Hi! I’m actually the developer who worked on Cerulean Dreams for the GBA/DS. We were self funding as an indie developer and had prepared some demos and even met with Majesco at the Game Developers conference. They were open to publishing but wanted a finished game and would not be able to provide us with the funding needed to hire the artists and developers we needed, unfortunately. We recently started working on an NES home brew prequel to Cerulean Dreams named Cerulean Ascension and hope to put out a cartridge and digital release by end of this year / early next year. We also renamed the company to Celisphere Interactive.
Glad to see that you haven't given up!! I hope more games that got cancelled follow a path like you took, best of luck and I'll be keeping an eye out for news

I love the fact that one game was turned away for being "too" original.
@@Tatokat because gamers are fickle. We want innovation until it comes around then we hate on it for stepping outside the box. Countless games have been review bombed only because they tried being different, or they try a different setting so publishers learned early on to stop investing in change and invest in the status quo

Franchises slowly dying because the fans are getting sick of buying the same game with different graphics over and over again (I think something like that might currently be happening with Assassins Creed), while other franchises that constantly innovate and change (for example the Mario franchise) are doing just as well after several decades as on their first day. It always depends on what the change is, and how it's being presented. Like, if (once again) Assassins Creed was suddenly turned into an on-rail fps, people would probably not like it. It would be a change from the down trodden path, but not necessarily a good one. And at least some of the innovative games that never found an audience or were outright rejected might have been better received with a better advertisement and presentation. Change is a difficult thing but also necessary. After all, without it we would still be playing Pong on the Atari 2600.

Making the game even more challenging as you are ONLY allowed look at the bottom map screen while racing....

This segment aged like cheese that was left on the counter for several days
Its very interesting about Pokemon Gray especially when you learn the Ice Burn and Freeze Shock are in the data for Pokemon Black and White but go unused. Perhaps Black and White Kyurem was going to be compatible with Black and White. Its also not the only time its happened either.
In Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Zygarde has 2 moves that go unused in that generation but are in Gen 7. Perhaps the perfect Zygarde and its dog form could have been in Gen 6 as well possibly with a 3rd version.
There was also a rumour that Zygarde could of been in gen 5 but was held back till the next generation

I remember when people were thinking Pokémon Grey would be a thing then in X & Y there were rumors of Pokémon Z and in Sun & Moon Pokémon Star even though we kinda already have that sense the sun is a star. Then of course there's Pokémon Gun but I'm pretty sure no one actually ever thought that would exist I'm sure it was always a joke.
Well, for long time they did release third title, like: Yellow, Cristal, Emerald and Platinum. So there was sort of expected something like Gray, Z, Star and Bow if they would still fallow this pattern. Though instead they release sequels as B&W2 and Ultra.
Pokemon Stars was such a dumb name. Pokemon Eclipse would've been much better
I still remember hopes of a "Water Blue" and "Lightning Yellow" version as follow-ups to Fire Red and Leaf Green but alas nothing came about of it... :P

@@commandixnostalgia2321 Idk if it was dumb or not. There was definitely a scope for Pokemon Z. Zygarde was definitely being built up as the Rayquaza, Giratina or Kyurem of Gen VI. It's lack of relevance in X and Y, probably meant game freak planned to use it for another game. But then they decided Gen VI didn't need a updated version (despite it being the most needed one other than platinum for DP) and pushed Zygarde to Gen VII

@@Starkiller156 The main Boo character DIES and then you have to play as the side characters for 3 in-game days until the main character comes back to life and gets more powerful after resurrection to beat the final boss

@@DarkLink1996. A third stone could just as easily have been planned for Black/White 2 as for a hypothetical grey version. Both feature Kyurem as the main legendary after all.

This is supported by the fact that the only real data for it is found in Black and White. Not to mention I doubt they'd be so blunt as to call something finished a god stone when not even reshiram or Zekrom's stone forms had those titles.

Both games are amazing and it's such a shame this one didn't happen. The card battle system would have been a great fit for touchscreens.

Baten Kaitos is one of the most underrated RPGs ever made. Just played it again, and it still holds up extraordinarily well. The art is amazing.

A game I remember hearing about in a GameInformer or Nintendo Power article a while back was Whirlwind, this top down adventure game that looked like a clone of the DS Zelda games. The article even included a few screenshots.

Hey DYKG, many years ago, there was a project called Ghostwired, for dsi, it was basically a game that used the console camera and "interpreted radio signals" as if they were ghosts in our real environment, which gave us goals to fulfill, but it was canceled ... have you ever heard of something like that? I read about it in a nintendo magazine in 2009, and it was the game that made me want to have a dsi at that time ...

There's something nostalgic to me about 2000s video game commercials. They have this kind of specific aesthetic, lots of oversaturated colors and cartoony characters walking around realistic backgrounds. Reminds me of growing up during that era.
