i have an athlon 64 x2 4800+ i got from the original owner. the owner didn't touch it at all since new, didn't even replace the original thermal paste from the cooler. it was in perfect condition and at some point i scratched it :c might have been in 2018 when i spent a week using this athlon as my main system because of some issue i had on my pentium g3250 machine at the time. the athlon played warframe at around 40-50fps all low paired with 6gb of 800mhz (most likely) ddr2 and a radeon 5670 512mb. when hosting online play, the athlon would drop to around 12 fps lol it served me well while i used it and was even fast enough to play youtube at 720p with few problems when overclocked to 2.9ghz. it managed to finish a cinebench r15 test running at 2.98ghz i think but can't remember the score. it must have been a very decent chip when it came out.
Yeah.... Hate to say it, CPUs rarely get me excited. They're like a tool, either they're good for the job, or they're not. The other stuff you got kind of looks like it was ran over by a car.
As rock dual vista ultimate AGP build. All most got one for 10 euros, but at the end seller refuse to send it. 2:56 Better luck next time :) But that Athlon and Voodoo 2 if they works its awesome match
I have one of those asrocks 4coredual vsta coupled with a Q6600 (almost its max supported cpu) and a Saphire 3850. Only issue is the board will only take the Q6600 up to ca. 2.390 mhz. I'm sure for the era, in windows XP, a good C2D would be faster, but haven't looked into it. That cpu is about half the way of what it supports: Pentium D 805 Smithfield 2.66GHz 533MHz 2MB The old slot 1 board makes me want to build a reverse sleeper pc, awesome case with glass and RGB, hidden cables but 1or2 Voodoo2 in SLI + agp gpu from the era, and a awe64 or some good isa sound card.
I recently picked up a Slot A Athlon 900 Thunderbird for £25, i really wanted a geniune 1000 as its historical value for being the first 1Ghz chip, however the last sold for £350..so i will just overclock it ;) I am looking at a Gigabyte GA-7VX that seller asks a lot of money at £150 but was dream build, i got given a hercules 3d prophet Geforce 2 GTS that will pair perfectly for windows 98, i wonder what the CPU will do! It has a big cooler with 2 fans so i expect good results, full cache speed, i wonder if i'd be lucky enough to get it to 1400Mhz :)
900MHz TB for 25 is like super deal. Fortesting and fun better way before waiting for 1GHz. I saw +/-five pieces 1GHz one during years, all sold for 300-500 bucks. Hard to find and pay. All mine cost me lot of stuff in exchange deals. MB is not so problem to find ... any brand. Only needs some time. Overclocking ending at 1.1 maybe 1.2, this is roof.
@@RETROHardware As long as it does 1000Mhz i am happy, maybe a little higher ;) I saw Athlon 500-800 going for roughly double what i paid for mine, only issue now is repaste, friend has shown me how he pops plastic peice off but it can be a little damaging to edges of plastic, my plastic pry tool no good. may try again tommorow :)
Thought so too but it seems too have be the version for intel 775 here, the Alpine 7, just wasnt installed properly i think being that easy too pull out. The Alpine 64 is the AMD version of this cooler.
The only interesting things are the asrock 4coredual vsta board with its ddr and ddr2 slots plus pcie x16 and agp 8x as well as the q6600 and the opteron 939. I would say, the board is more interesting than everything else. Q6600 are like sand and the socket 939 was too short lived to be meaningful.
do u have an email adres so i can contact you? i dont have social media and i have some retro parts that can fit in your collection (some need repairs) that differs between 95-08 i only request to pay for shipment i dont need anything above it, i love your channel and i came to a point where i need to thin out my collection so if i can donate it to someone who does have care for it..
this is more fun then scratch off tickets for gambling.
the slot 1 athlon, opteron and pentium 4 ES were good finds imo
Organizing the tech hoarding. This is what we do.
Damn, I love your videos!
Nice! Hope you can repair the Voodoo 2!
legs are not separated from chip or PCB so propably yes ... without soldering
Some new old CPUs :)
Unboxing banch of 478 cpus is a nice moment
Great Video, hope to see more content Like this! ;)
Yay Voodoo 2, E8400 is not bad either.
Next video idea about slot cpu comparison?
Nice, how much hardware over all you get from germany?
I also had Opteron 180 in the past on DFI Lanparty NF4.

This is normal condition after 20 years, if it costs few bucks, no problem here. You can repair high % of items if not fatal PCB damage.
I have a Diamond Monster just like that been tryin to sell it but no takers as yet. I also have one of those Conroe Kentsfield Asrock boards.
Shame about the damage to the ASRock board. It could have been a good project board.

Thanks for pinup, can't wait to see what will you do with those parts.
Q6600 another build, legends never die
I would like to see this Slot A motherboard working and how You bring it back to life.
ohh u got a 3.4ghz P4 - how much did that cost u ? and the opteron 180 - both very rare thats a 2.4 isnt it - ive got a 175 @2.2

Would you try moded BIOS with c2qXE support?
@@ApostolCV i tested with the most recent bios from asrock. Haven't look for modded ones.

The CPU cooler is installed incorrectly in the mainboard (ASRock). It belongs to the AMD mainboard.

it is assembled in plastic frame for LGA775 ... but yeah quite bizzare, never seen this version
Capacitors on the first motherboard are bad.

Have a question, a have a Pentium EE 965, live in Poland, can sell it for you, are you interested?
Number of interesting CPUs=1 (Athlon Slot A).Other=scrap😢
Maybe you have a word record overclocking cpu here!!
haha yes ... maybe ... in dream 😀
1:08 Diamond Monster 3D II Voodoo 2👍 habe ich auch noch in meiner Sammlung
5:13 Q6600 2400@3399👍
is it just me Oo or is he not talking ..... -.-

Much of crap, like celeron's and 4600+ and another that nothing cost today
Voodoo 2 from Diamond is the only valuable thing... And that one was broken...(((
after detail inspection, looks like all legs are OK - not separated from chip or PCB so with some kind of luck, can be repaired without soldering
@@RETROHardware I really hoped so! Happy for you!
