It's a very interesting topic to learn about because the effects of using proper colors in clothing, make up and accessories can be paramount in one's life, can make you more attractive, confident and youthful. This Thursday I'll post a video of me analyzing celebrities' choice of colors and which shades work best on them. so I used to work at j.c. penney in 2011 and I was 17. this amazingly sweet customer came up to me for help and she was a bit elderly and she was obsessed with this stuff as well! she ended up talking to me about my color analysis for over 45 minutes (just from her memory!!) and at the time I didn’t even know of asmr and I swear I had the ~tingles~ the whole time she was explaining to me 😂 it’s still one of my favorite memories lol she was the sweetest soul.

Getting your colors “analyzed” was a big thing in the 80s. I had it done with a couple of girlfriends, and it was a lot of fun. To this day I still use the info I learned in that session. There was a very helpful book out at the time if anyone is interested - “Color Me Beautiful.” Maria, this is a perfect topic for you, and if I could have stayed awake during the video, I’m sure you did a marvelous job with it. 😂❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Yess my mom had this done when she was young and she is 100% an autumn so my grandma finally stopped buying her like neon green and pink clothes lol

Yes! my mom figured this out in the 80s when my white school uniform made me look sickly. Now I know it's because I am a Spring and desperately need "warm" undertones near my face :)

When I found out I was a soft autumn, everything made sense. Turns out there’s a reason why my entire wardrobe is burgundy, olive green, black, warm brown and mustard yellow. And why light hair colors don’t look right on me. And why I look terrible in white and never wear mint green, even though it’s my favorite color. It’s all connected

They also now have each season divided into 3 sections, like deep autumn, true autumn, warm autumn, and light spring, warm spring, bright spring, and light summer, cool summer, soft summer, etc. so there are a total of 12, which makes it even more interesting so you are not confined to just one season but have a choice in each season. It's not your hair alone that determines your colors.
I have copper hair, not a bright red, but still considered red, but a cool skin tone and cool, gray eyes and a pink undertone. I'm mostly cool toned, but I look good in yellow gold and silver.
That makes me neutral.

There was once actually a book on this very subject called "Color Me Beautiful" it came out like 40 years ago, and it was very popular for a long time.
I still have my copy, and my original fabric swatches. Guided my personal style choices for decades now ❤

When i was in H.S. they had a woman come in to my home ec class to tell us about this topic and when she did mine she couldn't figure out my season and said i could wear any color. Super helpful

I totally laughed at the 50 shades joke. I’m a redhead and it can be hard at times to find things that are suiting for me. So this was helpful! Any fellow redheads/fair skin people out there with some tips let your girl know!☺️
Blue, green and purple jewel toned colours look fab on us redheads. Navy is also amazing. Red is a good colour for me as I’m more Auburn. I personally tend to avoid pastels and bright orange, yellow or pink. I think redheads are a category of their own, cool skin but with warm hair. 🤷🏻♀️ Ultimately you should just wear what makes you feel good. Confidence is everything.
This is so helpful I’m so bad at undertones/being able to figure out what to wear. Any idea on season?? I think I’m winter because I’m really pale with no freckles but I’m not sure
I’m a redhead too, and I agree that jewel tones usually look good on us like jade or emerald green, royal blue, and even rusty red. I can’t wear bright colors, like the color of Maria’s top or hot pink. I usually stick to either autumn or some spring tones.
