The European Train Odyssey - Four Days in Budapest

Arriving by train overnight from Kraków, Budapest offered me four days of Magyar majesty.
A bustling metropolis dripping with centuries of history, straddling the wide Danube, Buda and Pest is filled with eclectic, baroque, neo-Gothic and neo-classical edifices, dominated by the medieval Royal Palace on one side and the enormous Parliament on the other.
As well as those architectural highlights, Budapest is justly famed for its ruin bars, its spas and its hectic nightlife too, complemented by the peaceful verdant retreats of its parks and Margaret Island.
At the crossroads of central European history, art and culture for centuries, Budapest is a must-see city - this is just a snapshot of what can be seen on a visit there.
