Are they an actual band or just people who get together to do theater type shows? They seem to change members a lot. Reminds me of college students just messing around. Either way, they are excellent!
@@runnergo1398 lol! Considering all the years they’ve been a band I think it’s only natural that people come and go; Sandra (vocals) might be the only original member, but Cristy has been around long enough. I can’t remember about the guys; it’s been a while since I hanged with them to tell.
I honestly feel something I haven't felt since I was a kid. It's so awesome finding an original band that has a great video to go with such a rocking song. I'm officially obsessed with this band now.
In addition to Devo, they also remind me a lot of Kraftwerk. They have a lot of great songs on there previous albums and this new one. They quickly have become a new favorite band for me, though I only stumbled upon them, through the algorithm recommending them when this video came out. Glad you both like it!
i grew up when MTV was born. this is such an amazing video and really great song. you know there is an MTV live channel now that actually plays new videos. this really reminds me of Poppy. that quirky DEVO vibe with metal edge
My first thought was early (guitar driven) Gary Numan + Devo + all their own everything else. When this video first came out I immediately bought three copies on vinyl. So funny that they’ve been together so long and I just heard of them.
The baseboards are like that because they are in a larger studio space and those walls are movable panels on casters. I am sure this video was put together without a carpenter actually constructing the set. They probably just painted those movable walls and put them in the slightly unusual configuration.
I really appreciate your channel's allowing the song to play though without interruption before commenting. I have a hard time watching most reaction clips.
In Mexican Spanish, they pronounce it something more like "dess CARTess a kant, like it was one word. This video was my introduction to them, too, and I tracked down a lot of their other things, including appearances on Mexican variety shows. The band name was pretty much all I could understand in the host's introduction, but the music speaks across languages.
Love these guys. I agree with Ginger, it definitely reminded me of a few things that came before. Possibly a strong Liz Phair influence for one. But that's all the better. :)

Last week I was in a discussion about paramore's song "hard times" and how it messed me up when it first came out cause it left me wondering how I totally didn't recall hearing it in the 80's! And so I learned about how this "after destruction" song ends with the word "User" and playing it daily+ for a week now, welp when in rome & all that jazz... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "Goodbye User".
When the initial, and main guitar beat are playing, the thing that kept running through my head was, 'get your motor running, head out on the highway....'😊 same beat. I really like them. They're like a mix of St. Vincent, Marnie Stern, Miranda Sex Garden, and DEVO. Awesome stuff.

They use the St Vincent guitars and I can hear a lot of the influence in the tone too, especially with the effects on the guitar solo.
It's always unusual when someone is talking about "a Kant" and says they can't put their finger on it.

Not a new band at all: they began in 2001 and released their first album in 2007. This song is included in what will be their 4th album.
