    🎸 Jimi Hendrix Guitar Course [Lesson 1] How To Play Like Jimi Hendrix
    Welcome to our Jimi Hendrix player study. We're studying everything that defines Hendrix as a guitar player. This includes his exceptional lead skills, rhythmic prowess, and chord mastery. We'll explore how he seamlessly combined all of these elements to create something truly groundbreaking. From full on fuzz-fuelled rock, to Jimi's trademark chords-with-lead style, Dan will take you through all the technique and theory so you'll be able to create your own music in Hendrix's legendary style.
    We'll take you through all the fundamental aspects of Jimi Hendrix's instantly recognisable sound. In Unit 1 we cover a riff based song and the famous 'Hendrix Chord' (technically known as an E7#9) - once you hear it you'll know it! In Units 2 and 3 we really dive into Hendrix's amazing chords plus lead style, using two songs to cover major and minor chords and scales, and the CAGED system to explain it all! In Unit 4 we explore more of Hendrix's straight lead playing. Finally, we give you a chance to try it yourself with lots of guidance from Dan!

      Great lesson, thankyou. One thing I was fascinated by though was your ability to "hide" your pick & then bring it back. This is a technique that i just cant grasp & at 52 years old, I dont think i ever will. Would love to see a lesson on how to do this please. Thanks for posting these great lessons. Very much appreciated.

    Love the fact that you go into detail for us beginners and really show how to play everything. I watch a lot of videos where it seems the person just wants to get back to jamming and halfway teach the lesson. Definitely subscribing to your channel. Thank you for the lesson- entire video was perfectly executed in my opinion.

    I've been chasing the Hendrix sound and still have yet to find a teacher who can get it across to a dunce such as myself; hoping this will be it (I've bought other courses and enjoy your teaching style). I appreciate all the work you put into this kind of course, so I just went to your site and bought it to show that appreciation but, I have to be honest, I don't understand your business model here. What are the benefits of buying it verses just watching here on youtube? (there are a number of youtube video downloaders out there that I could use to just download these videos...) I'm sure a ton of work went into producing these videos... you should get paid for that... I've bought several courses from your site even though I could get them for free... but, how many people are going to pay for it like I did? I appreciate it but, I just don't get it. What am I missing here?

    • @ankushmamgain8227

      I think in the paid course they include chord charts , tabs and backing tracks for practice

    • @yga
      @yga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey there! Firstly let me say a massive thank you for buying the downloadable course! That means a lot to us. Our main focus as a business is to get our courses and lessons as far and wide reaching as possible, and we really want to change the opinion that free = bad! Or that you can’t learn properly on TH-cam! There are a lot of people out there who simply cannot afford to do what you so generously did, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get the best quality lessons too! In the not too distant future we will be adding a lot more to the paid version, which all current users that paid for a course will benefit from instantly. This will include a lot of tools that you simply cannot get elsewhere and will enhance the learning experience even more so. In the meantime, thank you again. I really hope you love the course 😀😀🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😍

    • @yga
      @yga  ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference there is that the E7 has a dominant or b7 thats a tone down (or 2 frets) from the root where as a major 7 has a natural 7 that is only 1semitone (or 1 fret) down from the root! Which course should I do if I can play scales and licks but I don’t know about keys or notes on the guitar?

    • @yga
      @yga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, it sounds as though you should og back a little bit to basics. I would tackle this course: yourguitaracademy.com/courses/lead-guitar-beginners It will really help lay those foundations fo you, then you can fly through the follow up lead guitar courses! Let me know how you get on 😊😊

    Paused the video after the intro to learn from ear and then played along with the rest of the video to learn why it worked.

    Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad used both the E7#9 and D7#9 on numerous songs. I know as we played many GFR songs. My favorite rock chord. Great lesson. "Into The Sun" th-cam.com/video/CpYSYq_DOww/w-d-xo.html ...... " T.N.U.C." starting at 3:51. Into The Sun E7#9 and T.N.U.C. is D7#9. We played both of these songs. Crowds loved it. Also Steppenwolf "Sookie, Sookie" th-cam.com/video/KmLrl0bN9Aw/w-d-xo.html ... used a E7#9.

    What gauge of guitar strings would you recommend for playing like Hendrix? Great tutorial, thanks.

    • @yga

      Whatever strings are most comfortable for you fingers as they'll be doing most of the work to sound like hendrix!
