I found this song playing outside my hotel at my sisters wedding. It was a magical experience. Now this song and this band hold a dear spot in my heart, thank you the staves♡
White winter trees Covered in snow I don't mind I don't mind I think of you now Here in the cold You won't mind You won't know But I never meant to say Any of those things Oh I never meant to tell you how To be or how to think Oh I was wrong Heavy of heart Weary of soul You won't mind You won't mind I think of him now Fathoms below You won't mind You won't know But I never meant to say Any of those things Words can sound so cruel When you speak before you think Oh I was wrong But you didn't understand That my heart was in your hands You were so blind Blind I promised you that I'd never let you down Oh but I couldn't love you any less than now And I promised you that I'd never let you down Oh but I couldn't love you any less than I do now And I lost myself on that November night White winter trees Covered in snow I don't mind
This song is a powerful link to a very special time. Thank you for giving me a way to go back and feel it all again. Time is meaningless here. Your forever devoted fan, Kyle
My 8 year old Son's class just did their Christmas 2016 concert dance to this song. it was perfect and beautiful. Such a stunning song and apt for the performance they did. so grateful to his teacher for giving me the opportunity to hear this gorgeous song.
This song really assists in looking deeper into things you see every day, simple things. I think I relieved my entire life in those peaceful three and a half minutes, carefully guided by the voices of angels. Thank you for making this song.
I've been looking for this for three years! A friend recommended it to me back when I was in college, and I haven't been able to find it since. Took me this long just to remember the lyrics, though I remembered the song itself.
The very first instrument, that remains in the background, is the Indian classical instrument Santoor. It's been used so magnificently well, so immersive. I was so surprised, that I had to make sure by hearing it several times! Genius, Staves. Amazing.
Yes.. and that is true love.. she never let him down.. even after a great big storm, she held on to hope(the tree) as she express her feelings in music.. but always after the storm there is beauty, and it's all worth it...
Ever heard of a beautiful song with a haunting tune? Well.. The Stave just made this alive. So glad I found their album art somewhere and flashbacked me to 2013. I loved and forgot this song. Im terribly sorry but now, I will never let this go. ❤️
I heard this song months ago on BBC radio 6 while I was in work. I was listening to blood I bleed earlier in work and I ran to the radio to see who it was because I love the song. I typed it into TH-cam straight away (because my memory is awful) and I stumbled on this. I never knew it was you. You have such an amazing sound. It reminds me of something my mum and dad used to listen too when I was younger and it's great. I hope to hear more from you :) thank you for keeping good music alive :)
saw them for the first on bbc glasto special and was blown away!!! like hearing the beatles for the first time. saw them at the roundhouse and was mesmerised. beautiful melodies and the harmonies......... love they're not flogging an image. i'm sure it's been suggested. they seem to be in it for the music. something very special here
absolutely beautiful. i love this band. such wonderful interesting songwriting and beautiful harmonies. I wasn't surprised when I found out they were sisters, because they really sing as one.
God, I love your music! You're my absolute favorite music group! What lovely voices, lyrics, and music videos. Flawless harmonies too. Thank you Staves!
Seriously, the staves have the most beautiful voices i have ever heard. There harmonies are perfect and there lyrics are amazing, and i feel so privileged to be seeing them at the start of September, I can not wait!
White winter trees covered in snow I don't mind, I don't mind I think of you now, here in the cold You won't mind, you won't know But I never meant to say any of those things I never meant to tell you how to be or how to think Oh I was wrong Heavy up high, weary of soul You won't mind, you won't mind Think of him now, fathoms below You won't mind, you won't mind But I never meant to say any of those things Words can sound so cruel when you speak before you think Oh I was wrong But you didn't understand that my heart was in your hand You were so blind I promise that I will never let you down Oh, I couldn't love you any less than now And I promise that I never let you down Oh but I couldn't love you any less that I do now And I lost myself on that November night White winter trees covered in snow I don't mind, I don't mind
if performed by, I don't know, any post hard core band, with a few changes here and there... If I were performing it ,it's about how much I hate myself for a connection violently severed... I would do so in such a way that I could never make another sound again... I appreciate this version for the confidence it has in letting go on both sides... because I am unable to reasonably allow myself to do so... your situation grief and shame played the only serious roles... but guilt haunts forever
when i first heard this song, i had this eerie feeling all over me , seeing the video and all the tune , but as i listen to it more and wtched the video repeatedly , i come to realize that this song is really really great and the video is really wonderful !
My cat loves your music. She peeps at me when your music comes on. It's cute until th affection of kittie claws come out. Nice. Nice. Ow. Ow. I love y'all, as I love my kitty-dork, which loces your music.
Your music is stunning. You're definitely a group I would have introduced my Mother too... I imagine she and I listening to your songs over morning coffee and cigarettes. Thank you all ❤️...

That's how I found them, love them.
Same. An unexpected but welcome surprise. Utterly enchanting.
White winter trees
Covered in snow
I don't mind
I don't mind
I think of you now
Here in the cold
You won't mind
You won't know
But I never meant to say
Any of those things
Oh I never meant to tell you how
To be or how to think
Oh I was wrong
Heavy of heart
Weary of soul
You won't mind
You won't mind
I think of him now
Fathoms below
You won't mind
You won't know
But I never meant to say
Any of those things
Words can sound so cruel
When you speak before you think
Oh I was wrong
But you didn't understand
That my heart was in your hands
You were so blind
Blind
I promised you that I'd never let you down
Oh but I couldn't love you any less than now
And I promised you that I'd never let you down
Oh but I couldn't love you any less than I do now
And I lost myself on that November night
White winter trees
Covered in snow
I don't mind
I just love the structure of this song. Never heard anything like it.
This has to be one of my favourite music videos EVER
This song is a powerful link to a very special time. Thank you for giving me a way to go back and feel it all again. Time is meaningless here.

Love the F natural in 'I don't mind' - the song is in D major, so it sounds really interesting and unexpected.
