Full game of the classic Tengen game RBI Baseball. Many consider it to be the best baseball game for NES. Although I feel that Bad News Baseball is an improvement over RBI Baseball, there is no denying how great this game is.
During this gameplay recording, I bunted with the NL pitcher and "boom goes the dynamite" a slow rolling bunt out of the infield to the right fielder to produce a bunt inside the park homerun. Barely too, nearly thrown out at home. I condensed this in another video, this is the full game, and stands as proof it was legit.
8:00 for Bunt HR!

8:03 epic inside the park HR
Thank you
inside the park bunt home run by a cheeseburger gut pitcher
Epic bro
By the pitcher no less! Lol!
lol I never seen that one first time I can’t believe is possible 😂
I’m 51 years old now. I played this game all night with my brother and friends when I was 17 years old. One of my favorites.
Classic!!
Couldn't agree more. So many baseball games came afterwards with better graphics, etc. that weren't actually fun to play. This game is fun to play.
So many hours spent playing. I remember I once pitched a "no-hitter" against the computer and I ran to the other room to get my mom's camera and take a photo of the TV screen.
Memories like that never fade.
You should get a tattoo. That’s amazing!
Lmao
nice hahahah lmao
same thing for me and ice hockey for nes ... i think computer AI wise canada russia or czech were toughest computers .. i tried to smash every team using the least best AI computer team
Nice
Music and sound effects are giving me chills, haven't heard them in over twenty years.
tipsyhippy83 2019 “Respect and dignity.” Furthermore:
but as soon as you hear it again, you remember it vividly like it was yesterday.. crazy
I've loved this game for over 20 years. It's an huge part of my childhood.
Loved the video.
Me too
Playing it right now!!!…🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’m over 40!…😂🤣
I remember being amazed that this game had real players.
Whenever I was the A.L. I had to sub in McGwire for Randolph at the start of every game. You can’t leave 49 home runs on the bench.
I did that too. Plus Randolph royally sucked (at least in this game) and wouldn't be the ideal lead off hitter
Me too!
Same!
Just want to say thanks to everyone who has watched and liked this video. Appreciate the views.
Is it me, or does the one song here sound like the one song in the NES baseball game: Bases Loaded???
As someone who grew up in the 80's and who is a life long Twins fan, this was the greatest game. I love the bunt home run. As much as I loved being the '87 Twins (with Puckett, Hrbek, Gaetti, and Brunansky hitting homers), I would occasionally play as the Cardinals (Vince Coleman, Ozzie Smith, etc.) who were very fast and only bunt and steal bases as my whole offense - and hit several bunt home runs with them. Good stuff!
I remember I used to play this game with my brother when I was younger and My brother died 5 months ago while I am writing this now so I was missing my brother today and it reminded me of this beautiful game memory♥️ I don't wanna cry but I can't hold it 😭
34 years later, and I can still mercy rule every team no matter which team I choose (not just the all-stars). There's something about that muscle memory from hours of playing old NES games.
And they trained us well.
My dad played this game all the time with his brother and the neighbors kids. I recently found his old nes and now I’m playing the game he played decades ago.
I love hearing stories about things like that, that's kinda heartwarming. Glad I could being back some good memories and hold on to that NES, it's an heirloom.
@@deiradinn I will hold on to the console. I’ve always wanted one. Maybe I can pass it onto my future kids.
Me and my Friends in junior high would spend hours up all night playing tournaments and I always love to be St. Louis because they were the fastest team thanks for sharing this great video!
I will be 90 yrs old on my death bed....and this music will still be in my head
same here :)
same
The soundboard and soundtrack to this game could narrate my childhood all by itself. Hours upon hours upon hours of play for years. CPU or head to head with my friends Eddie, John D, Dennis, C.J., Dominic, and anyone else who came over or vice versa.
I would hear the music in my head all night
Oh the hours and hours I spent in the mid 80s as a kid playing this game. Memories!
I wish I could go back just for an afternoon.
My friends and I played a lot of stick ball and whiffle ball as kids, but on rainy days, it was RBI baseball....It's interesting to note the difference in generations. Video games aren't what they are today, but to us back then they were, however they didn't run our lives. It was something to do when you couldn't be outside...Thanks for the post.....I actually did watch the whole game, just bringing back memories of the ball players back then made me smile
used to play this for HOURS...sometimes home runs would go thru the wall lmao
Can't believe they're bringing this game back!!! So stoked!!!
They are, holy fuck yes!
I learn baseball with this game when i was young
The gameplay was very intuitive, which made it a lot of fun. Most of the problem I had was my own mistakes, running or throwing because I hit the wrong button.
First video game that I ever played. My dad got my brother and I an NES when I was six years old and this was the game he introduced us to it with.
The NES was my first console as a kid (I’m 21 going on 22) and this was one of the first games I ever played. Good times.
Still play this on my laptop with an emulator. All these years later and still one of the best baseball games ever!
Likewise.... I wonder whether we could organize an online competition
Bunt home run begins at 8:03.
thank you sir
Thanks. My bad.
That was maybe the one and only flaw of the game. The computer was programmed to automatically have the closest fielder to the ball chase it, even if it was clear he had no chance of getting it. Thus resulting in lots of inside the park HRs, and triples that should be singles, lol.
Laziest first baseman ever
That’s crazy
I came looking specifically for the home run sound effect. Still just as cool as when I was 6. Nice.
8:35 When my friends and I used to play this, we called that situation a "cup check".
It's to cold to go outside at recess so the teacher brought her nes and its the most competive shit ever
For angels to fly, for angels to die.
The Three Musketeers lol
I just watched this whole thing with my 10-year old son. In describing the game, I told him that we always subbed in Dale Murphy for Pedriq. I lost it when the game player did the same thing! Thanks for the great memories!
You're welcome. I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
9:29 the best sound for hitting a ball.. we ned this in new games. gotta love when the ball sound cuts out all of the music except for one channel.
RBI baseball & Mike Tyson's punch out were my 2 favorite Nintendo games as a kid.
Also tecmo bowl
Remember how the computer would always stage a massive comeback in the 9th?
Game companies still doing those kinda things lol.
I remember blowing the computer out in this game most the time every once in a while it played tough against me
On NBA Jam, I called it "catch-up logic"
We used to get annoyed how the computer will “call” the flyouts lol
Man this brought back so many memories. I played the hell out of this game back in the 90s
I used to LOVE playing this game as a kid I was 11 I wish they remake this Game I Miss this Game
At Christmas time my 2 brothers and I would have tournaments. After I beat me older brother, he yelled out 'CHEATING FUCKING GAME". I hammered him in the game and so did my mom after the game.
Canseco hit an absolute Bomb!!!
Great game, still fun to this day.
1:59 so that’s where that Mr. Bungle sound bite comes from
I used to to LOVE this game! Just watching this brings back soo many good childhood memories.
Glad it did. :)
This was my game right here!!! Nobody ever wanted to play me cuz I couldn't be beat.
That whistle sound effect on a run scoring never gets old.....
That is true lol.
When i was a kid, i was in the hospital and on my way home my mom took my to toys r us to buy this. Man I loved this game. Thanks mom.
Same here, I really miss her.
Rbi Baseball and Tecmo Bowl. Those were the only two games this middle schooler needed at the time!
Love this Game .... 1986 New York Mets Baseball ⚾🇺🇸❤️🙏✝️ World Series Champions 🏆 .... great Memories
This game takes me back. I would play this with my friend Daryl. He would kick my butt all the time. It was great fun
that catchy music!!
Sure is, embedded into my brain for life! lol.
WOW!!! So many memories, use to love this fuhqn game. Thanx for the vid brothaman.
I remember everything about this game. Awesome!
Lol he run faster to the dugout than running to the base!!!😂🤣
Loved this game. Brings back great memories.
Friends and I use to load up on snacks and sit around having tournaments. Jack Clark was one deadly hitter,my go to guy late in a game.
Wow this brings me back :)
What kind of memories?
Love game and I still play it, but the fielders have the most doody arms ever.
Played this at Mike Talbott's house. The whole neighborhood would gather there to play. His mom Maizey would smoke cigs and laugh at us. Then we would go up by Will Kumps & Beliens house and play football in the yard. Elkins, WV was the perfect small town to grow up in. A simpler life.
I always loved the special effects when you hit a home run.
I love this game. Fun simple controls and brings back lots of childhood memories.
The first time EVER Andre Dawson GOES the other way with a seeing eye single TO RIGHT in the top 1st !!
Used to play this every single day!!! I wish I could play it now!
No matter how advanced gameplay is today, it's always refreshing to go back to the original classics
That bunt home run tho!
293. 37 hr's. 100 ribbys. 50 sb's... In 120 games . ken griffy junior, 20 sb's topps. In a span of 162 games between 86 and 87, davis hit 58 hr's, batted in 140.. AND HAD 110 SB's. You can go back 100 years, nobody ever had that kind of all around stat production. Nobody even came close. Ever. In the history of the grand sport
It's to cold to go outside at recess at school so our teacher brought her nes and its the most competive shit ever
Just might be my favorite baseball game of all time....
I remember playing this game for hours! Lol loved it 🤣
I remember teaching the rules.of baseball to my cousin, he didn't know about tagging up at all.
My uncle and I would play this until like 4am. We would play "a" ball, until 2 strikes and then pitch as you want.
Polish Sausage we had a rule that you just tap the pitch button to pitchers lol
Charles Stewart that's what I mean by "a" ball, you just tap the 'a' button which was pitch, and you had to keep your pitcher square on the mound, but after 2 strikes, all bets were off.
Polish Sausage I bet the scores were high.
My brother and I use to have many hours of fun with this game. I remember Pedrique always sucked but I'll never forget the time I hit a home run with him when I was by myself. My brother didnt believe me 😂
Andre Dawson was the man in this game. I could hit 4 home runs in one game with him sometimes.
The Athletics were by far the best hitting team.
Played so many games of this as a kid the first fun baseball game on nes.
My dad would play this until 4 in the morning when it came out
Dude!! Freaking 8:02.. in all my years of playing this game I have NEVER seen that before.
First Baseman isn't too bright lol
OMG! Thank you for uploading this video. I actually try to trade my Dale Murphy rookie card for it.
"Hey"
"Huh"
"… that's not a home run."
"Yeah, maybe not technically, but..."
"You said he'd hit two home runs"
"Oh, come on. Bobby, Bobby! That's just as good"
Bottom 2 was done in 4 pitches.
Impressive.
I was rusty tbh and at the time TH-cam had upload limits. I'm glad people enjoyed remembering this awesome game.
Your bunt homerun should go down in video game sports history! You can really play this game. Knowing how far to move based on the sound. That's crazy! What happened at 13:00? Why an out?
DeWente69 I tried to stop my swing and ended up bunting, with two strikes a bunted foul ball is an out. My bad.
Charles Stewart Oohhhh...OK. I never knew that was a rule. I was like "Why isn't that just a plain foul!?!" My uncle used to smoke weed and play tournaments of this game when he was younger. Crazy.
DeWente69 man that sounds like a great time. This game is timeless.
@@DeWente69 bunts on 2 strikes is an out in real baseball because one can just bunt easier and tire out the pitcher
@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 So it was a programming bug. He took a more than half of a full swing, but the game treated it like the bat was just being held out for a bunt.
Half of the players in this game are managing and coaching in the bugs right now lol!Great memories😎
Remember loving this game and hating the music lol. I couldn't play on mute cause I used the audio of the pitch to help me.
I need to get that music for my ringtone
It's on Zedge I think.
This was my favorite ball game of the NES.
Mr. Bungle sound effect confirmed.
i think i only played rbi baseball 3, never this one, but fun watch! it was the cleanest, best pleasure
Thanks, I couldn't calculate how many hours I've spent playing this since I was 7.
Damn Tim Raines leading off with 30 HR followed by Ryne Sandburg
I remember the cartridge for this game was black and shaped differently from the other NES cartridges. I always thought it seemed a bit bootleg because of that. Great game though, countless hours spent and I learned the game of baseball.
Most Tengen games looked like that
wow that bunt home run was amazing! this game rules, lol
That music ❤
Very nice game
I remember putting this in Watch mode and screwing with the team that I wanted to loose lol. Man those were fun times. I was around 12 years old when I got my first NES.
*lose* ,not loose. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@jayskicksnfits9372 Hey give me a break this was 7 years ago, and I suck at typing on a phone. I need to stick to computer only lol.
Love It..Miss it
The nostalgia bug is for real on this one.
I think I saw Fernando Valenzuela point to the right field on that homerun!!!
I remember many times the ball going up against the fence and when you tried to throw to 3rd or home the ball would get stuck in the stands.
Did you ever have the audio stick during a popup?
This was me and my dad's game.
AKA - my history of playing sports in the 80s.
Memories are amazing.
It even has the glitch where George Brett is a right-handed hitter.
Not only did I bunt a homerun LOL but I think it was with my pitcher ( Dwight Gooden )
Fernando was chugging 'round those bases!
My childhood
Best game ever.
sports talk basbeall for genesis is by far the best sports game
50mph change up, such good game
Nothing better than the pitch in the dirt me and my brother had pitching duel's always a close game.
memories. i was like 8
DAMNIT!!! I WANNA PLAY NES ITSELF AGAIN!!
I still have this game
Physical?
Yes, I do. I still have this my Nintendo in my bedroom
