As an American may I suggest while you are here you enjoy our national pass time, shooting an AR15 into a tannerite stuffed giant gummy bear while eating a double bacon cheeseburger with a cold PBR all while listening to motley crue!
I really enjoyed that episode, Matt ;-) Top tip for a squirrel up a tree that is running to the opposite side all the time - get your mate with the camera to walk around the tree making noise while you stand still and quiet. They'll often shuffle around to your side away from the noise and I don't need to tell you the rest ;-)
I am pleased that one of the landowners mentioned the fact that squirrels had ruined the wiring in one the barns. Same thing happened to a neighbor. Not only did the squirrel eat through some wiring in the attic but in doing so, his house was destroyed in the subsequent fire caused by our friend....Mr. Squirrel. Nice video Matt!
Thanks FX Airguns. My Royale DOES have power settings but the accuracy I'm getting from pellets (JSB Mark II's & Diablo 25.39's) is really amazing. What a superb piece of equipment.
Great work Matt. Met your Mate Brad at our church in south Australia , Impact church. He got me onto your videos and I love them. Shows the real sport of shooting.
1,502 views in 50 minutes. Remarkable. Guardian of the nuts. Sounds like the next big sci fi movie is on the way... Love it. I lived in North Carolina and many a deer, rabbit and squirrel found its was to my freezer there. Wonderful to see you help a farmer with a pest problem. It's also wonderful to be able eat your quarry from a pest hunt. "Welcome to North Carolina." Yup... Thick brush and ticks. Nice video.
@@-_-Retrou I really doubt that he said that the US is the only country with pest control issues. Where did you get that from? All he did was said welcome. You should learn how to read.
Welcome to America. North Carolina is a great state, nice people, and the topography is varied. From mountains to rolling hills to the ocean, beautiful.
I hope you had a great time in North Carolina. That's about 2 hours from where I am. You're definitely right about October, November. The squirrels are everywhere down here.
Barefoot, in the brush, in North Carolina, in the summer... Dude, you have balls of steel !!!!! Do you know how many different species of flora and fauna just LIVE to get 'hold of a human foot?
that first squirrel got his world ROCKED holy balls i never knew these types of air rifles existed!!! came from the IV8888 video and subbed for sure!! Can't wait to learn more about these!!
Matt. I live in North Carolina. In that part of the country I would strongly recommend wearing high top boots. Waking into brush you may find a venomous snakes there. Easter Carolina has nasty rattlesnakes. Great shooting as always.
Never expected you to get in my neck of the woods! Have been drooling over that air rifle ,just never have had the spare change. Yeah lets see how you do with our country squirrels, show me a trick kid!
i don't know anything about hunting dassies or egyptian geese ,but, often when a grey squirrel goes around the backside of a tree throwing a stick or rock past the tree to make some noise will cause them to come back to your side.great video as usual.
A little trick you can try if they're in their nest, or drey as they call them in the UK, is to put a pellet into the edge of the nest, the squirrel sometimes pops his head out to see what the disturbance is ;)
Here in the southeast we see lots of squirrel activity in the late summer. There are so many of them, you often find a good number of them have been trampled by vehicles in the roadways
Man I wish I knew you were in NC, I live maybe an hour or two from this place and would have loved to shake your hand and say hello. Either way I'm happy to see you enjoying my home state and as always great video!
I am not allergic to poison oak, but, I am allergic to ticks and the diseases they carry. Frankly I would have left the squirrel in the heavy bush just stay there, and let nature clean it up. Hunting in my native state of Oregon is a battle between man and bugs. All types. Everything from mosquitoes to biting flies and no-see-ems, can make an outing in the woods truly miserable. Flip flops NEVER. Boots with pants legs tucked in the top maybe. Long sleeved shirts buttoned up all the way and a little bug repellant as after shave. Glad to see that you were not bothered by natures bounty in the woods. Great video Matt, as always.
A little trick i use is when the squirrel is on the opposite side of the tree throw a rock or stick on that side and they will slip back around to you and you can get a shot.
As always great video Matt! I've been subscribed, and watching your hunts, and reviews for some time now and I am so happy you have come to the U.S.! I have a question, watching you retrieve the squirrel from the thick bush I was instinctively looking for Poison Ivy, and I am curious as to if you have it in South Africa as well? Your passion for ballistic performance is contagious, and you have a real talent for shooting. I deeply respect you for your ethical considerations before each trigger pull, and that is what earned my sub. Thanks for the great vids, and keep up the great work! Best of luck at the Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge, and have a great time in the States my friend!
that is where I got my start in Air gun hunting, Pecan Orchards. That was 40 years ago and I still have the same exact Air Rifle. A .20 cal. Sheridan Blue Streak.
Tell the farmer to watch uk guy on youtube called squirrel hunter channel, they put bait boxes out, setup a hide so the squirrels come to you. Setup the bait boxes filled with peanuts, sunflower seeds between the pecan trees and where the squirrels are nesting, setup hide about 35 yards from bait box, this will seriously reduce squirrel population. Good luck.
drekceldude yup, this wasy job along with trapping them for a few years in the UK. We would also use thermal spotting scopes, made the job a lot easier
Nice to see you Back Again....Perfect Shots 🐿️ Matt, We have the same Bipods too 😍😍 Also Excited to see reviews video of Utah Airguns Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge, 2018
My Ataman a016 pistol fires those NSA 23 slugs very well. I grew up Outside of Jacksonville. About 500 miles from Wilmington. Also at Topsail Island. Try the flounder, shrimp, fried chicken , and Pork Barbecue, I'm sure the locals made sure you did. The Fish and Brunswick stew also. What do you do with the "gray Peril" meat from back home ? Should have smoked and canned some fro the trip to NC. I'm waiting for the slug liners. Nice squirrel shooting. Get with the locals for some venison too. Great Video. Hope all is well back home? Good luck.
I am a huge fan of this channel and I love in Wilmington. On the short clip of you on the boat was right beside my house. Hope you enjoyed it. What are the odds of that
My dad use to bring a extra backpack with him when he solo squirrel , he would toss the bag to the other side , and the squirrel would turn around to his side and bam ! One down
Yeah, shot 3 seems kind of iffy but okay with the spotter calling a gap in traffic, but shot 4 would have been a no go in my book. It would have just taken a smidge of ricochet to land a slug in the house.
The reason why us South Alabamians hunt 3 weeks after the first frost of the year, plus when you skin them they won't have wool worms in their hide which makes makes them to where you can't eat them.
I live in a place where owning pellet guns are legal, around your property where air gunning is perfect for me, lots of land and freedom. owning a firearm is definitely not worth it too much hassle and no freedom. Only problem is is owning a quality air gun is out of my range of expense. I own a Marauder but pcp's and the sales of them are basically impossible to find even getting a place to fill your air tank in my area. I don't get to use it like I would like to I use it basically feed myself and save money in that way but it doesn't pay. Springers and pumps are everywhere I don't know anyone who has a PCP air gun like mine probably because of the scarcity and lack of availability. Love your videos and love hunting
do those slugs come in .30 caliber? I have thee .22 and .25 barrels for my impact, but they are not good enough for groundhogs, so i got the .30 cal. for it, and nuff said, its the bees knees. i was going to buy a FX Crown, but I love my impact better than ever now with the .30 cal. barrle. great to see you back, and in the states, great!!
Great video, Matt! Cool to know you were in my neck of the woods doing some pest eradication. Keep the information coming on those STX slug barrels. I have a Crown in 30 cal. Any chance we will see a slug liner for that caliber?
FXAirguns I know where that is. That's not far from where I grew up. Didn't even know we had a pecan farm here. You got to come back to deer hunt one day.
Matt what qualifications do you need to do varmint hunting?? I have been watching your videos for a long time and you have inspired me to look into this field as a future occupation
As an American may I suggest while you are here you enjoy our national pass time, shooting an AR15 into a tannerite stuffed giant gummy bear while eating a double bacon cheeseburger with a cold PBR all while listening to motley crue!
I did most of those things, just not at the same time😂
Tannerite stuffed into a Beaver Dam is more interesting.
We drank Budweiser when lived there. Or whatever there was.
We can attest that some of the things did happen!

I hope you had a great time in North Carolina. That's about 2 hours from where I am. You're definitely right about October, November. The squirrels are everywhere down here.

VERY NICE Matt!!! EXCELLENT shooting as well, Welcome to North Carolina my friend!!! ☆Jay.

It gets a lot worse in South Africa. I am used to it...
David Bires; that sounds like Minnesota.
I grew up by Jacksonville, Rocky Run Road. I'd even wear boots in the briar thickets.
David, i feel like you are underestimating the nature of the environmental hazards of South Africa
I can not believe you took the shot on last two squirrels, one had a road behind and other had a house!
thats so nice you're feeding the squirrels
A good squirrel dog is worth it's weight in gold! Welcome to the US and good luck at the Utah competition!
Nice shot on the first squirrel and nice video
That was sweet and I live in Raleigh which is couple of hours from Wilmington.
Great shooting in a beautiful state
Matt glad you can see what kind of hunting areas i have to hunt in except im in South Carolina about 135 miles from where you are
About time you came to the states to help rid of our pest 👍🏽

We had a pecan tree in our yard when I was a kid. We hardly ever got any pecans from it because of the squirrels.
Nice shot! Great power!
Flip flops in the woods ftw.
Love to hunt "Bushy Tail". Weapon of choice is 12ga with #7.5 modified choke. Don't squirrel hunt until after deer season.

Your videos are great proud to follow you
I love hearing that thump noise when the pellet hits the squirrel

3rd & 4th shots seemed a bit risky with a road & house in the background of your target.
Agreed. Just seconds after your third squirrel shot there was traffic passing behind you. Not cool.
Was thinking the very same thing.
His spotter cleared the shot saying take it,
But I would not chance this risky shot.
