    The guy who said he has 2 or 3 dead siblings because dad was drunk driving... I would NEVER have forgiven dad if I was the mom.

    • @greatgownsbeautifulgowns
      @greatgownsbeautifulgowns 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's just crazy to me!
      She(the mom) must have really thought that she could do no better than the man who killed several of their children and maimed her because he drove drunk.

    • @crypticraps
      @crypticraps 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It's completely unacceptable.
      People shouldn't hurt anybody - but willingly putting innocent children in danger because you're irresponsible is crazy.

      I still kind of hate parents who try to hide the existence of dead siblings. Like the kid has a right to know when they are old enough IMO.

    My aunt was kiddnaped by someone named Jeffery hallsworth? In Woonsocket Rhode island back in 2004. I was about 14. My aunt was just gone for a few days, then suddenly she was being called by the news and she was in the paper and had to go to court after the hospital. Jeffrey was a serial killer that murdered 13 women I think it was. My aunt was the one that got away. I didn't hear the details from them, but I found out when I read a true crime book with my aunt's picture in it as the only survivor to a string of murders. I need to find that book.

      Jeffrey Mailhot, maybe? Is your aunt Teese Morris? There is a video on TH-cam posted by WPRI, called Web Extra: Surviving a Serial Killer that is an interview with Ms. Morris.

    Last Thanksgiving I found out that my grandfather was a product of rape.
    I met my great-grandmother once when my family came to visit from several states away when I was five. She was a very sweet old lady and adored me and my brother. She was the only great-grandparent I had ever met. I didn't even think great-grandpa, I assumed he has already died and that was why she lived with my grandparents.
    We moved to Wisconsin after her funeral, so I never met her again. Apparently, she never told anybody who raped her either.
    It wasn't a family secret or anything, it just wasn't talked about. Last Thanksgiving we were chatting after dinner and the topic fell on genetics and family history. My aunt just blurted out "Yeah, since my dad was a product of rape, we don't know much about that side."

    My family was heavily involved with the Black Hand. My great great grandfather was the #3 guy in the organization. The Black Hand is the early Italian Mafia. They primarily did extortion, alcohol, and gambling. My great great grandfather and several other relatives owned stores that were completely fronts and were mostly used for numbers. At their group home they had a brewery in the secret part of their basement. This was during the Prohibition, and they had direct lines to the sewers in case the cops came by. My mafia family are the Vizinnis and DiMauros

    Also, my grandpa had to run away from home after the local gang started trying to jump him in. He and his friends kept refusing, as they saw how it tore apart their families. They killed and castrated my grandpa's best friend right in front of him. He couldn't have been any older than 16. After that, he hightailed it to my home state where he met my gramma and got married at 17, then had my mom a few months later. She always jokes about how she was a wedding guest.

    20:15 Iron Crosses were war medals unrelated to rank - pretty much the German equivalent of Bronze and Silver Star - and especially towards the end of the war especially those of 2nd and 1st class were almost handed out like Candy. OP's grandfather owning one only proves he or onw of his relatives has fought in WW2 - at least if it's the 1939 edition which is another thing: They differ.
    A better indicator would have been his NS-Party Member book, Swastika Accessories like Cufflings or the infamous armwrist, typical literature etc. For all he said.
    Funfact: up until the 1970s Iron Cross carriers were still a pretty common sight in the modern German Army. They were even allowed to display de-Nazified versions of the Medal on their Uniforms and some had a rather interesting ribbon bands featuring pretty wild combinations. The first Commanding General of the Bundeswehr had a WW1 Iron Cross 2nd and 1st class, A WW2 Golden German Cross, multiple Wound Badges from WW1 and 2, a Finnish Freedom Cross and most ironically an American Legion of Merit he has been awarded in 1960.

      Common mistake with Americans, they don't know the difference between the Wehrmacht and the National-Socialists, leave alone what an iron cross is. You explained it well but to most Americans this is too complicated so they call everybody Nazis. They don't know any better.

    I could go on all day with my dad's side!
    - Dad went from being a cop to someone that did a few years in prison for burglary.
    - Uncle was a crackhead for a couple years.
    - Aunt spent some time in a mental institution for unknown reasons.
    - Dad had a younger brother die of cancer as a child in the 70's and when he died, my grandparents packed all the photos up and nobody was allowed to ever talk about him again.
    They're not the most mentally or emotionally healthy people...

    My cousin's dad is not his dad but he does not know that his mom, my aunt, was married to a wife-beater jerk. apparently, grandma en grandpa tried and succeeded in making her going back a few times. Pretty much everyone in the family knows except the younger generation and everyone keeps their mouth shut because she does not want him to know. More crazy is that she believes a woman should be beaten sometimes even after a relationship like that. I also have an aunt who I believe is actually is a lesbian but she refuses to come out of the closet and seems to rather want to stay in her unhappy marriage. 🤷‍♀️
