brandon looks like an absolute beast, walking out squats, deadlifting beltless and only 28, many years left on the clock, hottest lift-off too. Could have gone for second place with a more conservative 3rd attempt on DL but went for the win and left it all on the platform. looking forward to hearing him talk about the meet on the brocast
It's expensive to hold these events, plus with only 9 lifters it'd be an honor to just be there. Hopefully it'll grow larger and larger, best meet to watch.
He is a juggernaut athlete. They all walk out their squat for the most part. Sling shot record breakers had a monolift and Andy Wong walked out his squats too. Not all competitions have a monolift so some coaches make sure that their athletes practice the lifts in the way that they will see it in most competitions. It's called specificity. Hope that helps.
Those back steps before the squats looked dangeous af. Isn't there any squat rack on the market where you don't have to take steps back but rather just unrack and the arms holding the weight fold complete out of your way? I mean wouldn't it be better to adjust yourself for the squat with the weight supported and then just perform rather than risking injury while walking backwards with the weight?
@@plilp because some federations require a walkout, e.g. usapl, ipf, uspa, basically all the top raw federations do not use monolifts. Even at events like this when monolifts are available some lifters take it as a point of pride and/or good practice to walk out the squat and perform the lift as it would be done in any gym
I don't know if there is some specific rule about this in this federation but the spotter helping him walk this out could cause a no lift call. That was always true in every federation I ever lifted in. Not his fault but the spotter should stop assisting the walkout. The sport has been watered down enough.
God damn Hagrid can put up quite a total

Only figures that he would get injured with such a bright future in the sport
It’s a shame he never reached his potential.
This channel is freaking great. It needs more subscribers. Keep up the good work!
Wow nearly breaking your back for $6000 3rd place that's sucks! These guys deserves more $$$ .

Its already a very big payday in the scene, you obviously dont follow powerlifting that much, no money in just competing
6:10 She slapped his ass
Jenny's his wife lol
@@SteezySteez2011 but she still slapped his ass
My favorite lifter all time….just like this dude
Unpopular opinion: the music was actually dope! made the lifts more hype for me.
The judge with the red shirt at 3:46 in the background kinda looks like Thanos....totally blending in...
great bench form
the woman helping him un rack his bench is a beast hahaha
Mute is better than this music
Yacoub Triki I love the music so shush
For real this shit sucks. Nice abs btw
Was that a beltless deadlift🤐
what's the BGM guys?
And those squats was deeper than thor’s?? Yeah ok judge. Brandon Allen is a beast
Brian Shaw MCs powerlifting meets in his off hours
So fuckin crazy the size that people get for powerlifting.
Brandon Allen walks his squats out like a real man
how was those squats deep enough? looked hella high
When u big your quads make your squats look a little higher. Also certain angles can make it look higher or lower
They weren't
different judges different requirements? if the judge says it’s good...
What’s the point of the monolift if they walk out anyways?
Only he did the walkout
Brandon hates monolifts and walks his squats out every time. Thats what he prefers and he was the only one who walked out in big dogs

It’s weird, if the bar got past my knees it’s for sure going up
You’d like to think so..

Ah I just watched another video of the event and the other lifter didn't actually walk back. Not sure why Brandon chose to do so... Looks scary.
