UPDATE: Besides putting all the songs back up, Bo has just republished all of his tweets dating from May 14th 2013 to May 23rd 2013. 5:30 the ocean horizon picture sure reminds me of the ending of The Truman Show where Truman sails to the edge of his fake world, finds a staircase that leads to a door, and finally takes his first step outside away from the view of the rest of the human species.
Said this elsewhere but it really reminds me of the end of the movie The Truman Show. Right as Truman has stolen a sailboat and sailed across the fake world that has surrounded him his entire life while his every moment is aired for our amusement, he reaches the edge of the set and steps through a door, upon which he can no longer be seen by his lifelong fans and gets to experience reality off-camera for the first time in his life.
If he quits I will cry. Like, I hope he's happy and it quitting makes him feel better, he should do it, but that won't stop me from crying myself to sleep for a month. I'm still hoping for Zach Stone season 2
He most recently directed a one-woman theatre performance starring Kate Berlant. I saw it in LA last week. It was incredible, and had a lot of similar themes to his previous work. I suspect that after Eighth Grade and directing a few stand-up specials that he is finding more success as a director. I hope we see more of this from him, and I hope that he is finding a fulfilling way to live his creative life without needing to confront his performance anxiety.
This actually brings a whole new perspective, wow, thank you. To think he's working with Kate Berlant after lovingly talking about her work for so long is kind of heartwarming.
Inside was awesome and rather successful and took place after Eight Grade ;) I'm fairly sure he has not gone away or left anything behind. He's continuing to express himself in a myriad of ways, and sometimes that takes time :P
legit started crying when i found out about all this, bo got me through some tough times. what. made me laugh even in my darkest times, and i just love him. i hope it’s a turning point, like he’s gonna release a new project/special. love, one of bo’s hoes.
I honestly think Bo is moving on... or at least wants to. Inside, arguably his Magnum Opus (kind of) ends with "Goodbye" a song that if you think about it, kind of sounds like him retiring, as if he's saying that "So this is how it ends" and asking "Hey, here's a fun idea how 'bout I sit on the couch and I watch you next time?" and even ending with the lyrics from "look who's inside again" a song that sounds like it's about his origins as a comic, so to have a song so thematically tied to the origins of his career and leaving a place or thing behind, it makes sense that this might be it for him.
This comment kind of made me think about how irresponsible it is of Bo to make people worry like this by referencing the 17th of january date after having released a pretty dark piece like INSIDE, if anything he should make a post saying he's not dead, because he is not dead, and anyone trying to convince people he is is just trying to get attention
@@olafsomethingput the whole point of inside, or at least a part of the whole point, was that the outside objective world seems to matter very little to what he cares about. Our worries, our struggles, all of the stuff that we endure, whether it be a result of him or not, is out of his control. He will only do what he does, and he has no reason to explain it to anyone else.
All of his music is still up. Is comedy special “What” is still here. But he hasn’t shown his face since January 17. Is he dead or is he hiding? I guess we’ll never know
Has no one here thought that maybe he is making a point about us all regarding social media and obsessing over famous people? He has made it pretty clear how he feels about social media and the internet. Hes telling you to work on yourself just as he is.
bo has been doing a pattern i have noticed, in 2016 he made "make happy" then left until 2018 with "eighth grade" then "inside" came out and the outtakes, then nothing. i think he going to make something BIG and then go away for the next year or two. (maybe i just had the idea now)
That is kind of just Bo's work ethic, he's talked about how he's annoyed by artists who constantly show their faces to stay relevant (his rants back in 2016 mainly related this to late night talk shows). Bo's of the opinion that if you just keep your head down and work on a thing for a while, no matter how many "are you dead?" comments you might get (wow this fits perfectly right now, I should've put that in the video), people will just watch your stuff if it's good. And the only way to make good stuff is by spending a lot of time on a project, instead of "just throwing out seeds amd not waiting for them to grow", because that will just lead to a constant "IV-drip of mediocre content". So the fact that Bo is invisible for years in between his projects is just normal Bo behavior.
surprising no one mentioned this but the last shot after the credits in the inside outtakes... is the ocean. that's definitely linked to his new pfp, whatever it means
“Hey here’s a fun idea… how about I sit on the couch and I watch you next time?” This one lyric started me on my own TH-cam journey and inspired me to chase down my dreams. If Bo is really done, he made a major impact on my life and I can’t thank him enough… Rest well, Bo. You earned it.
It would be fucking amazing if Bo's stunt here was to announce a new project. If Bo is wanting to make a project about the metaphorical death of an artist (himself), it would be really cool as you could think of "Inside" being Bo hiding "inside" of himself and letting some demon talk for him like what happens with a multitude of his songs. So yeah this better be another project. For the waters part, I have a theory that it could be a metaphor for baptism in that people are "baptized" to wash the sins away and become a new person. For Bo, these "sins" could be his artist side, which would be really cool to explore.
Maybe the date Jan 17 2024 was the date Bo planned to start working on his next piece of work behind the scenes and we just wont know about it til it comes out?
i grew up watching bo as an 11yo in 2006 and i liked him ever since but after watching INSIDE im floored. i dont even actually have words to describe it. it was the most raw, real emotionally moving peice of art that i have ever seen in my life. i watched it a week ago and im still trying to process it.
Probably incorrect prediction: the pfp is the going to be the background of his next album "Outside," an album about going back outside after quarantine. Idk why that came to mind when you said the word "outside" while talking about the pfp and I wanted to say it on the very tiny chance I'm right
I think there's a big chance that it's a reference to being "outside" and the lyrics "you say the oceans rising like I give a shit" and "the ocean at your door", but I'm hoping there's more to it. We'll see if your prediction ends up being correct, only time will tell
"I'll always be thankful for all of his work, and I will always love the idea of him, so thank you bo, and good luck." love these last few words, exactly how I feel. edit: I love him!!! 🥺
Holy shit major sudden epiphany, I'm kinda regretful that I made this video so hastily because now I can't incorporate this into it anymore but: I was watching the final Goodbye song from INSIDE and there was this one lyric where when I heard it everything just clicked, namely the lyric "So long, goodbye, I'll see you when I see you. You can pick the street. I'll meet you on the other side." 'The other side' is a possible reference to three things. 1: Just pandemic stuff, social distancing and whatnot (cringe interpretation ngl) 2: The distance between that there will always be between performer and audience member, even when meeting in real life 3 (and this is the one I'm obsessed with right now): The symbolic phrasing of the afterlife, after death. (I genuinely can't believe I forgot about this by the way, literally made the fucking annotation on genius: => genius.com/23155664 ) I also just realized that it ties into the chicken song at the end of the INSIDE outtakes, the famous joke "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side", since it's also a wordplay on death. Before Bo plays the Chicken Song in the INSIDE outtakes he also says "I know the last song seemed like it should've been the last song, but this is actually the last song" which makes it feel like he actually really wanted to make this joke of "why did the chicken cross the road, to get to the other side" the final conclusion of all his work. Because in a way it would fit perfectly, although it would maybe be too vague. It's the most classic and possibly most famous joke ever, representing his comedy career, but also it's a reference to death, referencing his end as a comedian. The discussion around the profile pic seems to come down to a consensus that it's referencing the lyrics "The whole world at your fingertips, the ocean at your door" and "You say the ocean's rising like I give a shit, you say the whole world's ending honey it already did" as well as the final couple seconds from the INSIDE outtakes where we see ocean waves crashing on a shore (a rising tide?). But I'm starting to think more and more that it's maybe the opposite, that those lyrics and final seconds from the outtakes were a reference to whatever he's trying to convey with this ocean profile pic, like he was very quietly foreshadowing this all along. Anyway that's my take, what's yours? (Edited Feb. 1st 2024)
@@p0g. I don't really know what you mean with a timeline but a year after he released inside Bo posted an hour of outtakes from the special, and the final second of that hour is just a shot of some ocean waves.
He's just working on "Bo's Version" for his back catalog. In 2028 he'll date the star quarterback of that year's superbowl champ and announce who he endorses for president to kick off WWIII. It's so obvious
Bo should just make his leaving as an announcement and stop people from having ideas so that people thinking he’ll comeback stops stressing him out. If he is leaving at all
I hope he comes back. but then again, he really does deserve a break after what I heard he was going through. panic attacks on stage are hard to deal with and I hope he's feeling better.
I know how he does it. He is waiting for that one awakened person to have many ideas, doesn’t take the ones that person layed out.. instead he waits for awakened person to crack to the point the idea sounds more like Bo. You have to be Bo. You should really charge Bo.
he had his time back when I was like 15, not everyone needs to be famous all their lives. He's clearly struggles with his mental health, always had. His mentality isn't fit for showbusiness.
Going to see the one woman show, Kate, which Bo directed, tomorrow (Feb. 1st) at the Pasadena Playhouse, so I guess he’s doing what he said he’d do in his 30’s: theatre in a small venue.
about the death date, i'm pretty sure he mentioned in a reddit ama once that jan 17th 2024 is the estimated death of his dog - hence, why he'd kill himself
It is good to note that all of his albulms are “stand up comedy albulms”. Inside is the only one that’s a music album. Idk why but stand up comedy specials get pulled down and back up all the time
I wonder if the water picture has anything to do with the very last frame of the inside outtakes. If you wait for long enough, the last frame is waves crashing upon rocks on the beach. So he's clearly outside! but what does that shot have to do with anything? One can't help but wonder...
Very weird. I just happened to have one of his songs come up on my playlist (welcome to the internet) and wondered what Bo has been up to.. I looked up if he has any new work then saw his stuff was deleted.. thanks for the info! Keep me updated. love a huge Bo burnham fan❤
I believe that "killing himself" is a symbolic representation of the notion of cancellation or the death of an artist persona. Maybe his next project will be about change and the paradoxon of change as an artist, as a person as a physical being. I think INSIDE set changed his performane a lot in terms of how he can convey his messages. He said in 'Make Happy' that his art is always about performing and this ties really well into the absurdity of the artist persona, how from an objective view the artist is a genius, a true creator, perhaps a perfect person and if it's taken away, the question remains: what's left? The person, who used to be the artist or just an empty shell of a person. I'm just speculating but this is a very "Bo" thing to talk about and create a special where he attends his own funeral or views a reality where he ceases to exist. Also ties in to the current multiverse trend which I know he would make fun of.
all i've been thinking is that it went from "inside" the netflix comedy special to "outside" relating to the profile picture that he has on his social media platforms
i think he’s gonna chill for now but he’s definitely gonna return with more, be it directing or specials or even back on stage someday. He’s still young and creatively flourishing, to completely retire now is very unlikely. this ocean thing is either a joke or just messing about with the socials he doesn’t even use anyway very excited to see what he does next maybe a new movie, been watching since 2011 saw him live four times
I don't know what he's up to with this move, but if he's setting new stuff I always thought that instead of returning to comedy specials he could do a sort of live album with his Inside songs called "Outside", blurring the lines between comedian and musician even more. That's just a (game) theory tho, whatever he makes now I'll check it out.
I dont think bo's the one who took down the albums considering this has apparently happened before and the songs are back up, also considering the pre-inside albums (aside from make happy) are handled by comedy central
Bo always love to make us questioning about all things he did. Like... he always give us hint about something but never actually show what it's mean, and that's what makes him more attractive. What a genius man
man o man, when i tell u that my heart SANK when i found that the old albums and instagram posts were gone. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. i genuinely hope he is doing good. have looked up to him since forever, he got me thru some shit man. love him so so much. -a boe's hoe
This most likely isn't him returning. It may be an indication of his retirement as an artist, but a return would defeat the purpose of inside. The entire point of Inside has to do with artistic entrapment, like an endless cycle you can't escape, so it's probably not something he plans on continuing. Bo Burnham is a mastermind in symbolism and art, so when he creates a piece of art representing this, he means it. Either way, Bo should do what makes him happy, and if it means to "die" as a celebrity and live a simpler life instead of being miserable as an artist pressured to produce until the day he actually dies, then that's the best option.
I hope he really gonna post something new! Please bo, i wanna follow ur new contents on time😭 bcs since the first time i knew u, u neve post anything but i do love all of ur works💙
Run Bo! Run to whatever your heart needs. Vermont is here. Vermont welcomes you. even the most rich and famous are still not as popular around here as a good barista. LV and Gucci are tacky. We have a tiny comedy club upstairs of a half empty mill. We do outdoor plays and talk about our dogs. We play board games in bars. Cool is dead. Cringe is brave. Dope swimming holes. Bob Newhart that s**t
Listen… I know this may sound “entitled”but I think Bo owes it to fans to give ANY explanation of the stuff happening. Even if it’s just him saying “HEY I’m done see ya” it will just be SOMETHING

It's hard NOT to obsess about this man, His art is so incredible! Thank you for posting the video, though, it's going to weigh heavy on me today.
Bo should just make his leaving as an announcement and stop people from having ideas so that people thinking he’ll comeback stops stressing him out. If he is leaving at all
i have not stopped thinking about this since he was trending a couple weeks ago. WHERE IS HE I NEED TO KNOW 😭
prediction : new album titled Outside 🤞
I hope he comes back. but then again, he really does deserve a break after what I heard he was going through. panic attacks on stage are hard to deal with and I hope he's feeling better.
He’s working on music for the new Sesame Street movie right now.
@@michaelrowe8115 is he
this shit is gonna be called outside
I know how he does it. He is waiting for that one awakened person to have many ideas, doesn’t take the ones that person layed out.. instead he waits for awakened person to crack to the point the idea sounds more like Bo. You have to be Bo. You should really charge Bo.
I think the ocean is the last frame on the outtakes, after the chicken
he had his time back when I was like 15, not everyone needs to be famous all their lives. He's clearly struggles with his mental health, always had. His mentality isn't fit for showbusiness.
Going to see the one woman show, Kate, which Bo directed, tomorrow (Feb. 1st) at the Pasadena Playhouse, so I guess he’s doing what he said he’d do in his 30’s: theatre in a small venue.
just wait 6 years (2030) hes not going to do it early
Bo burnham:Outside
Inside. Suicide. Outside. Were all here for the 'ide.
My mom asked me today what he was up to now, and I responded idk but I hope he’s alive and well. I was just rewatching Inside.
Spotify takes down some albums every year due to licensing, but they always seem to come back eventually, thus why they're back now
THE PRE-INSIDE ALBUMS ARE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!(on spotify)
I just checked and all his videos and albums are still on TH-cam.
about the death date, i'm pretty sure he mentioned in a reddit ama once that jan 17th 2024 is the estimated death of his dog - hence, why he'd kill himself
It is good to note that all of his albulms are “stand up comedy albulms”. Inside is the only one that’s a music album. Idk why but stand up comedy specials get pulled down and back up all the time
Bo is back on TH-cam
I wonder if the water picture has anything to do with the very last frame of the inside outtakes. If you wait for long enough, the last frame is waves crashing upon rocks on the beach. So he's clearly outside! but what does that shot have to do with anything? One can't help but wonder...
*"The whole world at your fingertips the ocean at your door" OR, "You say the ocean's rising, like I give a (bleep)."*
I miss him.
Very weird. I just happened to have one of his songs come up on my playlist (welcome to the internet) and wondered what Bo has been up to.. I looked up if he has any new work then saw his stuff was deleted.. thanks for the info! Keep me updated.
love a huge Bo burnham fan❤
As a Bo Burnham geek I had a stroke when I found out all of his songs were gone
@@olafsomethingmaybe you just screen record it and even if he ever delete them later you would still have them in gallary
when I seen his pfp I thought of new horizons.
3:00 when an artist dies, his or her, work becomes priceless
all i've been thinking is that it went from "inside" the netflix comedy special to "outside" relating to the profile picture that he has on his social media platforms
i think he’s gonna chill for now but he’s definitely gonna return with more, be it directing or specials or even back on stage someday. He’s still young and creatively flourishing, to completely retire now is very unlikely. this ocean thing is either a joke or just messing about with the socials he doesn’t even use anyway
very excited to see what he does next maybe a new movie, been watching since 2011 saw him live four times
he's ok the albums are back
I think it might also be due to how he really disliked who he was half of his life ago, having been the musical version of filthy frank
I'm still think that bo isn't returning till 2040 (if he returns at all)
Except for all of his TH-cam videos. You know, his main social media account.
Bo is the opposite of Mr Beast and would easily top Mr Beast if he cared about youtube
I think that could be the reason for the ocean pfp, like he's outside now? Idk
the water looks fine at the profile pic
His albums were removed then came back on Spodify, but that does NOT comfort me
I hope hes okay, he deserves everything :(
Same (also nice pfp)
@@olafsomething Thank you !!! I love Watamote ^_^
@@AkiiVentzz She's literally me
@olafsomething RIGHT ???!?!
Dude your so real, Bo Burnham enjoyer and Tomeko kinnie ??? Best person ever
someone who he's supposedly dating hasnt commented on it so
I dont think bo's the one who took down the albums considering this has apparently happened before and the songs are back up, also considering the pre-inside albums (aside from make happy) are handled by comedy central
So i found that the playlists for What and words words words, the older tracks, were just edited an hour ago, as im writing this
Aaaaahhhhhhh????
@@olafsomething Update turns out ALL of the playlists, including inside, has been edited today.
his old songs came back! but i watched some other videos and they said he killed himself?!
@@p0g.What are they back on because Spotify still doesn't have them
@@Bgdf007 TH-cam and TH-cam Music.
Strange thing is that everything is gone from those albums
EXCEPT Channel 5 news on apple music.
Bo always love to make us questioning about all things he did. Like... he always give us hint about something but never actually show what it's mean, and that's what makes him more attractive. What a genius man
FINALLY!!!! someone is talking about this. Once he changed his pfp I knew something was up.
i have been listening to bo burnham for the last week and i'm looking foward to anything new
man o man, when i tell u that my heart SANK when i found that the old albums and instagram posts were gone. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. i genuinely hope he is doing good. have looked up to him since forever, he got me thru some shit man. love him so so much.

I mean, when I saw the profile pic, I just thought “the whole world at your fingertips, the ocean at your door”
Either way, Bo should do what makes him happy, and if it means to "die" as a celebrity and live a simpler life instead of being miserable as an artist pressured to produce until the day he actually dies, then that's the best option.
i miss him, hope he's doing good
at the end of inside outakes he put some beach footage if I remember well
I hope he really gonna post something new! Please bo, i wanna follow ur new contents on time😭 bcs since the first time i knew u, u neve post anything but i do love all of ur works💙
3:33 i think the pfp pic is just the ocean hes planning to drown and kill himself in :)
Guys this happens all the time with comedy albums, they just had to renew their albums.
4:37 the Bo-lar opposite
The ocean pic is more like a feeling
At the end of the inside outtakes there is a split second shot of a wave crashing onto a rock. This could explain the ocean profile pic
It's hard enough to find all his songs when I try to add the Twitter Song, Blowing in the Wind, Fetus, etc on the playlists
I think the ocean means he is finally outside after the inside album
Listen… I know this may sound “entitled”but I think Bo owes it to fans to give ANY explanation of the stuff happening. Even if it’s just him saying “HEY I’m done see ya” it will just be SOMETHING
