Hip-hop fans are cowards. They are afraid to take risks and rock some Qtip or Pharrell styles. Afraid what other niggas in the hood will say. Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! GREAT CONVERSATION!!! These brothers just broke down today's version of the rap industry in a matter of minutes, and it helps us to understand why the majority of the artists and their tracks sound so similar. It truly is a formula in which the industry executives are not interested in the substance or culture of the music, but only in the money it brings them and mindless mediocrity that is so pervasive on the on the airwaves. The radio industry DJ's mindset is "its gonna get played 20 times a day until you like it".
Q-Tip is the REAL definition of a person who didn't let the industry suck him into the bull shit and he was able to stay grounded Mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
He makes such a good point about waiting until you really do understand, no matter how many times they explain it. Only a fool is afraid of looking like a fool, and a lot of executive types rely on bamboozleling uninitiated with jargon and overly complex concepts
