It is absolutely fucking astonishing to me that youtubers do a better job of telling the stories of the world than the media and government. Well done to Thomas and Yes Theory Team. Thank you for telling this story!
“It is really really difficult for me to travel, I chose to be a tour guide so I can host people and the world can come to me” that is a woman making the best of out a terrible situation, beautiful.
The man who asked you to speak the truth, whether it’s good or bad actually made me tear up a bit, he knows the value of his country and how the days are becoming brighter, and wants you to be that person who show cases it. So wholesome
THe value of truth. Television hardly grasp this concept. I believe only smalls teams like YesTheory can provide some light on the true story of the people out there
Exactly the world need to see the reality. How evils destroyed such a beautiful country destroyed livelihood of beautiful people just for money and power. Not a single thing in their hearts for humanity and we should take them out of power at any cost or the world will face this genocide of humanity again maybe in different country. AMERICA SHOULD BE TAKEN DOWN FROM HOLDING THE WORLD POWER. they failed to serve the humanity.
I am a syrian and i know exactly what he meant by this, all youtubers who came to syria were forced by the government to say what the government and the regime want and they didn't film the real picture of the society and the real situation there!, yes theroy was influenced but in a less degree when he said that the country is recovering, this is bullshit! The economy, democracy, regime policy are going crazy to ruin and destruct what is left from syria!
The fact Ghaidaa has done nothing but smile and hope and open her soul so passionately while experiencing so much hardship is phenomenal. Its one of the most bittersweet things ive ever seen, Thank you Ghaidaa. You are truly an inspiration.
It’s funny you asked yourself, “how as I so lucky to live a normal life” and these people live in such devastation, as I watched this video, I found myself asking the same question over and over again. Thank you for your courage to travel to this ravaged country to share your experience. An experience 99.9% of us watching this video will never have the opportunity to visit.
I’m Syrian too I live in Canada Toronto I go and visit Syria every summer every time I go I discover more of its history and civilization for your new channel let’s go and revisit Syria together if you want and show the world how beautiful Syria is and the people and there generosity.
actually it opened nothing compare to what we are living here in Syria as a Syrian living in Syria just don't come no one wants to be in Syria no electricity no money no life nothing is here worth living for every day of my life i work hard just to get out of here
"People can talk, animals can't, thats why I always bring Dog food with me" this lady is the kindest person to ever cross part with and I salute you Yes Theory for showing the world her side of story
As a westerner who no longer sees Syria in the news, this video has been a stark realisation that we as westerners have never truly known Syria. And it’s because of this that we have missed out on its utter beauty, and the loving kindness of its peoples.
It actually scary how much knowledge people lack about the region (middle east) , like my classmate did not realize until last year that the Persia and the persians from history books are Iran and its people
I'm sorry, but the people of the West, especially the Americans, are as responsible for the war in the Middle East as their government. How can you keep quiet about the atrocity that has happened in the Middle East? Not being curious or completely indifferent to your own country's policies in war zones means you approve of what they are doing or you just don't care about the future of these people or this country you don't even know. How many Americans could locate Iraq or Syria on a map? How many Americans could explain the country's religious differences, its past, the reasons why there are conflicts? Rare...and yet the Wikileaks affair proved that the US got involved in this war for economic reasons only. The irony is that Julien Assange is convicted for wanting to speak the truth and Bush/Obama end their lives quietly without any problems. You are as much responsible (the western people) not because you agree, I know that the majority do not agree with their decisions, but because you do not give a damn about this region, that you keep silent and that you see this population as terrorists when they are the main victims of these religious extremists.
As a Syrian, I can assure you that there’s so much more to Syria than what’s being shown on the news.. but like I said in the video. International media won’t be like ((Breaking News)) a totally normal day in Syria. We make headlines only when something awful is happening🤷♂️
@@adonia8508 yeah and the Russian Wagner PMC Operating in Syria are there just peacekeeping as usual what great guys lol. You gonna mention them too or no?
@@milesb2111 Of course! Russia and Iran have as much or more responsibility in the Syrian conflict. I mentioned this in another post but my comment was more directed at the west, european/american type. But yes Russia is greatly responsible too. I'm not pro-assad, I hate him but I'm sick of people not caring more about the world just because they live well. We don't know what can happen tomorrow.
I'm watching a year late. The irony of the tour guides' life as she was a granddaughter of Palestinians that immigrated to Syria in 1948 when Israel took it over, and now lives in war torn Syria, unable to leave because of her mixed citizenship. And now, after October 7th, her grandparents' homeland of Palestine is now also being destroyed. How she remains positive and even a shining light in her corner of the world is awe inspiring.
@@hata6290 what happened on October 7 is that the dictatorship of Hamas, whose election was literally funded by Israel and who then cancelled all future elections, attacked and killed 1000+ Israeli citizens. After 70+ years of living in an open-air prison where even the water is toxic. After decades of being bombed. So now Israel has brutally slaughtered 50,000+ Palestinian civilians as if it's somehow justified I get what your question was implying. Check yourself
The tour guide lady is such a beautiful person. Taking cat and dog food with her because they don't have voices for themselves. I wish that all people were like her.
I agree. She has a beautiful heart. I live in Indonesia. Dogs suffer and even die here because a large portion of the people with the majority religion in this country don't appreciate dogs at all. I hope what this woman showed and shared in this video can help inspire change and make a difference for the poor animals suffering around the world
As a teacher in the Netherlands I can't wait to show this video in my social studies class. Watching this gave me goosebumps and I think it's so important for everyone to see this side of a beautiful country with even more beautiful people. And if only one student would get inspired by Ghaiida's kindness like I did then it would be worth it.
Please show the truth of syria The good part of us We didn’t treated well From so many people No one accept us some people are good but the most of them have issues with us sorry for taking your time with my feelings 🖤🖤
Being an Egyptian with Syrian origins, I cried a lot in this video... I truly wish the best for them. Truly our brothers and sisters from Syria. الله يعوضكم يا أهلنا و أحبابنا.
I am Chinese 🇨🇳 watching this video makes me understand the importance of unity!! Don't let the west continue to use the middle East as it's proxy and playground anymore. UNITE AND YOU WILL BE STRONG. DIVIDED YOU WILL BE CONQUERED!!
I am from Damascus, and I really thank you for showing our country to the world. The media always has a bad picture of Syria. I have not seen my country Syria since 2013 as I had to flee the war, and now I live in Canada. Everyone is welcoming here, and Canadian people made me feel at home again. I will go to Syria one day and contribute to rebuilding it again.
i am laying in my bed crying. i am a 20 year old farmer from canada who cries once a year and no piece of media has ever made me so emotional. touched me deeply. i will visit some day
我們不能讓西方把中國台灣香港變成下一個中東。 I am Hong Kong Chinese 🇨🇳 watching this video makes me understand Taiwan will always be part of China. We will not let the west turn Asia into the next middle East.
@PRETTYGROSSSTREETFOOD It was ISIS that did this to the Middle East. The West were trying to free them from the grip of ISIS. Taiwan does not want to be a part of China, they want to be their own country and if China attacks Taiwan, it will mean war with the West because we will defend Taiwan.
Palmyra hit the hardest. Specially knowing the story of the archeologist “Khaled Alasaad” who protected Palmyra’s treasures and refused to give their location to ISIS, which lead to his beheading. There are so many stories to be told about the braveness of the Syrian people and the heroes within them who have sacrificed their lives to protect their country. Thank you for showing the world how beautiful our country remains, all the love from Syria ❤️
I feel so stupid and naive because whenever I imagined Syria all I could visualize was destroyed buildings, crying children, hopeless eyes and nothing beyond that. But seeing such hope, optimism and happiness in the people who live there is so astonishing. It really gives you perspective. Thank you so much for this video💜
It’s all propaganda! Those teenagers where more wholesome with more loving words for a foreigner then any western culture would have,, America they would’ve have robbed and bust rap🤦♂️🤣
Im in syria for vacation rn cuz im syrian and yea there are a bunch of destroyed buildings but there is always kids outside playing soccer. There is alot of gunshots there tho like just yesterday we had two cars pull up to my grandparents house and they just sprayed there guns. Like 500 bullets prob went out of those guns. But me and my 2 cousins just ran inside cuz we were outside playing soccer ( i saw the cars ) and just ran inside and started laughing cuz it happens like every month. There food there is soooo good though like if you go there and go to a place called Divino or Chocolake, you will have the best food you have ever tasted.
This woman who is a tour guide has such a heart ❤️. Helping the animals out and having a heart. Amazing woman. Aging documentary. It brings me to tears.
I visited Syria before the war, spent one month there, driving all over the country. Been to all the places that were in the documentary, seeing them so destroyed breaks my heart, what fills me with hope is that the people are still welcoming and eager to show beauties of their country. I've never experienced more welcoming people in my life. Hope they get to rebuild their country and more visitors can experience syrian hospitality.
My mum used to take me to Syria (Damascus and Sednayah) every summer on holiday from Lebanon back in the late 90s when I was 6-8 years old and I consider myself so lucky. It was such a beautiful country with a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, humble people. I have photos from my holidays there and when I look back I tear up, thinking of what the country has become. Thank you so much for this video, for showing the world a glimpse of what it was like long ago. ❤️ I really hope the Syrian people will rebuild and overcome history.
As a Syrian myself I'm so glad you're being shown the real side of the country, no misguided propaganda, just experiencing the happy and sad sides of the culture yourself. Edit: maybe you can visit the rest of the cities next time, you'll love them.
Criticism on the country, the religion, the people or it's government does not mean it's ''propaganda''. ''information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view.'' stating facts is not propaganda.
I'm a Syrian refugee, I've been out of Syria 9 years ago and I could not go back. I want to go back and see my home land so bad but I can't, and seeing this video made me happy but sad, I'm crying. I hope one day I will be able to go back and help build it and see it grow.
Got shivers down my spine, because that is what I am missing in the western culture more and more. Just speak truth without any agenda in mind. Just honest and pure words. Loved that guy!
That woman has such a beautiful soul!! She captured me, when with everything going on internally and externally she's still a light for the world, treating those poor animals with purity and compassion , with an eternal optimism that's absolutely contagious.. I hope she finds Peace Love and tranquility.. Syrians deserve better than this
As an American I have a whole new outlook on Syria and it’s people. They are all so kind and caring even though they have gone through so much. God Bless Syria
The destruction of cities, historical relics was so senseless and heartbreaking . I weep and pray that Syria will recover and flourish again. The indomitable spirit of the people will lead the way! As always top notch video
as someone who is currently living in syria as a british/syrian citizen watching my favourite channel visit my country and places i see on a daily bases be shown in such a beautiful way makes me feel special i hope the best for syria thank you yes theory 💞
So glad that you humanize these areas of the world, all too often western culture sees a country in war and just assumes the worst. Sharing stories and their humanity allows for more bridges to be built and less stigma across culture. Something we dearly need at this point in time.
When we talk about Palmyra, we have to talk about Khaled al-Asaad, an archaeologist and the head of antiquities at Palmyra. He helped evacuate the city and helped hide the artifacts. Unfortunately he was captured by Daesh, tortured to disclose the location of the artifacts - which he didn't do - and publicly beheaded. He is the protector of Palmyra and part of the reason, why there's still some left. Bless his soul, may he find peace and watch over Palmyra from where he is now.
I wounder how much Isis desstroyed compared to what Alassad the dictator mafia smuggled and sold out of the countr, cuz they thik they own all the country , its resources and its ruins , now claim that I mean that Isis are good , but for sure the government is worse and did much damage and they are the caause of the whole problems
Omg ,best documentary I have seen in the past few years😭😭😭👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻what a beautiful country ,amazing and brave people syrians are ❤❤❤would love to visit your country some day ,you deserve better guys and I hope your country will be built back to what it was before ,love to all syrians from Spain🇪🇸🇪🇸
I remember visiting Syria with my mother and brother i think in 2004 and it was soooo beautiful and very peaceful, Muslims and Christians were living together and it was a destination for a relaxing vacation, inshallah Syria will heal up and become like what it used to be and better
I remember when yes theory just started out as 3 college dudes doing random challenges to get out of thier comfort zone, now they'te going to the most uncharted territories on the planet and spreading a worldwide movement to help others that moves millions. So inspirational it brought me to tears. Amazing job to the yes fam
This documentary should be shown at United Nations hearings instead of some non-relevant speakers like royals. A documentary recorded from a non-political position, just pure humanity. I have seen so many videos in my life. Have been fortunate to travel around the world, saw conflicted places too, and got a totally different experience than the media tried to put in my mind. @Yes Theory family, what you did with this video recording is absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for that. Thank you for opening eyes and minds, Thank you for showing real superhumans.
Bold of you to assume that people in united nations need to watch this. They know more than we do, they just keep their silence for money and benefits.
Absolutely beautiful. I suddenly have the urge to travel there and hug everyone. I was touched like I haven't been in a long time. You're blessed to have met Ghaidaa, who just seems like a ray of sunshine.
As a syrian still living in syria .. you made me cry.. multiple times tbh .. you brought back all the memories and gave me hope that this country one day might be able to recover.. thank you so much and hope in your next visit you'll find that syria is a better place even more than before the war 🖤 Edit : omg thanks for the 101 likes 🥹🖤
@Nikil Cygnet It's mostly gone, there's still bombing that happens randomly but not a daily thing. I went there last year for 20 days and only heard a bomb on my last day, the people I was with said it was Israel bombing a military base so there's no worries only the Syrian government bombed the people.
I have to be honest, I’m American and my first thought when I came across this documentary was “ never in a million years would I go to Syria I would be scared to death” after watching this I feel absolutely ashamed and heartbroken to have thought that way. It was incredibly eye opening and heartwarming to see how welcoming they were After everything that Syria and it’s beautiful people have endured.
Never believe what the mainstream media say about other countries. They love to make the united states citizens fear of the world.. for we don't connect with people outside of the united states and see the world
just so you know.. the youtuber is not showing everything in the video, the country is dangerous, you're just seeing the "happy and safe side" in this video, i'm speaking of experience
I am from Iraq living in Sweden, but I have travelled to Syria when I was young before the war started and I can say Syria was so beautiful. I remember going on a road trip to different cities in Syria with my family and relatives. We travelled in a van and saw so many things, the nature, waterfalls straight out of a disney story and Bedouins (people living in the deserts). Although my memory is not clear from then because it was about 12 years ago I remember so clearly the time we went to an outdoor restaurant around mountains and greenery. It was so beautiful words cannot describe it, it had a river going through the restaurant and the comfort I felt there was unreal. There was an old man with a tabla (a kind of drum) and all the kids were singing with him and having fun. Syria was full of liveliness and laughter. I cried so many times while watching this, it felt personal even though I am from Iraq and not Syria. It breaks my heart how the media view us from the middle east, but I hope more people will see this side of Syria and the whole middle east. Behind every war, trashy governments and politicians we are still humans just like everyone on this planet, we are just people trying to live and exist. Aside from that like said in the video, we from the middle east have hope for a brighter and better future. I hope one day I am able to contribute to rebuilding the middle east for its people, traditions and culture. Thank you so much Yes Theory for showing a side of the middle east many people have not seen, you are making a much needed change by doing this.
Holy shit lol like u wouldnt say the same thing? Also most people aren’t interested in fighting , just trying to survive or flee, sometimes they can’t. Don’t forget about the crusades and the other massive amounts of suffering the western world has caused
One of my professors, who used to travel extensively and who traveled to Syria and many other Arab and non Arab countries, used to tell us how beautiful Syria and its people were and how rare it was to meet people with as much kindness, hospitality and courage as Syrians. I'm sure Syria will go back to being as peaceful as it used to. Love from Tunisia
Is there any doubt that compared to Who One Shares A Nation/Nationality With, it is negligible Who One Marries/Who Is One's Spouse (assuming that Mankind is an order of units which [when mentally competent in a world where any of them are UNDERSTOOD TO BE free] believe that they exist within their own lifespans)?
Yeah and meanwhile actual terrorist countries like Pakistan gets hundreds of billions of dollars in relieve package from UN (USA) every year. Stop relying on USA for your development. Be like China and stay self reliant.
Yea my Middle Eastern Studies professor also traveled there almost every year from the early '00s all the way up to a year before the Arab Spring happened. Syria was also one of his favorite countries to visit. He said the people were/are so welcoming and are very proud of their rich culture. They way he described how beautiful cities like Raqqa and Damascus were and seeing how they're basically in ruins today makes me sad.
My parents are from Syria and immigrated to the US in the 80s. I used to spend every summer in Aleppo, and my last trip was 2010, one year before the war. Seeing some of these sites broke my heart. The people of Syria are so resilient. My mom and dad recently went to Aleppo back in May, and they had a great time. I’m itching to go visit.
U should go back and take a good look before your good friend terrorist America emptied all the resources in the country...and they're doing it as we speak ;)
As an American that has only heard about Syria through the countless war-related stories in the news, thank you for providing a brand new perspective on the lives in a genuine light. The people are beautiful and I can only hope I have a chance to visit one day.
America has a lot of propagandas about countries that don't bow down to politics of USA. Inciting the hatred of nations for their own benefits (war profits) in the name of democracy
So many feelings are collapsing inside me no words could describe them I hope all the best for Syria, Syrians deserve a lot hope they could build their land back and see them happy in there
I'm from the US (I'm 41) and what I saw on the news and have been fed to believe is that Syria is a bad place. Seeing this documentary of your visit brought me to tears. The people there have the largest hearts and were so excited to see you. They truly are some amazing people. We could learn a lot from them. Much love.
Is not about good or bad. There are both of it at the same time. In Syria there was a Regime and still is, is just that there are many Innocent People which got caught in between. People still support Assad tho. The video didn't talk about the political problems, but there are a lot of them.
Except if you're a homosexual, atheist, jew (or any other religion), white, Western or a woman. Not to mention a dictator, chemical attacks, imprisonment of political opponents or even journalists. Yeah it's a bad place.
@@bazingapuzza it's because they have to, i lived there most of my life and thank God I got out, you do not have freedom of speech there, if you don't say what they want you to, you get punished. And if you are in another part of a country that is controlled by another power, you also have to agree with them otherwise you get punished. Most of the people are innocent, but others are forced to be bad, and some are just bad.
My grandmother is syrian and I always dreamt of her showing me around damascus as soon as the war ended. Sadly, she died a few months ago, and I was never able to experience Syria with her. I hope that soon I can go, and I can honor her and find that missing part of myself. Thank you for showing me a little bit of the place I'd only ever seen in my dreams.

As a Syrian who has not been back to Syria in over a decade, this was an emotional rollercoaster and arguably the best TH-cam video I have ever seen. It shares some of the most important stories on the planet, shedding light on the experiences of those who have suffered possibly the worst injustices of this generation. I’m sure every Syrian that yearns to go back will have the emotional rollercoaster I had watching this, but humanity in general will benefit tremendously from this as well. Bravo.
Ghaiida has so much love and empathy for every living creature even with everything she went trough, her explanation why she feeds stray animals is so touching
I cried multiple times throughout this video, I grew up in Al Zabadani Syria but had to leave with my family when I was ten, we managed to become refugees in Canada and secure a safe and comfortable life, now as a twenty year old adult watching this video of my childhood home brought tears to my eyes. Knowing that I will never return to the same Syria that I so desperately miss and adore and that it will take decades to repair the physical damages and eons to heal the emotional damage breaks my heart, with that being said I know that Syrians are strong people and they will persevere and they will build an even bigger and better Syria for future generations to come.
and your comment made me cry another time. Im from New Zealand and through my life i've met multiple people from Syria, this video brought it alot more to light for me and gave me a whole new understanding and perspective. much love

i’m from syria myself and when i saw this video, i was literally speechless. it’s so amazing seeing that you put everything into this video. it made so happy to see other people learning about my country as well. syria has been through so much over the years, but it’s still one of the most beautiful countries out there. everyone always saw the ugly side of syria, but you were able to catch all its beauty in this video. thank you so much for this. you truly don’t know how much it means to us syrians.
There’s a pain in Ghaidaa’s voice that is just indescribable, and the way she is bubbly and positive… I don’t think I’ve ever in my life experienced someone so special. I can’t explain it. As you said Thomas, she is a superhero. Thomas, your story telling is spectacular. The way you show us these places- it’s exactly what I wanted to do when I went to study but it’s something I haven’t yet been able to do. These videos just make that fire burn even brighter to go and do.
literally a week ago I started wondering and asking people around me : "How is Syria doing now?". Also started hearing stories of Syrians who wanted to get back.
The amount of time, planning, effort, and determination to just fly down and arrive in Syria is beyond admirable on its own. But to produce a masterpiece. To capture so many emotions, moments, and history that the world is yet to even discover. To share stories of human beings who are living in pain, heart ache, yet have so much patience, so much positivity and will power to spread love to a stranger that is an outcast in a country that has lost everything. The strangers still choose to share their love, their time, their food. This documentary that is so well put together, is the epitome that anyone in the world that has a roof above their heads, electricity and a stable job should count their blessings on their hands and to think twice before complaining about non-sense, and to thank god and to be grateful for every day you wake up to see your family, neighbours and the echoes of children running and playing in the schools down your road. God bless every one of you in the video shared and to who ever is reading. Tell your family you love them. Smile at all the simple things in life that we are so blessed to witness. Be grateful for all the memories we have the privilege to create in countries who give you the opportunity too.
Wow!! I have never been so moved by a documentary , I can’t believe I’m only seeing this now , I actually cried abit when I saw that random strangers were coming up and praying for you, you would NEVER SEE that in a western country , with all the bullshit propaganda I’ve been fed my whole life I looked at these people differently , and after seeing this they are just like any normal Person!!! and for all what they’ve been through to still find love in their heart for a stranger legit changed me , I am grateful for you and your videos because it just shows how many amazing people in these war torn countrys because of western backings , I feel for the innocent people caught in these attacks and only wish the best for the innocent Palestinian people going through war today.
I am crying the entire time. It breaks my heart to see people suffering from a useless war. Thank you for your bravery in coming to Syria and letting us see the beauty of the country, the smile in peoples faces, the aftermath and for sharing their stories.

I lived in Syria before the war. I stood in some of the places shown in this video. I can not describe the state of emotions I am in right now. Always thought I would go back some day, but she's right; the burden of the ghosts would be too much to bear.

One of the saddest and most poignant documentaries I've ever seen. I watched this intently, hoping beyond all hope that by some stroke of chance I might see my friend in the background somewhere, my best friend Hadeel Al Ali, whom I have not heard from since she returned to Syria from America and the Arab Spring began. I. don't know if she went underground, but she grew up in Latakia, and since she returned to Syria, she disappeared from facebook and none of our mutual friends have heard from her. My heart breaks for her country, and I pray that she is ok. She hasn't been heard from for over ten years now.
I'm from lattakia and I can tell you everyone here is somehow has a mutual friend with everyone since the city is kinda of small ,if you want you can contact me on FB and I might help
I know the feeling of hoping hopelessly to just catch a glimpse of someone you miss. I hope you're able to make contact. The person who commented before me seemed to be willing to try and help you do that, so maybe make that connection and see. The kindness of people can be beautiful.
As a syrian, thank you for this video. It brought me to tears. Thank you for showing what our country has truly experienced while also showing its resilience and the goodness of its people. It warms my heart knowing that the media hasn't influenced everyone's perception on our country and that some are able to see it the way we do. This video was beautifully executed and you captured it all!
As a Syrian, I cried while watching this video 😭 So many memories from my home city Damascus. it is heartbreaking to see the situation my country is in now. We feel unwelcome wherever we go. So sad to be unwanted and it's even more devastating to see that over 80% of your country has turned into rubble!
Where've you gone? I am curious in general don't worry I am not one of that dumb people who'd say go back to your country. I obviously understand and support turkish goverment to accept war victims. I wish they were controlling immigrant situation but this is not related to your situation at all.
I hope your country will raise back from the ruble and be built back, and really hope those bad people that wanted to see all destruction will stay outside and never come back. Blessed be your country and your people. This documentary made me laugh and teared my eyes as well, amazed and worried in the same time, thank you good people, there is hope for you.

They may have destroyed their cities, they may have destroyed their monuments. But they could not destroy their will, their souls, their culture, or their humanity. I’m glad I got to live vicariously through this video and I thank you for making this possible, you have gained a new subscriber.
Well if they destroyed the historical sites they at minimum harmed their historical heritage too and without the monuments and the pieces of what existed before now being a pile of rubbish, we can't study it anymore that easily and understand the old's people histories.
Ghaidaa is such an inspiration! Her kindness for the animals made me realize how important the small things in life can really be. This documentary is amazing - beyond amazing!
Ghaidaa is such a beautiful human being inside out with the prettiest smile. I love how she always carries food for stray animals ❤Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and inspiring story :)
Just one word "RESPECT" Basically for Thomas to take the courage to go there and Yes Theory to show this side of the world that even the media doesn't want too. Lots of love & respect to all my brothers and sisters in Syria From Bahrain & India
Western mainstream media doesn't want to; cause that'd mean accepting d failure of their decades long propaganda against Assad govt & wrt 2 d realities of d civil war, where their govts/allies destabilized Syria & directly supported Jihadi Extremists that constituted d majority of rebels...in order 2 achieve regime change in Syria & install a puppet govt friendly 2 US/Saudi.
I can’t believe this video is 46 minutes!!!! I’m truly astonished. It felt like 15 minutes Amazing documentary. The deep sorrow I feel for Syria has grown tenfold Thank you Yes theory for another amazing video. You have outdone yourselves
If this youtuber didn't not take a permission from the dictatorship regime, he wouldn't been able to enter the country, thats why he never mentioned the regime’s crimes against its people when they demanded freedom. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scum on TH-cam and social media who promote visiting the country that was destroyed because of the mafia regime who killed and tortured people in prisons (search about Qaisar photos on internet). This regime killed journalists were trying to tell the true story of the Syrians, and bombed cities with chemical weapons, and all this is documented on the Internet, and everyone knows that the problem of the Syrians is not only ISIS or al-Qaeda because the leaders of these terrorist groups were in Syrian prisons and they were released to give a wrong image about the Syrian revolution. The problem of the Syrians is the head of the mafia who inherited power from his father And he wants to pass it to his mentally handicapped son. I just wonder how this youtuber would sleep after this disgraceful video he made to polish the image of the regime and promote coming to a country that even its people do not want to return to as long as the asshole Assad who murdered his own people is still in power! The girl who accompanied him on the trip said about the place which the protests against the dictator's regime started: "From here the problems started." but she didn't say that there were peaceful protesters there and were faced by guns.. she doesn't want to go back to her neighbourhood because she would remember the frightening thing that happened there, and she did not mention that Bashar al-Assad besieged her neighbourhood and starved civilians because they rose up against his oppression. You can search on internet about "the Siege of Yarmouk camp" Bashar Assad is the one whom destroyed the city of Palmyra and stole its antiquities in order to take revenge on the city because its people rose up against his oppression, so he sent ISIS and cooperated with them to loot the antiquities, and all of this is documented on the Internet. The Syrian regime is the one who bombed schools and destroyed hospitals over children heads in Homs and all the Syrian cities with the support of Iran, Hezbollah and Russia, but unfortunately all these information were ignored in this cheap video!! I am from Daraa, the last city that was visited in this video “Busra” I'm a former detainee and now I live in Europe. I witnessed the massacres that the regime committed in my city against my people before ISIS was existed.. and I will never return to Syria before Bashar al-Assad is killed. like me, there are 12 millions of Syrians refugees all over the world. To those who believed these kind of videos and started thinking to visit this country before the fall of the ruling mafia.. "you are considered as supporters of the mafia, and the Syrians will never ever forgive you".
I'm Syrian and this video was a journey , ups and downs , Thank you for showing the true Syria, the good and the bad ,Syrians are kind and generous people with great hospitality we don't hate we don't shy from the truth , we accept the past and move forward , and we love to tell you our story .
Such a beautiful country with lovely people. As a Ukrainian I could never imagine before that I would be able to relate to the heartbreak of war and destruction. I wish only the best to the people of Syria 💔
War or constant war make good people. It’s not fair or right for them to live like that but the upside is you’ll meet some of the greatest people. Not entitled westerners who need a reality check. People who been through the worst, likely worse than most of us. Even the worst or crimes in the west is small compared to what these people had to face and I respect them a lot.
My home 🥹🥲 I haven’t been in 12 years because of the the war. it’s very nice and heart warming to see you visit. Thank you for showing the world the true side of Syria ❤
Maybe you can answer this question, but the tour guide lady why can't she just apply for new citizenship or green card for Syria or Pakistan? Surely it probably can done.
I’m Canadian born and raised however my parents were born and raised in Syria. Back in 2006 my parents decided to take a trip to Syria to show me the country and our culture before the war. Let me tell you… it was so so incredibly beautiful and the people are just so humble and amazing. I will forever be grateful to have gone and seen Syria before such destruction
@@nancyisaac4851 Of course, we are strong, God has given us many good things, patience, natural resources, a beautiful history, and many good things. Syria is improving, but this takes some time, so we have to be patient and defend this beautiful country both materially and morally.
I started crying. This documentary is beautifully made. The tour guide is beautiful inside and out, such a pure soul. All these people have kind hearts
I completely agree, this is so touching in many ways...from the joy on the faces of the children, to the hope of the elders ... incomprehensible the human sometimes
As a 20 year old Palestinian who’s lived the past 16 years in Syria, I can say I’ve benefited a whole lot from this well-made documentary. Even though the information laid in this video is nothing new to an insider like myself, but in some way it made me face my demons and process all the bottled up emotions/trauma that had built up over the last 12 years. As we’ve always run away from our dark realities and tried to distract ourselves by any means possible. Growing up in a war-torn country and pushing through the challenges which the war presented was never easy, and is forever traumatic. But at least it’s forced us to grow a thick thick skin that will help us dramatically throughout our futures(Ghaidaa is a great example for this). Watching this video made me so proud of myself and of our people for having such a positive spirit, even after all that we’ve been through. Really appreciate the work Yes Theory :) keep it up!
Bashar, please explain to me why Gaiida can not get a passport. I always was under the impression, that Jordan issued passports to Palestinians. I would think that she should be able to get either a Palestinian Passport, a Jordanian passport. Or that the Syrian Government could issue her a travel document. I would like to help this lovely young woman with such passion. Get a passport of some kind and fulfill her dream of travel.
@@michaelreid8857 So what happened after we got kicked out of our land in 1948 is that millions of Palestinians were scattered all over the Middle East(mostly Jordan, Syria and Lebanon), and a handful stayed in Palestine. Now legally and practically Palestinians are treated differently as opposed to the country they refuge in. So Palestinians living under the Palestinian State in Gaza and the West Bank(the people who never left Palestine) can get a Palestinian passport, which is still a weak passport. However we as refugees can’t go back and enter Palestine(even the free lands) since we’re considered a “threat” by Israeli forces who still forcefully control the borders. So at the end of the day refugees like Ghaidaa and myself are considered stateless, and are limited to whatever passport or legal work the countries we live in offer us. In the case of Syria we’re offered a passport that can only get us to a handful of countries around the world, since the Syrian passport itself is one of the weakest passports in the world… and the one issued to Palestinians is even slightly worse. So that’s what Ghaidaa spoke of in the video.
I travel to Syria recently and it’s not as media portrayed. We were welcomed warmly. The amount of human history found in Syria is indescribably amazing. It touches your deepest feelings. You can’t ask for more friendly welcome form their citizens. It’s worthy to visit without doubt.
I had a student from Syria. She had recently moved to Malaysia back then, while the war was still on. She always had this sad face, and was a girl of few words. I knew she missed her home and life terribly. Whenever I looked at her, I could only imagine her feelings and prayed for her silently.
I used to live in Syria until I was 11 years old. I have only seen a small amount of destruction in my eyes and I have tried to forget everything about it. But this documentary made me cry my heart out and the part where Thomas said that, why do we have so much luck to live in another part of the world and have nice lives and keep complaining about them mad me remember my cousin who ist still living there and he ist also my age. This made me so emotional. I hope the whole world sees this video and realize that the people who still live there didn't deserve what ist happening to them and I hope one day everybody can visit my beautiful country and see it for them selves.
My best friend lives in Damascus. Known him for a lil over a year now. He doesnt want to be there anymore, but stuck. keeps telling me to not worry HA. I'm glad you got out soon after it started. You are blessed 🤞. Don't let what you saw in the past define your future, let it strengthen each step you take forward.
I'm half Syrian and I grew up in syria, I left in 2005 when I was 17, the best and happiest memories in my mind are from my home country Syria, it was a happy peaceful place where we felt like a big family, we all came together friends, family, neighbours, you never had to worry about your safety or security, no one had to worry about food as it was dirt cheap, my mother is Hungarian and a christian, everyone treated her with love and respect, she never wanted to leave syria as she felt like home, the last time I visited syria was in 2010 before the war and now seeing these images of distruction it broke my heart, I want to visit my home country but I am terrified of what I will see, it will destroy all the happy memories I have from my youth plus knowing that all of my friends I kept in touch with have left the country....I don't think it will ever be the same and I am heartbroken for the people of syria because they are the most kind and generous people I have ever knew
Sometimes there are no words;but my heart goes out to all of you that have suffered and pray for peace and restoration to all and for Syria. When I saw this video I literally cried. Such a wonderful land and it's beautiful people. I think the angels cry for Syria.
Every time Ghaidaa spoke and smiled with pure joy, I got goosebumps. I recognized a pure soul that has quite possibly been through the storm yet her heart remained soft and humble better yet it is oozing kindness and the need to give back and help others.
I have so much respect and admiration for the female tour guide. She touched my heart multiple times in this video. Most people think no matter what happens in life they can always go home again or if something terrible happens at home then you’re able to leave. She is unable to yet she is still such a kind, generous person she carries around dog and cat food so that they are not hungry. I hope and pray this woman has the best most incredible future. I hope this place is war free and able to recover and prosper.
“As I tried to makes sense of that, I came to terms with the fact that none of these people want my guilt” - that was so powerful to hear. I struggle with the same thoughts often and while they also make me want to act and help, it’s true that feeling guilt for something we had no control over is meaningless to them. I had no more choice of where and when I was born than people in Syria did. I will try to keep this in mind.
i dont know its good to feel guilt if it makes you act. people from the west should put more pressure on their politicians to stop sponsoring these wars
I cried multiple times throughout. How moving. Thank you for this. Beautiful. Also, my husband is from aleppo, i watch alot of videos on syria since I've never been there in an effort to see/ understand his culture etc. And THIS is BY far the most amazing video/ mini doc. Ive ever seen. Amazzzzing job. Thank you.🙏. (As a side note, we eat that food every weekend we visit my in laws lol)
As a German who got to know a lot of Syrian refugees and who considers one Palestinian-Syrian family from Damascus as my extended family, I could never imagine the destruction and suffering this beautiful country and it's people lived through. All the Syrians I know love to tell me of their culture people and of the beauty of their homeland but they never really talk about the war and about how they fled the country. I know a few basic facts of course but I never really had the courage to ask them about their real experiences and their feelings. This video opened my eyes and showed me again how stron these people are. It hurts my heart to see the countries in shambles but I have faith and hope that Syria can heal in the future and that people can rebuild their homes.
Those faces on those kdis as they found out you were a foreigner and the way they said i love you melted my heart. They are kinds inncoent souls who were born and raised in a war torn country yet their child like nature and kindness and curiosity still persists.
@43:02 her words wow she made me cry I hope one day they will be able to see what they are waiting for may God bless the people of Syria what a great and welcoming people. Will definitely visit this country one day ❤ from Eritrea 🇪🇷

I'm watching a year late. The irony of the tour guides' life as she was a granddaughter of Palestinians that immigrated to Syria in 1948 when Israel took it over, and now lives in war torn Syria, unable to leave because of her mixed citizenship. And now, after October 7th, her grandparents' homeland of Palestine is now also being destroyed. How she remains positive and even a shining light in her corner of the world is awe inspiring.
wait what happened on october 7??
@@hata6290Palestinians paraded a half naked dead young woman they kidnapped from a festival in gaza city😒
So now Israel has brutally slaughtered 50,000+ Palestinian civilians as if it's somehow justified

When we talk about Palmyra, we have to talk about Khaled al-Asaad, an archaeologist and the head of antiquities at Palmyra. He helped evacuate the city and helped hide the artifacts.

Is there any doubt that compared to Who One Shares A Nation/Nationality With, it is negligible Who One Marries/Who Is One's Spouse (assuming that Mankind is an order of units which [when mentally competent in a world where any of them are UNDERSTOOD TO BE free] believe that they exist within their own lifespans)?
when was syria peaceful?

To share stories of human beings who are living in pain, heart ache, yet have so much patience, so much positivity and will power to spread love to a stranger that is an outcast in a country that has lost everything. The strangers still choose to share their love, their time, their food. I can’t believe this video is 46 minutes!!!! I’m truly astonished. It felt like 15 minutes
Amazing documentary. The deep sorrow I feel for Syria has grown tenfold
Thank you Yes theory for another amazing video. You have outdone yourselves
Wow I just finished watching and didn't realise it went for so long, it really did only feel like 15 minutes. Made so beautifully
You can search on internet about "the Siege of Yarmouk camp"
Bashar Assad is the one whom destroyed the city of Palmyra and stole its antiquities in order to take revenge on the city because its people rose up against his oppression, so he sent ISIS and cooperated with them to loot the antiquities, and all of this is documented on the Internet.
Im not the only one lol
“This is Syria” was probably one of the most heartbreaking things I heard in this. The amount of trauma in that one sentence.
I know right.. So heartbreaking.
Time stamp
thanks to the tyrant dictator who created this
yeah .. even if ..theyre still trying to manage to be contented and building moved forward their life..

Even the worst or crimes in the west is small compared to what these people had to face and I respect them a lot.
you support neo nazis in your government
😢😢
Much strength! 🇺🇦🙏🏼
Thank you for saying that. Us Syrians know your pain too well and we wish you peace as well ❤️
My home 🥹🥲 I haven’t been in 12 years because of the the war. it’s very nice and heart warming to see you visit. Thank you for showing the world the true side of Syria ❤
same since 2009
My home too…❤🥺🙌🏻
Where is your hijab
Maybe you can answer this question, but the tour guide lady why can't she just apply for new citizenship or green card for Syria or Pakistan? Surely it probably can done.
No war No Biden
I’m Canadian born and raised however my parents were born and raised in Syria. Back in 2006 my parents decided to take a trip to Syria to show me the country and our culture before the war. Let me tell you… it was so so incredibly beautiful and the people are just so humble and amazing. I will forever be grateful to have gone and seen Syria before such destruction
That's unbelievable to what happened to Syria all... Syrians must fight against radical muslims ideology
Im also Syrian ❤️🇸🇾
@@i890ola that’s awesome! It’s unfortunate what happened to our country but we shall all stick together and hope that things get better!
@@nancyisaac4851 Of course, we are strong, God has given us many good things, patience, natural resources, a beautiful history, and many good things.
Syria is improving, but this takes some time, so we have to be patient and defend this beautiful country both materially and morally.
What a beautiful country with such beautiful people... Syria deserves peace.
thank you I wish you a happy life
I started crying.
Really appreciate the work Yes Theory :)
keep it up!
Prayer for your Healing 🙏🏻❤️
Bashar, please explain to me why Gaiida can not get a passport.
I always was under the impression, that Jordan issued passports to Palestinians.
I would think that she should be able to get either a Palestinian Passport, a Jordanian passport. Or that the Syrian Government could issue her a travel document.
I would like to help this lovely young woman with such passion. Get a passport of some kind and fulfill her dream of travel.
Yes
@@malddee2362 Really appreciated ❤️☺️
It’s worthy to visit without doubt.
does traveling to syria require a pre-entry visa ??
The medias only goal is divide and conquer and spread fear. People are easier to control when you place them in a constant state of fear and distrust.
Has Syria ever been portrayed as unwelcoming? Rhetorical question, no it hasn't.
@Whitney Love nope
@@MrTVintro just ask your parents or friends if its a good idea to go visit
InshAllah Ameen
My best friend lives in Damascus. Known him for a lil over a year now. He doesnt want to be there anymore, but stuck. keeps telling me to not worry HA.
I'm glad you got out soon after it started. You are blessed 🤞. Don't let what you saw in the past define your future, let it strengthen each step you take forward.

I hope you can return to your country and relieve us from the burden of taking care of you :)
I hope that you can return some day without war. Let's pray for better days ♥️

Every time Ghaidaa spoke and smiled with pure joy, I got goosebumps. I recognized a pure soul that has quite possibly been through the storm yet her heart remained soft and humble better yet it is oozing kindness and the need to give back and help others.
Indeed, a country full of good and kind people.
Thanks for the video and for caring.
The families there deserve all our support
Ghaidaa is honestly the sweetest person ever. The fact she carries food around for stray dogs and cats just touched my heart
Can't agree more with you! Such a beautiful soul she have.
It's not entirely. their economy is bottoming out faster then the sun sets. 😰
I feel like only people who feel the guilt here say this. I want ___ to feel guilt. I’ve been angry. You’re self soothing again
I feel this way about Gaza, so hearing this was comforting to me.
i dont know its good to feel guilt if it makes you act. people from the west should put more pressure on their politicians to stop sponsoring these wars
@@malfoysass : You are correct. This was a USA sponsored war. The world will have peace when USA is contained.

Schön geschrieben, mein Freund
They will rebuilt/recover as long as US/West/Saudi don't start destabilizing Syria again through Jihadi extremists!

you can thank the U.S government for that. stop pretending like you dont know how caused it.
@@michalbroz3429 Well its what happens when another country controls another country’s government installs puppets government officials and provoke countries that they hope/knowingly could retaliate.
