I have had the opportunity to see the Rippingtons in Phoenix at the Celebrity Theater three times and this is one of the best songs. The best one was when Craig Chaquico opened for them and then came out and played with Russ Freeman and did songs from From The Redwoods To The Rockies.
I love this song, it is absolutely badass. The studio recording on Kilimanjaro album doesn't have any sax in it but I like how Jeff covers it live. Looks like a Keilwerth he's playing on, really nice instrument!
This set was my first exposure to the Rippingtons, and I loved this song in particular; the only album I could find it on at the time was "Live from L.A" which is an absolutely stellar album; pick it up if you can find it.
This is the classic line-up of The Ripps. No disrespect to the current members that have joined with Russ and Jeff, but you can't beat Steve Reid on percussion or Mark Portman on the keyboard.
The heart of Kashiwas playing is incredible
Have you ever seen such glorious mullets? Man these guys sound just as good as they look!

Yes they do
Better live sometimes!

THE BEST IN THE BUISNESS!!!!!
Thank you for posting these! I first saw them on PBS years ago and taped their performance, and haven't gotten around to digitizing the tape.
Tony Morales was the BEST they ever had
Hopefully it's an awesome movie from long ago, where everyone has hair like Russ and Jeff did in this video.
Somewhere there is a movie montage without its background music.
masters!
Superb..
What kind of porta-synth was Mark Portmann playing? I see a DX-7 mark 2 on top, and some sort of Roland (D-50? Heck if I know).
Missing the killer bass fills :( C'mon Kim!
