Hi Tony. Thanks a lot for your comments and warming words. I am really pleased, that you like it and appreciate your inputs here. Hope you find energy to sometime complete a bike. It‘s not always about perfection, it‘s about passion and whether you left everything you had to give……The overwhelming feeling at the end can‘t anyone take away from you. Good luck

Something you might try someday. When restoring plastic tail lights or plastic lenses. A cleaning and light scuffing with a scotch bright pad. Followed by painting with a urethane 2k clear coat paint. Personally i think it makes it look brand new, comes out looking much better then polishing in my opinion.

Spot on, good option indeed thanks. And when polishing, the heat needs to be observed closely, otherwise the plastic will melt or deform. I had to be carefully

Great movie again Tom but.... it's a shame you are using extra washer (I understand why) because therefore the bolds are to short and the (bilock)nut can not do his work on a correct way, as a locknut. For my new project I'm using bilock nuts with extra washer and 'normal' bold. But please, keep up the good work.

Hi, thanks. Yep, I understand your point. I was thinking regarding this back and forward. The washer also keeps the painting rather intact as the washer doesn’t turn (normally) on the surface directly. Along the way, sometimes you’ve got to go for a way, even though there are different ways and maybe better ways. If I would do an other Solex, I would change some things here and there. Thanks for your comment.

@@JustbuildTW As said, I know why you do it like this. Please build another Solex and improve it. I like your movies.
