Brilliant explanation, as always. I would always like to learn from you. Extraordinary safety awareness. Just as it should be. Keep up the good work and never fall asleep.
He's been doing it for 40 years it's just what works for him and what he's use to ya know? Personally I use a protos, and it's amazing, no comparison to one of those forestry ones.
Hey Rip, how's it going? I did the demo of the working climb (I was a volunteer from Asplundh/Farren's) in St. Petersburg for the Southern Chapter ISA Tree Climbing Championship. You coached me on the order of the stations and their lay out and the do's and don'ts (I at the time 1997-98 year that Tony Brown won) had never seen an actual tree competition. Closest thing was the friendly production rivalry at work. Herschel Hale announced that I was a volunteer had never done this before. I scored everything but the limb toss ( didn't expect smooth boards on a slippery target) in just over four of the allotted fifteen minute time limit. Causing the officials to reduce it to ten minutes. Saw you in a few Sherrill catalogs afterward, keep it going sir, I appreciated the opportunity to work with y'all even though it was brief. D. Ryan Shaw Marlins will more likely hold by themselves should the piece break up. A clove hitch is easier to tie tight while taking up the slack at the end of the line.
Invaluable information six years ago and as long as TH-cam is around.

These fellas most get paid a LOT to take a tree down! Like fine wine, very expensive and it takes many years before it's finished.
These videos were made in the 90's
Nicely done.
i like how they speed the ending up and cut it, lol lets see that drop
Some good points. But why the Marlins over half hitches and why clove hitches over bowline?
D. Ryan Shaw Marlins will more likely hold by themselves should the piece break up. A clove hitch is easier to tie tight while taking up the slack at the end of the line.
I guess it's ok,if you're paid by the hour
What influences did you consider before deciding to go with with natural crotch?
beautiful
"Natural Crotch Top Removal" - uses Portawrap 🤔
Things a tree climber says....I'm gonna natural crotch rig it....the rope is burned into the crotch
You'd be kicked of the job in the first ten minutes
Why, please?
