I lived in Texas in the early 80s. My friend, Princess, was a close friend of his and brought him to my house. He was so quiet and deep. He sat at my old upright piano and played for her and me. It was so beautiful I'll never forget that day. He signed my album I had of him. This right here made me cry sweet tears. Thank you Pharaoh Sanders and Princess. I was kind of down contemplating the future, now I know it's going to be alright

This is so particularly touching for me. I had introduced my son to Jazz music in 2001 . I somehow always wanted MR Sanders to be the first jazz live experience for my son. When we had that chance to see Mr Sanders at the Birdland in NY the show was sold out. SO i figured there will be another chance somehow, but there were no more chances, except this chance here which me and son fianally got to see...

I was quite reluctant to see this video, but was truly moved by it. It brought tears to my eyes. Pharoah Sanders was the closest I had ever been to seeing one of the truly great jazz masters. Having seen him in the early 80's, playing in Grant Park, Chicago, and again at the Jazz Showcase in '04, I wanted to remember him as one of the most Prolific saxophonists of all time. He undoubtedly was. This man was an outstanding musician, and his high energy channeled through everyone in the entire audience. I will always be grateful having had the opportunity to see Pharoah live. Although this video somewhat broke my heart, my memories will never change. As for this last performance, there are no words big enough to describe the awe I felt... RIP

Humbly speaking, I had the honor of meeting the King 👑, in Minneapolis at the Dakota Bar and Grill some years ago. I, made my to the green room after the performance, greeted him As-salamu alaykum and he invited me in we talked. We left the green room together, as he held my hand walking through the back hall. I was 15yrs old when I got introduced to his music "The Creator has a Master Plan" and I still listen to it to this day. I was honored to meet the man, the human and spiritual being 🙏🏽.

This is my first time knowingly listening to the king, I’m getting strong reminders of Baba Ram Dass when he was near his passing. It’s more than just the image of an elder, it’s the immense shifts of energy as novelty (the chaotic potential born of free will) gives way to conservation (the return to order and cyclical motion). I don’t know what I’m really talking about here, it’s just a feeling I can’t wrap words around, and I’m thankful for that

it's crazy last August I was happy that he was alive and was still performing. Today "As You Are" pops up in my playlist. I check to see how's Pharaoh doing. I was so sadden that he passed away. What's worse, not one mention on the news or on the radio. I feel so sick about it.

I know no other artist in the world that would play his instrument in a wheelchair, none other that the Grand Pharaoh himself, such a great man, the most high welcomes you ❤
