To have a better mindset on the springs stretched vs compressed, here's how I think of it. The springs always want to go to their neutral position so when you compress them you are pushing them together so as soon as it goes they try to expand to their neutral position. Similarly, when you stretch them, you are pulling the 2 ends apart so they want to pull back into their neutral position.
What I like about these videos: RCE really seems to start "from scratch" without looking what other players did to solve a level. That's how I like to play, too ...
If you are exited by the springs, just wait until you play the secret world... There are a lot of challenges with spring in there and they are rather different than the normal bridges, might not lend itself to your expertise but I'm sure you'll find that they are a blast!
Its funny because I get channels like yours and in like “ yeah this is just some casual content that I like to watch here and there, dont think its worth subscribing” *proceeds to watch the same channel for hours straight*
Have to say I have been binging this series a lot and I love you commentary and it makes this so enjoyable and I’m so happy I have found your channel it’s a breath of fresh air thank you for your content and you’ve gotten a sub from me!
My dude at around 3:00 I was just saying in my head to move the wood-spring rope behind the two horizontal strings (it was placed between it, but I wanted it to be moved to the left so it is behind the horizontal springs), this allows for better rotation since the top spring isn’t being an obstacle for the back horizontal spring to expand, and therefore possibly only needing 1 horizontal spring instead of two.
Your spring system would have worked a lot better if you'd moved the place where the dangling spring attached more to the left so the force of the spring was less and more evenly distributed over a much longer distance
I have very little knowledge of physics, but your loop really hurt me to watch. They way you threw away the car's energy by putting spring in the loop, therefore making it not rigid, but effectively a shock absorber was very painful. Totally a thumb up! :-)
"Things you can say while playing a game but not at your engineering job?" Hmmm maybe..."Why do I always make these 'it got to fall at a certain speed' Bridges?"
7:06 why not just extend the road and fine tune your hydraulic and locking point to reduce the angle? I reckon that would have been far easier and likely cheaper.
I will nvr not appreciate that they made a looping bridge level with a plane flyin thru the hole of it and then put an actual loophole to solve the lvl instd... And they named the lvl Loop Hole for the double meaning.
Your words have been marked... Now should I forget them or not is the question... (5:31) It's kinda funny that holding shift in your work program does the opposite of what it does in Poly Bridge too, not going to lie. Anyways, great video, quick question. Have you seen a lot of world 5? From what I've seen it looks kinda nuts. Besides that though, have fun, take care and have a good day.
I've seen nothing of world 5, just comments saying I'm gonna get slayed.... I like to do the levels without looking at other solutions, more satisfying that way! So we'll have to see how I get one I guess!
THATS WHY ITS CALLED LOOP HOLE BECAUSE YOU CAN DO THAT!!! They new you could do that so they called it loop hole to reference that while making sound like a loop Edit: I just scrolled down one comment and someone already said this but I’m still happy lol
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming yo, you deserve them man. Before I looked at your subs I legit thought you were some TH-camr in the ranges of 100-150k subs. The professionalism while still beeing enjoyable and good at the game is just really enjoyable.

OK, I just has to say it. Oh, then there was the one where major idiocy from Takahashi for a skid steer. ( dirt catchers where it is supposed to be clean and access point for maintenance. ) engineers are as bad if not worse than architects.
This game does funny things to me, I'm worried its starting to make me appreciate architecture...
Yo dawg I heard your curves have curvey curves.
Is that how you spell architecture?
yeet
Edited/noticed just before you posted that! Thanks though!
You’re doing better than me at this game, that’s for sure.
There is a reason, the level is named "loop hole" and it's not that you are supposed to build a loop :)
Such a perfect name... misleading and smack you in the face obvious at the same time
I think most people built a loop though...
There are stunt drivers wondering if they could get away with this one.
There is a "loophole" in "loop hole"
holy crap i just realized~~

oh boy... "Arc my words" made me laugh wayy too much
He’s so good at sneaking all those puns like that. “Arc” and ”truss”
Just how sad are you
I just subbed for it tbh
You're getting good at the game, you're using springs properly, I think that's an improvement from when you were using *_WAY TOO MANY JOINTS_*

level name "Loop Hole"
RCE "oh, they want me to make a loop!"
xD That name was a hint and you managed to turn it into a red herring, wonderful heh
The Algorythm has been treating you well recently. You definitely deserve the attention.
When will we see "Spring Cannons" from him? I wondered......
Doubtful they go against the engineer in us
Who knows if he'll even get to that point
He probably will be forced to do them world 5
Bookmark this, I will complete world 5 with no cheesing... (if it can be done...)

"Engineering versus Architecture"
Answer : Real Civil Engineer
Have to say I have been binging this series a lot and I love you commentary and it makes this so enjoyable and I’m so happy I have found your channel it’s a breath of fresh air thank you for your content and you’ve gotten a sub from me!

I wood have tried simply replaced the wood rope sections with springs until it worked.
crazy new editing skills xd
i love it
Just found your channel through ksp2 videos. Then i got hooked on your poly bridge videos. So glad i found you. Great stuff my friend.
The levels called "loop hole" and he found a loop hole. I get the feeling that's an intentional solution.
You can make hydraulic diamonds to maximize expansion or contraction, make sure you put wood in the middle
please record your reaction to the 1.5k solution on "loop hole", it's really stupid
Other people have already done it, I'm pretty sure the game devs made that on purpose.
I'm intrigued, will have to have a look!
ahahaha :))))
OMG! they made a buggypult!
Engineer says "That was nearly good!" - Complete carnage.
Love British people using otherworldly English words.
Jolly good!
The voice reminds me of exurb1a if he went into engineering instead of existential philosophy!
Keep up with the great edits!
Thanks, will do!!
Thanks for giving credit to your viewers because of our advice.
I dunno if I would be excited to see you use springs seeing as you brought a whole new meaning to the WHAM-bulance
Its amazing seeing how fast ur channel grew it feels like yesterday that u had 700 subs now you have 20k
Dude. Foggin 21k subs. You have made the right choice my man. Love ya vids! Banger🔥
watch your old video is always be my favorite
The collapsing stunt ramp was nuts.
7:09 I did that, and it worked. I had a little ramp coming up to it to lessen the impact from the car.
20k subs already, truly amazing
Your editing is excellent. I rly like it.
You could always change your keybindings in the "controls" settings to match the programs you use at work. :)
Nah my programs use short commands rather than single keys, good thought though!
I’ve have become obsessed with these videos. My wife makes fun of me cause I’ve been religiously watching all of RCE’s vids
I find your video's very calming en enjoyable
4:10 nice edit
The power of engineering!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your videos!!
Thanks for watching and especially for the comment!
We won't blame you for not doing all of world 5, but the 'in suspence' bridge is super fun.
I have very little knowledge of physics, but your loop really hurt me to watch. They way you threw away the car's energy by putting spring in the loop, therefore making it not rigid, but effectively a shock absorber was very painful.
Totally a thumb up! :-)
That 3 hydraulics solution that compressed the entire bridge. "You gotta let the bridges do what they want"
I love how his IGN is “Cheese Diablo”
THE POWER OF ENGINEERING!!!!!
**fails**
I crack up when he gets mad about dangling roads, but flipping an ambulance upside down, perfectly acceptable.
He has not yet unlocked the power of the dangling road
Never....
Love watching your videos
Loving the content, keep it coming. Commenting to help the algorithm 😁
You are a good person! Appreciated!
You vudeos just bring a huge smile to my face bro .. ❣️😂
this is great, i loved every second of it
“That’s nearly good!” Me playing this game every time
Everytime the car slammed on the loop bridge, I was thinking to myself
*And his name is John Cena!*
Dont you love when you have the video fully loaded, then along comes an ad and you have to wait for 10 minutes extra for it to load...
You sir deserve way more subscribers :)
Forgive me father for I sinned, but I used dangling road for the first level in this video.
i wont drive over ANY bridge with the knowing this guy is actually a real engenieer
RCE casually admitting he likes architecture in this video. I knew he secretly liked it.
Randomly found you glad I did:) hope u have a great day🤙🏽
Cheers man, I'm glad too. Welcome to the channel!
I just went from his new video to this, and the energy level is so different
11:00 an engineer doing the dirty
Nice contents, keep up the good work!
I was screaming diamond hydraulics
11:10 you are really a gunius, I'm not an engineer but I always have this kind of ideas in my mind but I was never able to apply it in this game
Ambulance upside down... Perfect!
Marvelous edits....
Thank you, that's actually massively appreciated!!
"Things you can say while playing a game but not at your engineering job?"
Hmmm maybe..."Why do I always make these 'it got to fall at a certain speed' Bridges?"
You have to do spring cannons and falling roads to rank high in most leaderboards
The objective is to get cheapest after all
If it’s pure design then architects.
An architect makes a pretty bridge, a civil engineer a decent bridge, only both together can make a great bridge.
In the first bridge, if you would have put the spring the the middle of the bridge you would have gotten the rotation
I love your channel!
In the first one the ambulance was upside down and once that happened I thought
‘Well whoever was in that ambulance is dead now -_-‘
7:06 why not just extend the road and fine tune your hydraulic and locking point to reduce the angle? I reckon that would have been far easier and likely cheaper.
Holy, 5% of viewers are subscribed!? You must be growing fastttttt.
Steps to victory:
make_a_spring_cannon()
while not is_top_one_percent():
tweak_a_pixel()
try_again()
leaderboard.check()
Is it really a victory though...?
@c6amp what's your programming language tho?
@c6amp that's nothing like C# bro 🤣
@c6amp forever is a long time
On that last level the whole time I was just thinking how he could move the hydro to the road instead of the truss for more range lol
oh the power of engineering absolutely killed me :D
I will nvr not appreciate that they made a looping bridge level with a plane flyin thru the hole of it and then put an actual loophole to solve the lvl instd... And they named the lvl Loop Hole for the double meaning.
I am going to call your boss and show him how you “engineered” these bridges

Thanks once again my man
Yes, I realize this is way late, but... hey, aren't you an engineer? Change the lever arm! Move the spring closer to the pivot.
New tovv bc the channel cool videos. I subscribed
such a professional
Meanwhile in my country the title (degree) required for what you do is "engineer architect" lmao
for the "engineer vs architect" part, is the right sides design not stronger because of the arch? or are pure triangles stronger?
All you had to do in that first one was connect the hydraulic to the road deck instead of the truss.
To get to the challenge mode you need to complete all 4/5 worlds
I'm amazed you do not have more subs
I'm amazed I have this many!!
