Same for me! My grandpa did people's taxes. 😊 Sometimes I'd get to go to his office and he had an old typewriter he'd let me type on.

My mum was an accountant for decades and she often brought her work home. This was Eastern Europe in the 90s, so our one bedroom doubled as her office most of the time. As a kid I used to watch her sort through files and receipts almost every night before I fell asleep. This might just be the most soothing video of yours I’ve watched

Accountant here too and I’m always fascinated by these details. Everything has been computer based since I moved into this field (most of my adult life, actually) and I love hearing about the papers, writing etc. that I missed out on.

If I were ever allowed to make a request it would be for Maria to read random pages from a dictionary. With the way she makes the tingles I think it would be amazing.
Gibi asmr has done something similar, it's called reading your fortune with the dictionary (or close to that title) it doesn't quite have Maria's finesse for me but it's still calming :)

Something I have found very strange about ASMR videos is that they actually help me wake up. Being able to put one on, and go into a very deep state of relaxation, but not quite sleep, for about 15 minutes will suddenly give me this bizarre surge of energy once I snap out of it.
I tend to randomly feel a certain kind of anxiety that "itches" to be calmed by ASMR, especially Maria's older videos.
I hardly ever put it on to help go to sleep.
@@lemontreat I get that too, usually I go back to Maria's older Origami videos. Especially the one where she has all the materials in the folders.
I wonder what that's called.... I had the same experience doing accupuncture which is a very similar experience to ASMR in a lot of ways
I’m glad someone else feels this way…I’ve found that the videos help me focus when my mind is all over the place.
The snapping out of it…happens to me too if I listen in the middle of the day!
This is god tier asmr. I’d be happy with an hour long video of you just flipping through those forms. This isn’t even asmr anymore it’s ART.

Agreed. I prefer soft speaking in general though, whispering just doesnt do it for me, unless its the almost inaudible kind.
I've been plagued by a migraine for the past week that drove my blood pressure up to 138/108 & had me feeling miserable. I tried every standard treatment to get it to break & it wouldn't. It took listening to FOUR of them back-to-back, but your gentle whispers videos did the trick when modern medicine didn't! The migraine is gone & my blood pressure is back down to 118/80. Thank you SO much... and you earned a subscriber today!!

It's crazy how this genuinely helps. Whether it's to help you get to sleep, for the tingles or for anxiety relief.
I've always had trouble sleeping and with anxiety but if I wasn't aware of ASMR and someone suggested it I would probably just dismiss it. But I can watch one of your videos and after 4/5 minutes I can feel my eyes getting heavy. Its hypnotic. Its only Maria that has this effect on me also. I've watched many other asmr channels and they just don't have what you have, so thank you : )

The other day I read u decided which day was gonna be the international ASMR day, thank u for starting this chanel and spreading ASMR and this marvellous idea around the world. Lot of people and chanels have helped a lot of people since u and another few decided to use TH-cam as a way to help people with insomnia and anxiety, including me.

Ooooof, if I weren’t ASMR immune for years, I just KNOW that would have been sooo tinglyyy ♡ I still get a calm, warmth, sleepy, and fuzzy headedness. Tingles are extremely rare, and only on my right side anymore.

Are you using it too much? Sometimes you gotta quit ASMR for a while. I think even Maria had a video talking about it.
It is better when you don't go looking for it. Videos like this are okay but no where near as good as unplanned, unintentional, asmr in the real world...
I am use to getting head tingles from Maria but this video sent the tingles all the way down my spine. Absolute heaven. Thanks again Maria for another great video.

My mom was an accountant growing up and i heard all the bookkeeping she did before computer stuff and i love reading so i'd always go to librarys for all the books, so wonderful

Hi Maria, the tingles from paper sounds and writing are always a favorite. Whispering, paper sounds, typing, and writing are all the things that first triggered the tingle effect (or ASMR) for me. With the intent to fall back asleep for two hours before work, I landed on this video and 🤔 thought 💭...now is the perfect time of year for a new bookkeeping/tax preparation video... 😉
