  • My 2002 GMC Envoy is having A/C problems. I decided to swap an A/C actuator to see if it would fix the problem, it did not. I have to get another A/C controller.

    I unplugged negative battery post, remove 39 fuse under seat for a few minutes, replaced fuse, put negative post back on battery, started car, put temp and vent position knobs where I wanted them, then removed negative post again for another few minutes and reconnected it. Turned car back on and it worked. Good luck with yours.

    Does your ac scream and then blow hot air and stops screaming and go back to cold air? That’s what was happening to my car and now the ac just stoped blowing air all together

      No my actuators to the blend doors would be work right. So I had cold on one side and hot on the other.

    Why is it some people say take the 10a ecis fuse out from under the hood & mine is 35amp?
    I have 2 hvac fuses under my rear passenger seat but you say to remove 3 but you dont mention which ones you just point & i cant see that on my phone. Oh well.

      To reset the system there are 3 fuses. The covers should have the label of each one. I apologize, I do wish I would have out the image in the video.

      With the system that’s in the envoy/trailblazer, it can be the fuses, computer, calibration, or actuators. You have to cycle the system to see if the actuator is working or not. If it’s not working then you change it.

    My AC and heat both work but doesn't blow too well. It's also stuck on the Defrost and Feet option and i can't switch vents. You think I just need a new actuator?

    • @TheShopWorldWide
      @TheShopWorldWide  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That could be a possibility, try and reset the system first, sometimes the actual switch panel goes out to

    Ohhh I am so devastated to see you cut out the part where you actually got it out 😂😭 I actually got the second problem screw out, but now it’s just jammed in there basically. I can pull it out away from where it was screws in, (towards me) but that damn piece of metal is JUST enough in the way to prevent it from coming off of the cylinder. I’m wiggling and pulling like mad but I can not work it off! My set up looks just like yours too, any advice?

      I seen this was 5 months ago but for anyone working on it use a 5.5 ml wrench you'll have to go at 2 different angles

    Please bro tell me how you took the actuator off😅 I took off the screws but the metal bar is in the way

    • @TheShopWorldWide

      It was a struggle….. I took a small pry bar and put pressure on the box and worked the actuator out.

    • @pegachick
      @pegachick ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a metal clamp and puuulled the metal bar out of the way, it was a total pain but you can muscle it!

    • @cme98
      @cme98 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The metal bar was in the way so i just drilled a hole thru the bar so that a long drill piece can fit thru the hole.

    It is not clear... did the Passenger Side Actuator finally work... I assumed so, but You did not state as so...
    Thanx. Helpful.
    2007 Envoy SLT How is this repaired? happens when floor only is selected. Stops when Upper and Floor in combination are selected.
    Another video showed the Driver's Side Two Actuators required replacing, as the one had stripped gears, and the other had a bad motor. So, the inner was replaced with completely, and the replacement was used to harvest the gears to rebuild the stripped gears outer Actuator.

      11-23-2022 Hi Corey,
      Apology for being long-winded. Your expertise is greatly appreciated. In process of validating whether one, two, or three Actuators are required...eventually all three requiring replacement.
      Another Question on this 2007 Envoy SLT. The noise seems to be coming from behind the Center Air Register when the "Floor-Only" is selected.
      Another video showed two Actuators on the Driver Side, they seemed to be the same, or interchangeable.
      "...this is one of five electric servos that operate the a/c on g/m vehicles. this particular one controls the air flow out of the dash vents, and/or floor vents (called "mode control"). the other 4 servos control the air temp drivers side, air temp/passenger side, defrost vent, and re-circulation air/outside air (vent). if BOTH the drivers, and passenger sides wont switch air from floor to dash, or vice/versa, this is the servo you need. if you are not getting any air out of, or only hot air out of just the driver, or passenger dash vent, than you probably need the servo that controls heat for that particular side. these servos fail because whenever the car looses electrical power (dead battery, or battery replacement) the servos must re-learn where fully open, and fully closed positions are. this is accomplished by them fully moving in both directions until they "stall out", because of their age, this often results in one or more servos failing, by breaking their plastic internal gears, burning out the drive motor, and/or electronics. after replacing a bad battery in my trailblazer, this, and the drivers heat control servo had both failed. this servo is not hard to replace, but care must be taken to have the plastic gear properly align with the one in the heater box. the servo is located under the dash, on the drivers side, next to the center console...."
      You demonstrated replacing the Passenger Side Actuator.
      External Arm Gear, "...this part's gear to the gear on the blend door."
      The Driver -Side Actuators are attached from Driver to Passenger Direction. The Passenger-Side Actuator is attached from Passenger Side towards the Driver Direction
      Are all three Actuators interchangeable, directional, or are each a separate Part Number?
      Does the shaft connector permit installing from either side, Left-Driver Side, or From Right-Passenger Side?
      The ratcheting noise began only yesterday. Is a standby daily driver, greatly reduced usage,mainly due to CoVid-impacted schedule.
      Since the ratcheting noise is only recent, maybe the failure is limited to the internal gears, I am planning on Ordering only the Actuator, as I do not suspect the External Arm Gear, but the internal gears. It is assumed the External Arm Gear activated another gear on which the Actuator controls.
      There is a Actuator "Gear-only" available.
      On Amazon, I saw the Dorman 604-120 HVAC Blend Door Actuator, without External Arm Gear, reported as Made In USA, but yellow labeling is missing the "Made In USA". Metal looking External Arm Gear Shaft Port. Visible is a Three Pin Terminal.
      Dorman 604-101 (Temp) & 604-113 HVAC Blend Door Actuator has a Three + Two = Five Pin Terminal
      Confusing...Amazon, and ACDelco Pix are not always accurate. External Arm Gear Port may instead be made of Plastic. The others are viewed as in both Plastic, and in Metal.
      What are the PNs for each of the three front under dashboard actuators? The noise seems to be coming from center.
      Amazon - Visit the ACDelco Store. GM PARTS PROS SELLER. "Question: Are these universal? Like can i buy a few if i want to replace all my motors?..."
      Answer:Hello,. No they are not universal With your VIN we can see how many and/or which ones you need
      By GM PARTS PROS SELLER on September 16, 2019"
      Also shown is comment, "...ACDelco GM Original Equipment 15-73596 Heating and Air Conditioning Panel Mode Door Actuator", has a Three + Two = Five Pin Terminal, "Made In Korea and China". Comments show "...AC Delco#15-73596 is identical to GM# 89018675, on Actuator part# HL 890118675'...'"
      What's Your recommendation on the Made Domestic, Or Made Foreign?
      CoVid impacted schedule of use.
