I found your videos in my recommendation feed and can I just say you are really good at this and it is actually enjoyable to watch you play because you already know what you’re doing but your not doing any of the cheese strats like the dangling road so it’s really cool to see some of the actual bridge designs one might use when not trying to exploit the physics engine A+ work 👏
Great stuff, really pleased TH-cam recommended someone as small as me- thanks for letting me know! Also glad to know you appreciate me trying to engineer my way up the leaderboards!! Also, pizza does rule! 😀
So I just found this channel after youtube randomly started suggesting videos about this game. I like your humor, your knowledge about irl bridges (I especially liked the little lesson on "muscles"), and you have a pleasant voice. I'll watch a few more videos and see if I might subscribe. Either way, keep up these great videos.
also, dangling roads aren't the end of the unrealistic "bridges" in-game, there are spring catapults that launch the cars to the other side, sometimes with an added ramp.
Real Civil Engineer there is also falling roads that hit the car at a very verrrrry small point on the car that flips it at such high speeds that it launches it across. It’s very hard to get top 1% with that as your competition...
@@toskakai4379 yes, and if you use that strategy it also takes a stupidly long time to get right, people take literal hours optimizing these kinda of designs, it's kinda ridiculous
Ok as someone who's been on a treacherous bus route, I can tell you that buses are much more powerful than this game makes them seem; I have seen a bus full of high schoolers go up a slope like that covered in ice with no problem, yet a truck on the same road fails even without Ice
my school bus back in b high school was the same, used to go up extremely narrow, winding and steep roads as this particular bus was for the kids who lived in the hilly countryside. it did get defeated several times by ice and snow, unfortunately, but that just gave us an excuse to make a LotR style journey to school and miss the first half of the day with no consequence. Definitely gave me a sense of immense respect for the skill of the bus drivers
The double decker level infuriated me. What I finally did was put a little spring that hung up the limo long enough for the bus to get far enough ahead so the weight was spread out. I when from breaking to 60% stress then was able to really trim cost
A little tip: you can put a little piece of road in front of a vehicle to stop it for a second or two so the bridge doesn't have to hold all of them at the same time
People just want to see me with my shirt off obviously... 😂 Thanks for commenting again dude, glad you're enjoying the vids! 100 sub special out Friday, seems a bit belated now!! Haha
Doesn't matter to that break on the first bridge because that was a result of the lack of hydraulic, as you noticed, but I'm pretty sure split joints weigh more than regular joints, which sometimes matters
Yeah a commenter on my is poly bridge realistic video pointed out split joints weigh more than singles, never occurred to me but pretty useful to know as you say!
Nice one Matt! (Or however I habe to write your name) Really like your vids. I was in my holidays and your vids still keep me in that feeling. Hope your going on with those videos (If you want to).
my idea would be to block one of the cars, so they don't go at the same time... - not sure if good or horrible: never played it - also: ideally using a draw bridge at the end, to only use a single middle road...
Once you finish all the levels and the challange levels (unlock by having under budget and unbreaking on all levels), you should try and get top 1% on all levels like other youtubers are doing.
If i had to guess the reason why you kept getting 100% stress is due to rounding. It might have been like 99.998% and they rounded to the second decimal place which would round it up to a 100% but the Engine is seeing 99.98%
Goes to company. Boss comes in: we've decided to build the next bridge on half budget, before we saw your video. Now you'll build it out of your lunch money equivalent.
Could have probably saved a lot of money with a trick bit of road to delay the limo or the bus; the two of them traveling over the same section of the bridge at the same time was causing most of the stress
Real Civil Engineer so can you start looking at the cheapest solutions? (Go to gallery and select budget lowest) Edit: also 6:45 is not a cheat, it’s not even a loophole in the physics, the road dips down and barely gets effected by gravity, and it acts like a rope, then the cars can just drive on it, but it wouldn’t work in rl because in rl you can’t have roads be segments quite like that so it
So, the last bridge has trouble with both limo and bus at the same time, what if you can sow the bus or limo down at the start so only one crosses at a time?
If you overlap 2 materials the 2nd material will replace the 1st one!If you want to make roads reinforced road you just need to place reinforced road where the normal road is!You do not need to clear the normal road!
Judging from your comments you watched these is a random ass order!! Haha, glad you watched them all and hope you enjoyed anyway! Thanks for the comments!
Are you sure you're not an aerospace engineer? The safety factor on these bridges is terrible!!! Hell now that I think of it a 10% margin is cutting it close even for a single-use rocket, You've got to be a JIT MBA CxO, cutting costs to the lowest possible factor, and not careing if it collapses half the time anyways, that's your successor's problem.
Whilst it's a good strat, it's a cheese if you ask me. I prefer to engineer my way out of a problem rather than use an exploit, even though it's a clever one for sure!
