Abbruzzese made this song so perfect. The best drummer they ever had. The best era of Pearl Jam from 1991 a 1994. He brought them to the next level to their absolute peek.
If only Eddie and Dave's ego went along.. we could've had the same Pearl Jam for the past decades. Dave A's the perfect drummer for PJ, as Matt's groove will always be perfect for Soundgarden and TotD.
Yeah, but he was an asshole that didn’t listen to the band. He was too busy being a badass. Matt Cameron was and is Pearl Jam’s perfect drummer. He would have been their original drummer… if he wasn’t already in Soundgarden!
This is my all time favorite Pearl Jam video. It so perfectly encapsulates that era that it’s hard to believe this exists. To the poster, if you are the person who actually filmed this, you deserve a fucking medal for having what was probably 20 pounds of batteries charged to make it through the set to this song. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Mike Falcone! Usually seeing you on IG! You're exactly right and so crazy to believe this video exists. Really brings me back to a time I love and is hard to define.
To be there in the genesis, see the pure energy from a bunch of guys completely unknown outside Seattle that would later become one of the greatest rocknroll bands of all time. Time travel material!
Far out, just did a random search for Pearl Jam and Breathe to listen to whilst at work and this pops up. I couldn't believe it. I was at that gig and what a gig it was. Blew my tiny little brain as a young guy from the UK stationed at Fort Lewis with the Rangers in what was the beginning of Grunge and big band names, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Sound Garden, Mud Honey. This was my youth. Epic. Thanks for uploading.
You never know when history is being made at the time. It's those little moments that you only give a second thought to thirty years later. And even then, it's usually the stuff that seems insignificant at the time- a concert, a song on the radio, a moment with a group of friends, a certain slant of light- that winds up defining a decade for you. And that definition only comes to you long after it's gone.
at the end of the video "Hey Man! Did you get all of that? Recorded?" "Yeah" " Can I get your address?!" Kids these days would not get it! Not IP Address! Mailing Address!! ROFLMAO
PJ sounds like the uncut 9 minute version of Eric Clapton's infamous hit "Cocaine".Eddie shows Mookie Blaylock moves and "Axel Rose's mic swinging tricks. Thanks for the post.
Roger Daltrey was the first one to swing his mic. The crew had a special way of taping the cord to the mic so it would all stay together. Axl copied Roger. Eddie did too.
@@telephantasm4070 right?! Not often that somebody will take one on the chin like that and keep rolling. Props to that guy. Keep listening to zep AND sabbath, bros.
Man the horrible fashion. Its like people decided to smudge poo and vomit colored dye all over their hats and clothing and it all looked the same. Bunch of mud zombies walking around with no expression or uniqueness in colors. And this was 1991 when neon was at its height. Like I wish the 80s big hair would stay in the 80s, I wish the 90s grunge look would stay in the 90s. Loved the music, TV shows, and movies though.. I remember walking into a clothing store and becoming visually sick and depressed at all the brown and lack of character.
Imagine hearing this song. Loving it. Then when the album comes out it's not on there.
Because it's on the soundtrack album. The 'fighters of the good fight' have their priorities . . and their contracts. 🙄
They should included "breath" "state of love and trust" and "alone" in ten
Breath and State Love and Trust is on the movie "Singles" soundtrack. 😊💓✌️🤘
@@Casherr93 add those and it’s maybe BEST album EVER.
As it stands I rank it the top debut album EVER.
Right behind Van Halen’s first one.
No it wasn’t
What I’d give to go back in time and see this live. At least I got to enjoy it in my youth, such a magical time for music.
Was blown away to see PJ play this at the Gold Coast concert, last week. An absolute banger.

I absolutely agree
Facts!!!
The amount of debt those guys owe to Dave A is so insurmountable it can't be paid in the whole eternity.

What a beauty Eddie is ❤
Stone gossards guitar tones is amazing!!! Hes just an underrated rhythm guitar player
Anybody else spot Mike McCready going for the behind the back guitar riff at 4:36? INSANITY
The early version is so pure and astonishingly good, right away. These guys are far and away the best in alt rock genre. I’ll fight all who disagree.
