Most of the navy/marines respect luffy bc they know he isnt bad. But they still have to follow justice meaning catching pirates like luffy. Most members who actually meet luffy realize this and respects him as he respects them. A lot of the navy fights could have been more deadly if they had not. But in having respect for eachother they actually fight fair. A good example is senior pink vs franky. Sure he was weird but they fought their true fight fairly. Another example is katakuri and what happened in his fight.

Technically Sengoku and Garp were Roger’s mortal enemies, but there was always a mutual respect between them, and in a way, they even somewhat viewed each other as friends, even though their different stations and perspectives in life kept them at odds with one another. It’s honestly a really interesting theme that isn’t done often in anime or otherwise. It’s totally possible to respect your enemies as people without forsaking your own duties.

One of the all time greatest moments. Luffy one shots the Pacifista, especially when you remember 2 years ago the whole crew fighting to beat 1. This moment for the first time is beautiful! ✨

Actually Luffy was playing around with the Pacifista. He was nowhere near full power this time :)
also gear 2nd can be focused into specific body parts in the manga. When he punches it in the manga it only shows him activating it, then in the air about to punch, then landing the punch and in all 3 panels smoke is only coming from his arm. I think they still do the whole body for animation purposes
Wrong. It's just faster activation to attack and then deactivation. You can't just pump blood faster to one part of your body lol, that makes no sense.
