BarakAllahou feekum,
You mentioned that Al-Mutaqlimeen were mainly Shafi'ies and that Ahl-Fuqaha were mainly Hanafies.
Are you sure you didn't mean:
1. Ahl-Ra'i (The people of opinion) were mainly Hanafies from Kufa who relied more on Qur'an and Qiyas, partly due to the less established hadith in that region.
2. Ahl-Hadith (who focused on the adilah of the nasoos and minimal qiyas) which was mainly Malikies, as well as this school being dominant in Al-Hijaz, due to the far more reliable hadith from this region.
