Iraq is oppressed by tourism. Most foreigners think that the war is still going on in Iraq, but it ended in 2017. We Iraqis love foreigners and welcome them, and Iraq is a country in which there are many religions, such as Yazidi, Sabian, Christian, Muslim, and many sects. Thank you, Mike, for showing Iraq in a positive light 🇮🇶❤

@M7EL2 Agreed. I'm American and I've been under the belief that places such as China, Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia etc all are too dangerous to travel to. Our government and media are to blame they want us to dislike the people to a point of basically just being pro war. It is disgusting what the men behind the scenes will do to push starting wars nobody wants to fight in. Only war worth fighting would be against the crooked liars manipulating the masses like puppets.

@@adamcheeseplease We cars love American cars because of their great engine power and also because of their tolerance to our hot climates. There are many American cars such as the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC, Mustang, Camaro, and even Corvette, and there are many Dodge Chargers, Hellcats, and Challengers.

I'm assuming you're American? If so have you ran into any issues traveling there as a tourist? I have contemplated going there quite a bit over the last year and even found an Iraqi who spoke English online and asked him quite a few questions. He painted a picture of a place eager for tourism no matter where from but it'd be interesting to hear from the perspective of an American who has first hand experience.

Hi friend, just to clarify, the house owner who asked you for money is named Abu Haider. He is a very well-known person and a major tourist attraction. He makes a living by touring people in the marshes by boat, serving them fish, and providing a place to stay since Chebaish doesn’t have any hotels. The guy who dropped you there most likely didn’t know another place or didn’t explain how the entire thing works, so it’s normal for Abu Haider to ask for money in this case. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your time in Iraq, and see you in Basra!

Mike, I've been glued to these 2 videos in Iraq. I was there 20 years ago during the Iraq war and it is so awesome to see the Iraq people so happy and living life to the fullest. The children of Iraq are so special and is one of the things I remember most because they were so happy in the midst of all the shit going on around us. Thanks for sharing these videos it put a smile on my face. maybe it was worth it.....idk. much love and thanks again.

Without you being there to document these people I hadnt even heard of is whats important, Find yourself a good translator and go back get interviews with those families to preserve their stories. You will only be intruding if you go there with bad intentions, spreading awareness can bring money and some protection on a world scale when more people know of terrible things that have happened. You're a great interviewer and traveler. I lost my interest in vloggers after it came out what bald and bankrupt was up to, but you brought that back, traveling for the love. Much credit and thanks for showing all these people true respect.

note: It's important to clarify a common misconception about Islamic practices regarding graveyards. In Islam, views on grave visitation and the veneration of graves can vary significantly between different sects. Sunni Muslims generally discourage the practice of venerating graves and emphasize that worship should be directed only towards God. On the other hand, Shia Muslims often hold a more permissive view on visiting graves, especially those of Imams and martyrs, seeing it as a way to show respect and seek blessings. However, it's crucial to understand that not all Muslims venerate graves, and practices can vary widely even within these communities.

Thank you for sharing this important story about the Marsh Arabs. However, I was struck by the absence of women in this video. While I understand that women in Iraq often face significant challenges and systemic oppression, this makes it all the more important to include their voices and perspectives in narratives like this.
Women are a vital part of any community, and their stories-whether of resilience, loss, or survival-are crucial to understanding the full picture. Leaving them out not only risks misrepresenting the community but also erases their contributions and struggles. I hope you’ll consider this in future projects to provide a richer and more accurate portraya
