- In the previous few episodes, I introduced the stories of several members of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty in Egypt, including Queen Nazli of Egypt, Princesses Fawzia and Fathia of Egypt. Today, I will present to you the life story of another former member of the Egyptian royal family, who is the first wife of King Farouk of Egypt, Queen Farida of Egypt.
Thats 1 strong lady. She would be around the same age as QEII. They would of been going through similar things at the same time. Becoming a Queen etc..
Thank you for this episode
Queen Farida was a fiery beauty; she didn't but up with any nonsense. She was intelligent and very outgoing. She also was extremely popular, even more than her husband, King Farouk. Farida's popularity was similar to Princess Diana. Like Princess Diana and Prince Charles, Queen Farida's star shined much more brighter than her husband's, King Farouk. The people adored Queen Farida.
in an interview she once said if she knew that this will happened to king farouk she would never have left him if she knew that his popularity will be declined by their divorce she would never have left him I guess she loved him till the end
Actually, it wasn't just a trip to Switzerland.. it was a royal tour around Europe to introduce the new King to his new life and duties
At 5:33 - he looks like our Sascha Karim. Wow.
She was way to good for the ignorant man. I hope she found much happiness after she was freed.
Ohhh 17&18 yrs old...
Queen Farida really suffered a lot of humiliation from King Farouk I who was the reincarnation of King Henry VIII and it made no sense to blame her for not having male children because what determines the sex of the baby is the man and not the woman, if In the past, people knew that women tended not to go through this kind of senseless humiliation, the similarity between King Farouk I and King Henry VIII is also notable when they managed to have a male child this male child did not manage to reign for a long time, in the case of Henry VIII, his son Edward VI only reigned for 6 years and died young and his sisters, repudiated by Henry only because they were women, reigned after him, and in the case of Farouk I, his son Fuad II, during the 1952 revolution, his father , King Farouk I, abdicated the throne in favor of his son, who was less than a year old and was therefore never formally crowned. His "reign" lasted until June 18, 1953, the year of the proclamation of the Republic
It's a sad day when a woman's sole role is to have a son. The male's contribution to the child determines the baby's gender, anyways.
True. This exhibits the ignorance of men.
In the 1930s this was not known. They always blamed a woman back then.
