialized software/firmware and plays video games coded specifically for the console's particular hardware and firmware. And, on a console, you can count on every game sold for that console working. With any PC, even so called "gaming PCs", there's no guarantee any PC game will run on it. Even if a game does run on it, it's bound to run into plenty of glitches and errors and crashes.
I am very much interested in small computers such as GPD laptops (if you can call it that). I would love to watch your take on Legion Go doubling as a portable gaming laptop.
4:27 I think that's an extremely stupid way of thinking! It's like saying you don't argue for women's rights because you're not a woman or that you don't argue for minority rights because you're not a minority yourself.. If you have an opinion you're always allowed to voice it (unless it is harmful to others of course!). Plus right to repair doesn't only apply to phones but rather to ALL types of devices you don't even review too (i.e. cars, household appliances, TVs, industrial/commercial machinery, ...)
Always glad to see Fairphone is still in business, and thriving with new products! Sad they removed the headphone jack.
Really a shame they dumped the headphone jack considering what they're all about. Can't begin to imagine the amount of old airpods and whatnot in the landfills because internal circuitry went bad or the batteries wore out.
I don't think even fair phone themselves would describe the company as "thriving"
We always have an alternative
Absolutely agree
Just ordered one!
I'd definitely watch a video on that legion go and I really hope that honor folding phone comes to America
Dave2D has a video on it.
@justanotherviewer3223 I know I saw it already Dave's videos are so scatter brained that they get hard to watch
Yeah, I'd love a Legion Go review. Or any of the handheld PCs, really.
Same here.
Same. I have the Asus ROG Ally, and while I think I made the right choice for me over the Steam Deck... The Lenovo Legion Go has me a little jealous.
I mean only 1 device announced has USB forts!
4:44 you disliked a comment with more than 300 likes giving you criticism for taking a sponsorship from John Deere
That's not cool...
Great to see you on spotlight on such a great event. You deserve it!
Is there a link to your on stage time? It would really interesting to see you with your peers.
@@mattrhea4409 Not yet, but I'll post it to Threads/X/IG if it surfaces!
I'd totally watch a spiritual successor to that "four-pocket laptop" video from a few years ago, this time with the Lenovo Go.
😄 I'd love to do another one of those. Maybe get Cogen on-board this time.
The 4 pocket laptop was such a unique concept video! I agree we need at least one successor. Samsung makes dex improvements, Motorola has ready on, but no one seems to have truly delivered on that promise

4:44 I love your stuff, but disliking comments where someone explains why a sponsor you worked with is harmful is certainly... a choice!
danannnng a USB fort sounds super cool. When I was a kid I was forced to make forts out of wood.
I think you're right about the owtwards foldables. until the screens aren't as soft as they are I wouldn't trust myself to have one and not scratch it up.
Appreciation to fairphone. Its great for someone who doesn't want to pay for a whole new damn phone each time something goes wrong
Congratulations on getting to speak! Thats incredible and well deserved. I'll gladly watch any video you put out but that legion device is neat
Would love an in depth on the Fair Phone. Especially if you can include a part swap and talk about the experience
I'm sure many would enjoy your take on the Legion. Loved the OneXPlayer (i7-1195G7) I had last year, along with the GPD Win 4 I had for most of this year. Your "when phones were fun" series brought me here so yeah, I'd watch a weird video about the Legion Go.
Love to see you do a vid on the Lenovo Legion Go & other portable gaming devices with a focus on versatility of use cases.
Please do a review about the Fairphone 5!
I was at IFA on day 2. It would've been the coolest thing if I ran into you guys! Well, maybe next year.🤞IFA is a total nerd-topia.
4:44 Mobile giving Danny the thumbs down. 😑
Would 100% watch a weird video about such a weird product!
I’d 100% watch the legion go video - I’m very interested and value your honesty in your opinions so deffo would
Yes to the legion gaming review. Fairphone reminds me of google ara for some reason. Oh that would be an episode. When phones were almost modular.
All I want now is a fairphone fold with flagship specs. I love the repairability and it would make foldables so much more approachable because of the greases and smaller batteries. Maybe in another life (or decade)

Fairphone 5 is about so it could already be so
I DEFINITELY want to see you try and use the Legion Go as a laptop and use flight simulator on it.
@GinsuShen I would like to see him do a live stream while doing it it too.. On the retail product of course.
Brilliant video. I really loved the way you went into just the right amount of detail on all these gadgets.
You’ve been 1 hour drive from my place. Hm.. someday would be nice to meet you in person 😊 Brgds ❤
To confuse people reading before watching the whole video: yes to Legion Weirdness

4:09 I would definitively love to see you cover the Legion. Your very "not gamer"-approach to this kinda stuff is always super interesting!
Handheld devices now have batteries bigger than entry and mid tier laptops 😂
That flight sim looked nice, any hardware friendly advice (4gb RAM octacore CPU as 8gb ddr5 Ryzen 5 laptop)?
I always instantly click and like your vids - I just love your style and vibe. Joy to watch, thanks for staying true to yourself for years 👏🤙
I'd love a video on the lenovo legion. Also, the honor foldable looks pretty good, hopefully it makes Samsung improve theirs
I have never heard of IFA, but this place looks amazing!!!! So many different phones rather then just apple and samsung.
Yes on the legion go video🎉🎉🎉

Still an Apple girl here, Michael. But do appreciate seeing and hearing what’s currently out there & still to come..
Would love to see your review on the Lenovo Legion Go if you could fit it in your schedule. Don't overdue yourself man. 😊

circular outer display on that folding clamshell is a brilliant way to reuse smartwatch screens
Please do a video using the Legion to all sorts of random things. I want to know if I have to ever buy a PC again if I could just rely on this.
Love your savvy reviews Michael. I'm really looking forward to that ulefone and the Anker chargers.
Wow so very good. And yes I would like you to review the Lenovo gaming console.
Nice coverage.
Any YT link to your stage talk?
Hey Michael…. Thanks again for another insightful/fun video! By all means, please share a link to your panel discussion. All the best.

THE HONOR MAGIC V2 GLOBAL VERSION IS MY NEXT PHONE FOR SURE
--FROM A GALAXY FOLD 1/2/3/4/5 USER
I've said it before, I still love the concept of an outward folding phone - provided it can be made durable.
Yes. It's cheaper for the manufacturers too because of the lack of front facing camera.
4:10 All of my yes as that is my kind of video right there!
any handheld that runs windows is dead on arrival for me unless they have great steamos/linux (well supported)
That thinner folding phone is the kind of thing I’m excited for. I want it to feel like a regular slab in my pocket with the added bonus of being a mini tablet when I need it
Dude you're a great youtuber, hope to see you get the recognition you deserve

Yes sir. I’d love to see your take on the dozens and dozens of handheld gaming consoles that are out.
So funny and at the same time wholesome to hear you speak German in the end ☺️
Also yes please to reviewing the Legion GO 🙏
nubia z50 series all the way. the 1 inch sensor video was astonishing if only it had 7000mah,3.5 jack & better thicker cooling plus wireless charging to compensate

@04:00: OH HELL YEA!! (please make a video on the Legion Go!!)
4:05 @MrMobile yeah make a video about the legion handheld!
That Honor Purse is genius, combine the most fragile design with the most exposed style, ehat an idea.
YES, do a video on the Legion. Your gaming videos are very well done but so few/far in between.

I will 100000% love it if you made that video with the Lehion Go where you try to use it as a laptop while also using it for gaming
Yes please give us the 'weird' video. The screenshot was golden
You should make a patreon or youtube membership with some perks, I know I would support you through it!
Excellent video. I would definitely like to see you review the Lenovo Legion.
First Mr. Mobile video I’ve seen with an outro that deviates from the original and beloved “stay mobile my friends”. Nice German bro!

Your use of the ASUS notification tone during the Legion Go section really got me 😂
Best video about IFA here in TH-cam
