Outer Wilds - Shuttle launch into Sun Station.

- Couldn't find a video of someone "landing" this, so why not. I do not believe it is possible to initiate landing sequence onto Sun Station, so bailing inside is the nearest alternative.
The launch window used is around 6:06 of in-game time using the Ember Twin shuttle, I used a setup with a corner inside the shuttle and the signalscope to get a more accurate launch timing. The first pass will miss, second will be at near-perfect speed to make the jump, still very difficult.
The timing window is narrow, missing it will leave you ahead or behind the Sun Station, or if you miss by a lot, in the Sun itself. My trajectory wasn't optimal, I think it may be possible to just curve inside if everything is perfect without needing to adjust with the jetpack quite as much, but I'm satisfied enough with this one.
Played on PS4.
new players doing everything in their power to avoid learning about the ash twin warp:
I didn't come here to get called out.
You know damn well why noone waits for that.
I somehow forgot or maybe just overlooked that ash twin warp exists lmao
I learned consistent hot shots because i forgot the ash twin warp towers existed
its fun this way.....
Taking your ship there and being able to jump from the ship to the sun station merits an achievement, so it's understandable why people would do it that way.
This way is just...Sadistic, almost.
Some poor soul is going to search "How do you get to the Sun Station in Outer Wilds??" and come across this video thinking it's the solution.
Oh god please no. The timing on this has to be perfect or you'll easily miss. Not even to mention the flying skills this takes once out of the shuttle.
That's why it is recommended to play the game completely blind to find the solution yourself
Pye would be losing her mind if she saw this happen
Who the hell is Pye
@@bobobsen one of the nomai
@@bobobsenMan did u even play Outer wilds ?
@Jean-Malabar Not everyone remembers the individual characters, for me they kinda blended together because they're all only represented through text (and I'm more interested in what they're talking about)
@@Jean-Malabar tbh there's literally no one paying attention to who's saying what.
Found Pye's youtube account.
"Mom, can we have Kerbal Space Program?"
"We have Kerbal Space Program at home"
Kerbal Space Program at home:
In Outer Wilds the training wheels are off, no trajectory lines, wildly amplified gravitational scales, and limited thrust capabilities make this game much harder than KSP IMO.
@@c4sualcycl0ps48 Yeah another complication is that: apparently only the sun has a gravitational force that scales with 1/r^2, all the planets and the comet have a gravitational force with a linear dependance on distance.
@@iveharzing really? That’s wild!
@@c4sualcycl0ps48 outer, too!
@@c4sualcycl0ps48for me it’s way easier
Amazing flight, you must have spent 10 hours doing math.. or 10 hours figuring it out the deadly way
Heh, it's definitely closer to the latter than the former. There aren't that many viable launch windows to the near orbit of the Sun (unless you go for something fancy involving the other planets), basically you have a single launch window per rotation of the Ember Twin, so it was just a matter of seeing which one of those made the most sense :)
Glad you liked the flight! Outer Wilds is an amazing game.
@@ZX497you are KSP junky aren’t you?
Nomai: we elaborated a complex warp system based on the black hole
Hearthian: SPACE PARKOUR!!!
He really does love computing a good low stellar orbit shuttle trajectory

"Achievement unlocked: True Hotshot"
Imagine if the achievement only unlocked if you did it normally, shipless, and nomai
At first I was thinking “cue classic ‘Interstellar’ docking scene,” then you jumped out to catch it and I instantly thought, “nope, Mark Watney moment.”
Pye would be so proud of you. Absolute Madlad. Using the Nomai’s own ship to land on the Sun station. The complete opposite of how they intended you to reach it
My jaw dropped when you looked at the map that last time, seeing both trajectories align so well. Amazing job!!
I tried to land on the quantum moon with the shuttle on brittle hollow because I thought that was how you did it. I knoe the pain of this
same friend
I wonder if you can lock the nomai ships gravity to the quantum moon (assuming you solved the mystery of the quantum moon first)
@@LethalLuggageYou can land on the QM with the nomai shuttle. It's how I did it the first time.
This is such perfect absolute skill, you could make the entire human hearthian and Nomai races very jealous. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would say you may be Pye reincarnated.
Well done dude, that's impressive!
I've gotten the Hotshot achievement, but this is on a whole other level!
Yeah the hotshot achievement was pretty wild but this is way more complicated. I don't want to know how log this took.
this is so fucking impressive, and just speaks to how anything is possible in the outer wilds
This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen
"You might be cool, but are you this cool" ahh moment
Pye would be proud of you
At first i was like "holy shit they're gonna line up the ember twins and line up the trajectory" but holy shit i didn't expect you to recall the nomai ship and take that, bravo my fellow hearthian, bravo
"Он бл*ть, еб*нный волшебник!"
"He's a f*cking wizard!" (By Google Translator)
You've definitely earned a like from me! Incredible
What in the advanced calculus is going on here? Incredible!
The cooler hotshot
this is insane and I love it
Now this is impressive! How long did it take you to figure out the precise timing to launch the shuttle?
I don't remember how long it took, several hours though. The Sun Station wasn't the only target I was looking at when messing around with the launch timings.
This is magnificent.
you're a wild pilot you are
Eat your heart out Feldspar
i wonder if landing the shuttle itself onto the sun station platform would be possible
I'm curious if the shuttle's third toggle would allow you to dock, or if it would beeline for the sun...
HOLY SH*T DUDE
bro is nomai
Now do that but with Solanum’s shuttle
Holy shit
Wow
Is nobody gonna mention the timestamps titles?
What titles
Idk whether NASA should hire you or blacklist you.
