I love the jeapardy of using barbless hooks, it gives the fish a fighting chance of escaping, whilst improving your fish playing skills, as you learn to better play a hooked fish on the retrieval

Well done mate, i bought the rapala trout pack after watching you use them last year, now ive only used them on rainbows and they have been deadly for them, i do intend on trying for brownies and sea trout in my river.
A very nice river, it looks very much like the rivers I fish in my area. Spinning is not allowed on ours until the 1st august, and I am looking forward to it as it can be so productive.

Thanks mate! Good effort, how big was the trout? I'd reccomend using a 10lb ish 8 strand braid with an 8-12lb fluorocarbon leader depending on how snaggy it is where you're fishing. I use the simplest knot, not quite sure what it's even called sorry!

And it was a 2lb wild brownie, no giant but for the small stream he was in it was amazing, cheers for the advice on the line, I'm heading up to a great section of river on holidays next week so I should break my PB again

Rapala does test lures before sell. When you take one of two hooks out, you change the way they work n hook fish.

Know how you feel buddy...bought r.n.r 180 for holiday in med....try it out for perch n bad hook up ratio 2 from 10
Funnily enough I’ve found it to be a great rod for perch! Not so much pike though. Did you catch anything in the med?
