Thank You Phil....My thoughts are with you while you are in recovery. Health comes first above all. When/if your turning starts up again it could only be with your positive health. Please do not push recovery before it's time. I always look forward to what you have to offer........TM

Thanks for the tips Phil! I know when you showed me cutting the disk and using the white I started doing it as well. I remember the white pad you had was real thick and was wondering if you got thinner ones or trimmed this one down. The ones I bought were thick but I kind of like them that way.

I imagine there is less grit/dust from the wood with the scrubby pads than sandpaper. Seems like the scrubby pads polish as it smooths the wood. Less grit/dust in the air is better especially if you have lung irritation from the dust and grit, like me.

Howdy Phil, Well, you have until December the 16th to get back to 110%. The 16th is when I go in to get four more clogs Roto-Rootered. I'll tell the Docs to use your trick of using scotch brite pads on my veins to make sure they are smooth enough to not clog again. One of us has to stay in good enough condition to keep the world turning. My sweetie has ordered me to do nothing but, eat, sleep, and watch old western movies, until I get patched back up. I quickly found out that I am extremely good at doing all three. "Well that's it for now Partner" God Bless !!!!!

Thank you sir, I use the green ones for de nibbing after sealer ( green ones are about 400 grit) Followed by Yorkshire Grit, standard & microfine ( this takes it to about 2000 grit) prior to a final food & toy safe wax finish. Never thought of using the pads on a rotary sander - must try that. As to PPE, have you thought about using a positive airflow face shield, Trend, 3M etc. A bit on the bulky side I know but they do make a difference as I've found out. Keep safe, be careful, regards!

I recently switched to using scotch brite pads whenever I’m sanding any sort of finish. The pads don’t load up and leave imperfections from the goobers that can form on regular sandpaper. The maroon pads are a bit more coarse than the grey, so they can remove brush marks or other larger imperfections.

Thank you, Glenn! It's on high but I think that is only about 750 rpm for this drill. Heat cracks can be an issue but for most of what I turn, the wood is still quite thick when I'm done and heat buildup is pretty much non-existent. 😊

I have seen your demonstration if this product before, but great to have it reinforced. Glad you are making videos again, even these shorts. Thanks for sharing. Keep improving. Prayers sent!
