This guy took some of the most iconic photos of the 60's. Amazing.
Backdrop and soundtrack to iconic part of our lives
Aren’t we so lucky to have such a great guy riding shotgun with the times, packing a camera and the genius to use it quite perfectly to chronicle the people and culture of a very special chapter of our lives. Very well done, young man.
What a stroke of luck that you guys bought cameras that day! Your art is such a strong part of Americana that cannot imagine it without you.
It was not luck.
@@dr.barrycohn5461 It wasn’t, but it was too.
wonderful presentation by a man who was appreciated and trusted by everyone he photographed.......
Henry job well done, fantastic presentation, I could listen to you for ages.
matt jones it’s the same presentation he gives
Fantastic presentation. Henry speaks so candidly of his experiences with some of the legends of Rock as he photographed them. His stories sound as if those legends could have been your ordinary next door neighbor. Henry is a gem, and so is this video. Thanks B&H for sponsoring this!
this is the luckiest photographer on the planet.
One of the very few videos that I did not skip through or turn away from for a second....Thanks Henry...what an interesting life you have had.
Access is everything, and then add talent, humor and intelligence and you have Henry Diltz.
What a great guy! Fantastic presentation!! Thanks Henry and B&H
Henry - I loved this - your stories are (almost!) as good as your iconic photos. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
What a great trip down Flower Power Avenue!! I'm a folk singer too. I see just how all of this can happen. What a lucky guy!!

Henry, thank you very much for your interesting presentation! I have a feeling that if you had become a forest ranger we would now be looking at your photos of wildlife and trees! Photography is in your blood. We are very lucky you were there with the musicians, using your talent, leaving this wonderful legacy for all time!

I have met Henry in the late 90's. Here he is giving me camera pointers. Major sweetheart
Awesome.......... The stories along with the slides are priceless..... Thank you..
Fantastic. What a cool guy.
Fantastic presentation.
Henry is awesome. He took my picture (and I apparently took his) at a Roger McGuinn concert at McCabe's Guitar Shop many years ago. My camera and film were stolen shortly after.
i was walking near the Garden and a guy asked me if i wanted to go to a show, i said sure and he opened the door to the Felt Forum--it was the New Barbarians!--great show

Really enjoyable! Factoid: Fire hydrants are painted according to municipal color charts designating different water pressure.

Just to be there at the good moment and seize it with a lots of chances
Ha,ha. I like to sleep until noon too,. 😪😪😪
I used to go to the Troubadour sometimes too because I am a huge folk music fan. Went to the one in West Hollywood and to the one in London, England.
Man this is great !!! thanks a bunch !!!
Wow what a fantastic life!
That second picture from the Desperado photo shoot, the Eagles are laying in the dirt street bookended by their friend J D Souther and neighbor Jackson Brown.
Cows are outstanding in their field. (Saw this a long time ago on a billboard advertising some brand of milk)
What a great guy.
He didn't take photographs of Frank Zappa because Zappa did not socialise with other rock stars. In fact he did not socialise with anyone. (50) Frank Zappa did not socialise with rock stars - TH-cam
You are such a friendly charming guy and the essence of all these characters..I'm very interested in your books n photography!!..I was really interested in your friendship with David Crosby also ..you are such an interesting person. I plan on making a trip to Santa Barbara n that area to see how David lived..thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching!
Love stories like this 👍😘👌🌈☀️what a story 👍💗👌
Very enjoyable.
That shot of Kurt is chilling with the In Utero angel in the background, it was the last album.
This is about journalistic photography vs. art photography. He ain't Annie Leibovitz, he's more like a New York City tabloid photographer snapping real life as it happens. The cool part is his subjects were music icons. Awesome video.
Henry, How did you decide the order of the slides you used in this slideshow?
a legend! great pictures of a great time. now we have the kardashians...
morrison had a (genetic?)tendency to be overweight. If he’d lived, I think he would’ve been Brando-esque, in both physical and icon stature
57:55 iconic
Those Laurel Canyon crowd were a shady bunch.
His father was in "the State Department." Huh? Ref. Dave McGowan....
Was it always the first 3 songs that the photographers were allowed to shoot?
he was great in eagles desert video
Wait, what...at 1:45:40, he dismissively refers to Sally Mann as a "groupie" who then married the Jefferson drummer, became a lawyer. But Sally Mann is a deeply accomplished photographer.
I think there are 2 Sally Manns. One is the photographer , the other is Sally Mann Romano who is the "groupie" turned lawyer.
He is referring to a totally different Sally Mann.
how come all these young pop people where exempt from being called up for the war in Vietnam like many of there generation were?
o_O
A really neat guy. Is he your father?
@@RR83y No relation that I know of, I'm from Indiana/Michigan.
What you mean "Jim was not even famous until that point"?!?! You must have been drunk when you said this...Think before you say anything. But, that is what happens when people lie LOL
Very very cool. Thank you for sharing.
