    Very handy to have windows that match the wedges without having to XML and somehow add a second layer to create a seal. Perhaps a future in turbine cars like the Chrysler if we had 1x1 jet engine pieces? xD.

      also we technically have 3x1 wedges (medium wing) so maybe we could get a full set of those without xml? (and also some way to merge from 1x1 wedges to 2x1 wedges without having jagded edges?)

    I think the best solution for developers would be a block "builder", similar to micro controllers, only the dimensions of the block could be changed.

    For more structural block variants, I'd suggest devs add an in-game block shape editor similar to the XML way but less powerful :D
    The game From the Depths does a good job with this. There are a lot of shape variants within the game, not to mention the mimic block and the decoration.

    MRNJ had a rescue service mod that would send out a vehicle to save you when you're screwed. "NJ AI Rescue Service" its an add-on.

    I would love to have tires that can pop off. so that if you break it you can't fix them with just a welder but you also need to mount a new wheel on it again.

    Btw, really cool video, a nice idea would be adding enclosed barrel to cover the hole made by an autocannon for example in a wing, just to avoid watching all the inside.

    Floats - just cutting off the ends would be ideal. Then we could add our own cones (or not) and stack them to an arbitrary length.

    They can't change the button hitbox because that voxal is taken up by the external input logic node

    17:00 i was hoping you would bring up the paint block. i really would like to paint at more than one side. i recently decided to make a flag to mount on a pole on my ship and realized that it needed to be 3 wide in order to have it "wave" on a pivot and it just looks weird, but having the ability to just paint all sides of one block would elevate paint schemes on smaller builds

    2:27 I think the real fix would to be to add draggable wedges and pyramids and everything like that. no need for a bunch of different wedges when you can have 1 draggable one

    2 things i personaly would like to see.
    -Track wheels should be devided by track width but have ajustable diameter like regular wheels. This would alow for more realistic tracks with idler wheels. I would even add that you could have track wheel bogies with 2 or 3 wheels per bogie.
    It would be nice to have simulated track tension that "droops" if its to loose , like a ferdinand tank destroyer that is curently not possible.
    -More Windows....

    Great video and ideas :) I love the hose/rope port idea, button hit box, arrows buttons and windows!! It is awesome you put them in a well thought out video. It would be cool to have a big flip switch option as well, that does not require electricity, and while we are at it, the big dial could also be selected to be a bar scale.

    what about a rope port/pipe system with enclosed blocks to allow the creation of custom pulleys and custom routing through creations. this would make helicopter winch booms SO much more space efficient.

    I agree with all, except for composite. 1, pivots won't separate vehicles, so no need for composite data send/rcv, and they only need 1 input, 2, composite needs microcontrollers to work, making some creations overcomlicated.

    I think the reason for composite not being on everything is that it can be very confusing for new players to try and figure out and i know i was confused trying out composite for the first time

    I think it could be nice to have like materials in the paint menu so you could select a material to paint with that changes the textures, it would make windows easier as you could make glass blocks.

    about the hitboxes, Stormworks cannot place a input or output node outside of the blocks hitbox. so making a 1x1 button means that you would only be able to have 1 node of each type (data, compsite, power etc etc).
    Look at any bock with node connections on them. None of those nodes extend outside of the hitbox

    my top 5 wishes (i have like a 1000 but these are top 5 blocks)
    1 2x2 jet engines
    2 more windows that match normal blocks like 1x2s
    3 rope/hoses/cable connectors that fit on a pipe
    4 detail blocks (some smaller blocks in general for some nice details rather then using sensors and xml etc.)
    5 better/more seats

      Maybe the possibility to remove the functionality of blocks? It would remove any output possibility, and makes it the cost of a normal block, but keeps the look of the blocks. And/or „skins“ for blocks, so you can choose between idk, 2-3 variants of the look of some of the sensors, to add even more possibilities for details.
      And fix the hitbox, for everything, the seats, the buttons, the instrument panels, the connectors (especially the default container ones, how isn’t it possible to spawn container already connected?!)
      Edit: You already mentioned most of the hitbox thing lol
      Edit2: Make Paintable Signs into a Paint mode (like the plain-filling, etc.) so you can use detailed paintings on two adjacent sides of a block!
      And, last but not least: MAKE IT A SETTING! If you have a meaningful change, (like the building camera change for example) make it possible to turn on/off! And this goes for practically anything!
      (Although SW is a game that does this quite well, theres still room for improvement imo).

    one of these was kind of annoying to me when i was first starting the game, the arrow buttons and flip switches. I saw them on lots of creations but never could find them eventually i found out it was an instrument panel and still being new to the game had NO idea how to use those and trying to figure out composite was overwhelming at the time. but now I can finally use them lol

    I know thale's mod pack did alot of the fixes you mentioned but sadly its not supported in MP. everyone has to have the mod pack installed for it to be used in MP. a smaller pulley would be nice too

    I would realy like to be able to paint the butons on the istrument panel. And be able to run cables thru the pullys so it can transmit composit.

    Seeing as we have nets, joining separate bodies I would like to see tracks along the same lines. Trying to make a tracked vehicle but give up all suspension is really shitty and has ruined more than one of my builds.

    when u talked about the straight pulley, couldnt you just use 2 rope anchors attached to each other? also i dont get the composite thing with the pivots cause you connect to them directly and wouldnt composite be obsolete? otherwise great video!

    The reason why the buttons have hit boxes in front of them is because in storm works, only one data node can occupy one block of space, to avoid data nodes overlapping and interfering with each other.
    because the buttons have an internal and external on/off input, they require two blocks of space, since the two sided buttons have the same inputs, they only require the two nodes.
    The only way to remove the button’s hit boxes without completely breaking logic would be to convert all on/off inputs to a composite, but would be very complicated and not beginner friendly, and would also break all other craft using the on/off inputs.

    A window for every wedge! We have 1x1 1x2 and 1x4 wedges, so why do the windows only go to 1x3, the only wedge we dont have! New windows such as the 2x4, 2x2, matching all the exact shapes as the pyrmids we have right now!

    The buttons I know what's going on. The open air 'hitbox' is a 'don't put something here' because they have that second logic node for inputs (Input so a something else can activate the button remotely). So those won't be changed.

    Stormworks desperately needs some attention to the balance and polish of the world. Mission generation and rewards are totally out of whack. It generates a lot of extremely low value missions like transporting 1 guy across the map which will give you like 2k and 1 tech point. Or worse, towing a small boat from way out in the ocean to across the map for a similar amount. Terrible missions like that should just not be generated and towing missions should have a reward based on distance. Personally I would recommend that only fairly big missions be announced on the map, but that every poi be populated with smaller things you can optionally do if you happen to be there. POI's should have people and cargo that could be optionally transported around for example.
    Anywhere that has a port should also have a land vehicle workbench so you can spawn something to move containers around with. Right now everyone is trying to stuff builds like that into the train workbench which often means using mechanism parts to rotate things in such a way to make them fit, it's awkward, and not every port even has one of those. We have shipping containers, but it's not practical to actually ship them using ships for the reason above, but also because the rewards would be terrible compared to doing it with a train.
    The new fishing gantry is a pain in the ass to use, put a magall and/or a rope connector on it so we can keep the connection point over the hopper.
    The tsunami siren needs to be addressed. Firstly, the sound should be spatial, you should hear it coming from whatever nearest island has the emitter with a volume that scales by distance. Secondly, you should be able to acknowledge and silence the alarm after it's started. Alternatively, there should be a tsunami warning sensor that we can configure in our crafts to do a similar thing so that we can wire it up to an alarm or visual display as we wish. Currently you can either disable it completely, and likely get caught out by it because you didn't know it was coming, or have it enabled in which case 10% of the game is listening to a loud siren. Not great.

      Every base starts with 100 coal, however the only way to obtain more is literally by mining, which can only be obtained in two locations. It makes using coal fired vehicles highly impractical, like other fuel, we should be able to buy coal in multiple locations.

    they did the hitboxes of buttons etc like that due to the logic nodes. otherwise we could easily clip several nodes into each other and possibly run into issues using them then complain.
    the hitboxes are just a preventive messure for unqualified nonsense neg reviews you can see all over the gaming platforms and stuff

    7:00 I think the reason you cant do that is because of the external input (2 nodes total for each button) and thats why you can have a block on the other side of a 2 sided button, so maybe there can be a 2nd version of buttons without the external inputs? (also seat hitboxes just being horrible in general)

    I would like to also add, that in the Q&A, the devs have gone 'there's a mod for that' or 'you can edit the XML' in response to several requests.
    I would like to relay to the devs, should they ever read these youtube comments, that if the answer to a request is 'there is a mod for that' or 'edit the XML file', you are WRONG. Immediately. Straight up.
    It should NEVER be a goto to ask a player to modify their game from the exterior environment. This defeats the entire point of the integrated interface of the game itself. Secondly, mods are clunky by nature, and rely on people who may lose interest in maintaining their mod after a certain period of time.

    like the ideas. but...... they should add advanced weather system not like copy and paste.
    Everything random weather can change random wind like for every seed diffrent (random wind and rain)
    natural disasters can stay the same idc about everything else.
    Waves should be bigger kinda bored.
