These types of technical tutorials are incredibly difficult for a lot of people to pull off correctly yet this one was perfect and even tried to teach the concept that there are multiple ways to accomplish the same thing. Bravo, sir!
installing the REbirth mod completely messes up the graphics in the game. When the characters move around they leave a trail behind them and all the background textures are messed up. Im on Windows 11, anyone know if theres a fix?
What is your graphics card, because if I remember correctly the classic rebirth team had a problem with AMD cards. But if it is not that then I'm not sure what it is. I am in the same position as you are.
@@CarcinogenSDA not an OP, but I also have similar issues. I'm on some Lenovo laptop using integrated Intel graphic card. I remember playing this rebirth mod on another laptop that had some other integrated GPU (probably also an Intel one) and I don't remember having this issue.
OOOhhh I figured it out, thanks for the replies! I have a NVIDIA graphics card but a AMD motherboard integrated graphics. I had my monitor plugged into the motherboard, not the graphics card (Duh)! I feel dumb but leaving this comment here incase someone else has the same issue as me. I just switched the monitor cable to the graphics card ports and it worked

Yeah, sales tax depends on the state that you live in if you're American. However, if you are using a VPN set to an American state and then got taxed for that, I do feel for you.
I don't believe that's accurate. When you select different languages, it pulls a different build of the game. People who have early access may have only used the English build, which is the US ISO. They may have ripped either the Japanese Sourcenext or Mediakite versions and you may be able to access them if you select Japanese language in GOG Galaxy. We just need to wait and see.

I think the hd upscale mod for re1 looks like garbage and ruins the game. For re2 and re3 it looks good but it also kinda ruins it but for a different reason... as now you have these crisp backgrounds but ps1 3d models. Looks off. You want to play the originals, then play them how they are.. you want better graphics ? Then play the remasters that's my advice.

No, because GOG only adds compatibility to old releases of games; that's what they do, that's all they need to do. What you're asking after is a "remaster", which the GOG release ("version" is not the correct nomenclature) is not intended to be.

For some reason, I get lots of glitched textures when I play REbirth 1. I've installed it to the Japanese copy of the original as well as the new GOG version with the same result. However, the standalone GOG version runs perfectly with no setup. Really wish it had quick-turn & reload buttons though
apparently this is caused by how AMD cards handle direct3d3 calls, while the GOG version uses a directx9 wrapper. According to the classicREbirth website, he's been working on a directx9 update himself, but no ETA on when it will release. there's a suggestion to use dgVoodoo2 in the troubleshooting section for the mod, but I haven't been able to get it to work Guess I'm gonna stick to emulation for now, at least the SourceNext ports of 2 and 3 work flawlessly

0:23 - Suzi who tested these releases has said that RE2 is already done. Whilst RE3 is still in development. So we'll be seeing RE2 very soon.

Windows defender exception worked for me as well. Didn't have to change anything with Steam.

Any idea why i get some sort of "tearing" from the polygonal objects like the characters in RE1 Rebirth? Search everywhere, found nothing.
Try switching the Texture Smoothing option in the launcher.

DC (Director's Cut) lets you play with the original soundtrack. DS (Dualshock) lets you play with the other soundtrack.
Don't run the ds.exe with this tutorial. The FMVs will not match up.
Im happy that it's 1:1 that way you can fix with mods. GoG is the goat for this

No, and it doesn't need to. That's what the shortcut is for, and you always land on the config window before you launch the game.

I have the sourcenext versions of RE2/3 - I assume those are still the best, right? I'm kind of torn - want to support the old gameplay style, but it's a hard pill to swallow if they're not good ports.
they're all the same port, just runnable via GOG's wrapper. difference is, you can legally buy them and mod them.

No, because GOG only adds compatibility to old releases of games; that's what they do, that's all they need to do. What you're asking after is a "remaster", which the GOG release ("version" is not the correct nomenclature) is not intended to be.

For some reason, I get lots of glitched textures when I play REbirth 1. I've installed it to the Japanese copy of the original as well as the new GOG version with the same result. However, the standalone GOG version runs perfectly with no setup. Really wish it had quick-turn & reload buttons though

apparently this is caused by how AMD cards handle direct3d3 calls, while the GOG version uses a directx9 wrapper. According to the classicREbirth website, he's been working on a directx9 update himself, but no ETA on when it will release. there's a suggestion to use dgVoodoo2 in the troubleshooting section for the mod, but I haven't been able to get it to work
Guess I'm gonna stick to emulation for now, at least the SourceNext ports of 2 and 3 work flawlessly

I'm having the same problem, 😢, I have a rtx 3070 Laptop and I Followed the instructions on the video too. Update its working now 😅 I had to restart the laptop for the changes to take effect. Thanks for the instructions.
Please help :). If I do exactly as description says, I always get the crash message "Couldnt find file /horr/jpn/voice/V101_00.wav at the start of the hall scene. Any help please?
