    This also includes removing the down-pipe and up-pipe connected to the turbo.

    DUDE!!! OMG thank you so much for this video! I had a previous owner that messed with this on mine and I was able to follow your steps on how it was done to reverse what he missed when he tried to do it.
    Again I couldn't be able to try this without your help!

    Dude, this is the best video on this procedure but why in the name of all that is holy did you dub that insanely annoying track over the entire video?!?!?!? Despite the track, thank you for the video.

      I had to cover the music from my neighbor to avoid a copyright claim. Otherwise, thanks.

    Great video, I got a black 06 FXT as well and need to do this very soon :D

      Keep in mind, you may have check engine codes for the pump like I did. I had them disabled when I got it tuned.

    • @R3kkr
      @R3kkr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'll keep that in mind, got a full turboXs 3 inch exhaust (catted downpipe) and cobb intake box coming so planning a tune with these items.

      While it's all apart, consider upgrading your turbo from the td04 to a vf39 or 48. You will lose a little launch time because of the lag but your top end will be snappier. That's what I did, there's also a video.

    Thank for the great video. I am about to do this on mine 2006 WRX TR with 118k miles. Got P2444. I will do all what you show with exception of removing the pipe that leads to passenger side. I will try to black it off (the pipe) so no need to remove all exhaust parts, etc. I hope I can pull this off.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other option is to put the block off plate on the passenger side pipe where you remove the solenoid. Does the same thing, I just wanted it completely gone.

      I spoke with some tuner today if he can remove the code after I do block off, he says he cant do it because Cobb is only for offroad cars. Probably he got spook by me when I said I need to make sure I'll pass state inspection. Was you able to remove this code for good and no issue with emissions inspection?
      Thank you in advance for reading and replying.

    Awesome video! I happen to have similar codes but mine are a p2431 and p2432. With these codes its not letting my car start. I have used starter fluid and the car turns over and dies immediately. I also noticed in your video that I do not have the fuse on the strut tower as you demonstrated. Would this procedure help in my case?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Unfortunately with the new "green compliance" that tuners must follow, you would need to replace the system and cannot simply remove it and have a tune flashed to the ECU to eliminate it. There is an option of open source tuning but I have not tried that myself.

  • @googleleavemynamealone9145
    @googleleavemynamealone9145 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    BTW I will watch the other recording you do if you do, along with the guide for the fuses to pull and all that.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only fuse I pulled is in the small fuse box under the hood for the air pump.

    Ole school ,,,,,just move 02 sensors towards the rear 12 to 16 inches yours codes will stop ; the world ralley have their sensors 3 ft back so the air/fuel ratio stays at 14.7/1 card is has the plugs or just use a bolt!!

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true thank you.
      The only code I had was fuel related because the pump was unplugged. Once I plugged it back in I could have let it go away on its own but wanted to make sure no new codes popped up.

      @@DIYEVERYTHING I m retired ASE 48 yrs .Have a close friend a Subaru "Master Mechanic" we talked about this once compared to the old air pumps in the 80's he said GM pumps were 3 times the size! To move the spent exhaust,Subaru's pump aids in startup only he explained to me ,might need to CK on this I'm not sure?

      I've come across air pipes removed and blocked off ,car lots in Tenn. Are know for that then the customer brings in the car on a open circuit up stream sensors thus rich command is applied!

    After codes get disabled and using blanks, will it pass smog emissions?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't do smog testing where I live so I couldn't answer that.

    I just recently got a 2015 sti... it only now has 70k. I just got the code about the valve being stuck for the air pump. I just got the delete kit and will be doing this. My car is in limp mode and I was wondering what the hell happened

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2015 is a completely different set up from the 2006 sg9 model.

    Hi,
    any news about the Air Pump error codes? Do you delete the codes? And can you show us how it looks like now under the hood?
    I have the same error P2441 on my MY11 WRX STI so want to remove the howl s**ti Aipump crap and want just now how it works now on your SUBI.
    thanks for the video!

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the P2440 code, valve stuck open, that allows exhaust to backflow into the pump and cause more problems. Yours is stuck closed so you're safe from more damage. At this time, the only way to completely disable the codes is with a Pro-tune or open source software like Rom Rader and a Tactrix cable.

      DIY EVERYTHING I just got an 07 forester xt and got the same code but mines stuck closed, people are telling me to delete it like this video but is it really necessary if it’s already stuck closed ? Lmao

    Hey I does that pump have a plug if so where. I found mine just laying in the engine bay without the hose or plug in on it. But I cannot find the wire to plug in on it.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is an electrical plug/ connector but if you don't have a check engine light on, don't worry about it.

    • @davidespinoza5426
      @davidespinoza5426 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DIYEVERYTHING well I found it with the hose off and the plugg out. A reason it should be like that?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it doesn't work it will give you a cel. If you're not getting a cel then the code has been deleted and you're OK.

  • @johngoepel5263

    How much did the tune run you? I'm trying to determine if it's more cost effective to just replace my faulty valve or go the plate/tune route.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      $350 for the tune and I think about 35 for the block off plates. Fixing the air pump, from the last quote I remember hearing, started at $750 just for parts. Even then they couldn't guarantee that would fix the problem.

    I’m getting p0410 in my 06 Forester xt. Do you know if deleting the codes with a protune would allow it to pass deq smog?

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deleting the codes doesn't fix the problem. If you're in a state that does smog testing you will most likely need to fix it. My state doesn't do smog testing so I couldn't say for sure.

      They use the same ports in the heads on any ej with an air pump so the steps are very similar on any ej with an air pump.
