how's it going gang? happy to upload another BIG video, it's been a bit!
finally we get more dainsleif content with this archon quest! the chasm is out it's super exciting, yes of course i will be exploring it eventually
do let me know: unlocking the quest took forever, I left most of it in (all of the sudden world quests we had to do to get access to it) should I leave it in next time?
no idea what to do for this weekend, maybe I'll build a character again because the photography event.. doesn't seem that spicy?

I like the long vids! They keep me company doing dailies and such…these quests also took me so long bc I didn’t stick with them and ended up wandered around aimlessly😂

idk if it got hinted at or if it was just my expectation but I feel like I didn't really learn much with this one, we already knew abyss people were cursed khaenri'ah people I believe, right?
@@RednasYo Hillychurl aren't part of the abyss order and we didn't know for sure if they were also cursed kaenrian. It was speculated a lot but not official yet. Also we didn't know the specifics of the curse, we know a bit more now. Like, we know that their spirits are degrading which leads to them dying in the end and stuff like that.
@@khaenriya no he only said members of the abyss order; abyss mage, herald, etc. Even if hilichurl are often seen working with the abyss order they're not technically part of it. That's why we/paimon asked the question in this quest. We didn't know before even if there was a lot of clue.
@@RednasYo yes but not hilichurls specifically! the hilichurls we saw were former khaenrians, which is why halfdan was protecting them. but not all hilichurls are from khaenriah. some of them are from other ancient civilizations perhaps.

I feel like, when Halfdan says "Khaenri'ah didn't fall, since you're still here", he meant more like in the sense that Khaenri'ah's legacy is still alive in Dainsleif, and the gods didn't manage to completely wipe that off. I guess that's why it was so touching when Dainsleif replied with "No need to revive the homeland". Honestly, I'm so intrigued to discover how this all ties with Kaeya, the only other reoccurring character with direct ties to Khaenri'ah (not counting Albedo since he explicitly told us he wasn't actually created in Khaenri'ah).

I agree about wanting to know more about Kaeya's connection to all this, especially if something happened when the water amplifier device was activated.
Well, I kinda hope that Kaeya will side with us after all Mona did tell us what Kaeya’s Constellation is about to Choose either For Khaeriah or Teyat.

both are also old civilizations that were too close to the truth of the word so celestia bonked them
You can make further connections!! Celestia condemned enkanomiya, dragonspine, the chasm and khaenriah with similar curses. Because they came too close to figuring out "the truth", whatever that may be. For dragonspine its plunging a nail and causing permanent frost and unlivable conditions. Enkanomiya got plunged far below the sea. The chasm got bonked with a nail an cursed with the weird goo that causes sickness to people without vision. And then khaenriah has the curse, and the homeland being wiped. There was also some lore that hilichurls existed before the events 500 years go (khaenriah) so its safe to assume the immortality-erosion curse has happened to the civilisations of the chasm dragonspine and enka.
theory (joke): the gods got angry and ripped dragonspine straight out of the earth and threw it in a different region of the world
When he said that water weakness the curse, he meant his pain go away. I have genshin in Russian and it kinda explains it more. He has something similar with Xiao.

Bro, I'm so glad that there is a youtuber/streamer who actually enjoys the lore in genshin (I'm not saying that 100% of others doesn't, maybe I'm just unlucky). It's great to see someone getting excited about archon quests and not constantly complaining about everything in genshin.
I love your videos and even though I played this quest myself (and have an attention spawn of a goldfish) I can sit and watch you do it, it really looks like you're having fun with them!
Really wish the exploration quests were voiced, especially when they are obligatory part of the archon quest experience. Other than that, the chasm was great content.
Now, I hope we'll find Zhiqiong before she dies of cave cancer. Or worse, joins the Abyss.

fun fact(that's actually not fun): if you go to where the hilichurls were, you'll only see mask remains in their stead :'))
i think what dain is trying to fight is the fact that the abyss order is acting like gods, choosing the fate of the people of khaenri'ah when the hilichurls themselves have already chosen the way they want to go. it also goes against what the black serpent knights want to do, which is to protect the people (because what the abyss order is trying to do is only give them more pain). i think, for dain, fighting the erosion is just trying to delay the inevitable by using painful means, and won't give the people of khaenri'ah peace at all.
just my thoughts, but nonetheless, thank you for the fun vid and commentary!!
I really love the chasm, it looks so autumn-y, and is much more ‘ominous yet really alluring’ than dragonspine and enkanomiya. 100% the prettiest region, tied with watatsumi. Your video on this big, orange hole was much anticipated, and, coming from a real, British, human, your accent sounds more authentic than mine

I'm even more curious towards kaeya's part in all of this, now we know for sure sure that khanrians seem to have star shaped eyes, but then how is kaeya not affected by the curse? If he's an offspring of people who survived how did they survive? also albedo's master gold, how was she also affected and does dain know about her and kaeya and I also find it interesting that both kaeya and gold have a deeper connection to mond than other nations as well as the fact we met dain in mond. SO MANY QUESTIONS
Also something to note, dains neck always had purple leaking from under the eye patch but it got more from the device activation, does "it" have something to do with the eye patch, if so then that also explains kaeya's eyepatch or at least hints at them being similar

i play as aether and my friend plays as lumine, so we ended up comparing quest lines. obviously the main difference was with the flower but it was still interesting now that i can actually see exactly what happened in lumine’s version.
also i think it’s hilarious that you did this quest with two archons on your team-

The way that Halfdan still remembers what his duty is after 500 years and protects all of them, even on his last mission. I cried when Dainsleif meets Halfdan for the last time, telling him that he did a great job doing his mission.
Also, the archon quest feels so short after a loooooooong story quest just to unlock it
This man! And the way Dainslief validates Halfdan by saying “for 500 years you’ve faithfully done your duty” is top tier dialogue. That’s genuinely one of my favourite lines from the entire story!
I won't lie, this quest made me cry lol! Both at when Lumine saw Aether and that ending cutscene with Dainsleif and Halfdan's soul. That last cutscene is probably my favorite cutscene in the entire game now, the feels hit me like a TRUCK. This quest actually did give quite a bit of lore, and I think the stuff they introduced but left unanswered (for example, the "it" Dain mentions that kept him conscious) has made me even MORE excited for the next quest we get with Dainsleif.
Not gonna lie, this whole quest just made me love Dainsleif a lot, especially as a character. He's really complex and fascinating, and I feel like he does have good intentions in a way. Definitely cemented him as one of my favorite characters in the game!!

Me who’s gone to the chasm without unlocking Inazuma, didn’t do dainsleif quest, has gone to explore and damaged qixing’s property and builds, and has interrupted a bunch of mellilith and nearly got a ten year sentence: *nervous sweating*
I feel you; I was so excited to do the archon quest... until I realized I had to do another quest to open the map. Also, Dain's quest gave me some answers, a bit of confusion, and a lot of pain and suffering.

I absolutely love these traveler twins quest. Can't believe its been a year since the we will be reunited quest. The amount of lores these quest gives out is just so deeeep and im all in to play the game until the story ends! Halfdan's sacrifice in the end got me sad, even in the end while suffering, he finished his mission to protect everyone, plus dain's line to him "so, no need to revive the homeland" just hits so hard.
As for ur question, i'd say keep the world quest for unlocking the area here unless u wanna 100% chasm this soon ehe. Thanks for this amazing video, I really enjoy recapping the stories by watching ur vids! Hope u have a good day! ^^

I only have one question: what exactly happened 500 years ago? At this point it's pretty clear that whatever happened is deeply connected to how the current Teyvat is
The thing is, what happened 500 years ago isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Dragonspine was nuked by Celestia way before that, so was Tsurune island, and probly many more.
Celestia nukes civilizations that get too advanced, too close to uncovering Celestia's origins.
@@Afbuster Yes, but there must be a reason why the origins of Teyvat must be kept secret. Otherwise it doesn't make sense for them to destroy their nation. And even if you knew about the book in Enkanomiya, it doesn't point out anything dangerous (or, at least, not that we know about). There must be something else behind this whole thing
Celestia was being very secretive about everything. They seems to fear their rule being challenged.
I love how meaty this update is because of the archon quest and new area! Should keep me busy for a few weeks as long as i dont binge the game.
On another note the archon quest and world quests were pretty sad. The situation with halfdan as well as the fituus in the Chasm really hit me in the feels, more so with the fituus’ than halfdan since im more familiar with them.

The curse can't be removed by force, but would taking out the source work? Of course it implies killing a god possibly far stronger than the Sustainer. Also when Traveler questioned Dainsleif on saving Khaenri'ah, you can just feel the thought of working with the Abyss crossed their mind

this quest made me feel all sorts of things man it was HEAVY. especially when dain started explaining why hilichurls wear masks it just hit me. the world quests were really annoying but in my head it payed off even though it was short.
on another note, love your commentary! can't wait for the chasm exploration video :D the place is extremely cool and it has no rights to be that amazing. tho be careful! i heard chasm makes some people dizzy and nautious so if you do feel bad remember to take breaks often
Aaa this was one of my favorite archon quest so far but it did felt too shortt :( I'm really not sure who's side to pick its a 50/50 for me but I'm kinda leaning more towards dain

This is handsdown the best quest in the game yet. I have never cried this hard about anything in this game except when I got Venti on his first banner, winning 50/50. That's also when I realized that I have a stronger emotional connection to Dain than I originally thought o.o I thought I got my emotions sorted this time but the last cutscene still got me shed a few tears 😩 I hope it won't be another year till we get more Dain content AND DON'T YOU DARE MANIFEST THAT HE DIES 😭 loved your reaction to everything as always and your cheesy jokes definitely helped with keeping me a little more calm! I can't wait for the chasm exploration video

This quest was so good but the more we go deeper into the story the more I have trust issues towards the archons. I think betrayal is upon us and I can't shake off that feeling. Dain showing more emotions this quest was so important, I loved Halfdan so much. Also your commentary is so entertaining as always I could listen to you talk for hours.
yeah I'm so interested to seeing how all these things tie into eachother, khaenri'ah, the archons, the fatui aaaaa there's so much stuff

I loved this archon quest so much. It gave us so much lore, and honestly it made me so sad. I didn’t expect it to make me bawl my eyes out but it was too heartbreaking knowing the background of hilichurls and serpent knights. Made me feel more suspicious about the archons and made me question more whether they are the bad guys. This is why egg will always be my fav archon bc she wasn’t involved in the destruction of Khaenri’ah.
